You actually thought you could before this game? :odd:

Yes. before the weekend we were 7 points off with 14 games to go, so fourth place was definitely doable, but after this weekend, 9 points behind with Liverpool in the form they are in...no..just no!

So I bought a ticket for the Arsenal v Bayern Munich game. Maybe I have made a bit of a mistake :dunce:.
I don't have high expectations for the game from Arsenal's point of view, but on the off-chance we get a result it would be a fantastic night. 👍

There are games tomorrow night and Wednesday night because of the FA Cup at the weekend and out of those games there is one big stand out one...

Tuesday Night

Cardiff v Aston Villa (BT)
Hull v Southampton
West Ham v Norwich
West Brom v Chelsea

Wednesday Night

Arsenal v Man United (BT)
Fulham v Liverpool
Everton V Crystal Palace
Man City v Sunderland
Newcastle v Tottenham
Stoke v Swansea

Oh sweet! It is on BT Sport, I thought it wasn't, well I say I, what I mean is my friend said it was on Sky sports.

Still think I'll regret watching it though.

Im not expecting anything from that match after yesterday!

Yes, the one with the aging defenders and an average midfield.

United were overly reliant on Van Persie.

To add. The Aging defenders and average midfielders that conceded many many many goals in the first half and had to rely on Van Persie to pull them out of the situation nearly every game in the second half. Can't remember the number of times that Man U went down and had a "come back" in the second half.

Totally agree. We've needed a good central midfielder for a couple of years now but as we had our strikers on top form, it didn't matter. Now though, that midfield and defence is looking pitiful and to add the that, we know Vidic is off and Rio and Evra's contracts run out at the end of the season too so we desperately need a new left back too.

HAHAHAHAHA

Well I guess that didn't work because I never heard: Viva Ronaldo, The White Pele, Manchester Calypso or Come on David Moyes". I don't know if the TV microphones didn't pick them up but I can usually hear and recognize any song that is being sung.

Big game for both Arsenal and United. Arsenal need 3 points to keep up in the title race and to bounce back after that shockingly bad performance against Liverpool. United just need 3 points or else the top 4 will be pretty difficult to catch.

West Brom vs Chelsea will be entertaining to watch because we always struggle at the Hawthornes.

*Singing section letter*

HAHAHAHAHA

I like the idea of singing sections at football grounds, but scripting it is a little too much

I don't really know what to make of the Arsenal v Utd. game on Wednesday. Manchester Utd. have been in relatively poor form all season, and I was confident we'd get a result, but after that shocking performance against Liverpool I just don't know what sort of Arsenal team will turn up.
Add to that the fact that we always struggle against Utd., and the pressure is really on to get a result (especially if Chelsea win tonight) then this game could yet be another slip up.

This is one of Arsenal biggest games so far and we need to respond after the Liverpool debacle, or our season could totally collapse.

No Idea what to expect tomorrow night and I'm not predicting anything, both teams are shell-shocked after this weekend and are looking to bounce back...

It will be a very interesting game to say the least, I can't wait! We really need a result as our next to games are in the FA Cup and CL, so the last thing we want is to go into those games having lost against a team who many feel we should beat.
Then again, Utd. really need a result too, as their chances of making top 4 are quickly slipping away and I can see the Utd. support turning pretty sour as well.

the only fans that will leave will be the young ones that only know United winning everything and weren't born when we got relegated to the third division in the mid 70's....although I wasn't born then either...and I will support the team no matter what...

..I remember reading something on Twitter about a guy who has buggered off to support Chelsea because of our form, but he said he wasn't a fan of football until the 06 World Cup and he decided to support United...no big loss!!

My dad was a fan of United in the 70s and 80s, and argues that this current period is the worst he has seen since he's followed the team. This is where you separate the men from the boys. Very much like Rooney's toys out of the pram episode at the world cup, you will see who can handle pressure when things really aren't going well.

Just ask anybody who has a non-PL team as their #1 team. I'm sure me (Wrexham), @Famine (Sheff Wed) and @dhandeh (Portsmouth) could tell you some stories about rubbish teams playing rubbish football. In my opinion, nobody who has not experienced relegation knows what it is like to truly feel the need to support your team, when things are bad, as opposed to simply wanting to support them when things are good.

Everyone knows I support two teams, and I started supporting Swansea went we were scrapping to say in the football league in the late 90's and early 2000's, I still remember when we were home to Peterborough on a freezing Wednesday in February and we went 2-0 down within 10 minutes and my dad and I talked about leaving the ground there and then the start was that bad, we ended up staying and we lost 1-5 and that's why I'm not a Glory-hunters because I supported Swansea when we were crap, but you have to stick with your team no matter what...and look at Swansea now!

That wasn't an attack on you, just a general comment. Particularly on as you say, the younger people, people my age.

I didn't take it as an attack or insult mate, just making a point that you have to stick with your team no matter how bad it gets..

Oh god how I don't miss the days of Spurs under Juande Ramos, nearly getting us relegated.

My local team(Galway Utd.) got relegated and went bankrupt in 2011 but are now coming back(well, a new club) as Galway City F.C. and I'd imagine it will get huge support when the season starts in March.

Rangers fans aren't giving up on Rangers, they still get big crowds in the Scottish lower leagues..

Well I'm 15 and have only known success at United but I will always support the club whatever happens. I've watched so much footage and documentaries of pre Sir Alex United, especially the time post Munich where we had lost a whole team in that tragic accident. I bet some of these glory supporters son't even know of the Munich disaster. At school I constantly have to tell people of the United of old when we got relegated in 1974 and how we were close to going into administration. My first memory of watching Manchester United was when we ended Arsenal's run of dominance. I was about 5-6 at that time. Apparently, I watched the 1999 UCL final against Bayern as well but I don't remember that as I was 1.

I vaguely remember watching the 2002 World Cup final(would have been 6) but the first match I distinctly remember watching was the Spurs-City Fa cup game in 2004, and then the replay where they were 3nil up at half time with a man advantage and they lost 4-3 and lost a man as well.:irked:

My god, I don't know how I stuck with Tottenham after that!

How old were James and Shilton again?

Goalkeepers are somehow always able to keep going and going, despite the assumed lack of agility.

Van Der Sar and Seaman playing at the top level way past the normal age are perfect examples.
