So Anelka has been sacked by West Brom.

BBC
West Brom are sacking Nicolas Anelka for gross misconduct after the striker announced he was quitting the club.

Earlier on Friday, Anelka used social media to announce he was leaving the club immediately.

He wrote: "Following discussions between the club and myself, certain conditions have been set for me to rejoin the group, which I can't accept.

"In order to preserve my integrity, I've terminated my contract with West Brom with immediate effect."

However, West Brom responded by releasing a statement saying "the termination was invalid as it was not conducted under the correct legal process".

The statement also detailed the conditions Anelka needed to meet to enable his club suspension to be lifted.

It read: "The club required Nicolas Anelka to apologise to it, its supporters, sponsors and the wider community for the impact and consequences of his gesture made on December 28 and secondly, that he accept a substantial fine.

So disappointing for Swansea to lose at home to West Brom :grumpy: and we were one up at half time!

We are still in 14th and still four points clear but Sunderland have three games in hand over us...looking very tight at the bottom!

Villa 0-0 Chelsea at half time, boring game...

Second yellow for Willian and he is off!

Please don't lose again today Spurs, the gloating at work will be endless! (I work with two hardcore Arsenal fans)

Manchester United - Liverpool.

Haven't really watched any United games in months, though I know very well they aren't what they used to be with Ferguson. But I hope they win the derby.

Gerrard makes it 1-0 for Liverpool in the 33rd minute with a penalty!

Nowhere near our best performance, but goes to show how rubbish Man U are under Moyes... I'm really looking forward to him seeing out his 6 year contract

Rafael should have been sent off and we should have had another couple of pens... could easily have been 5-0.

Very happy :D

 Unlucky utd.

Unlucky? They were 🤬

Rooney, RVP and Mata look like they'd never played together before. Mata must be wishing he'd stayed on the bench at the Chavs.

:lol::lol::lol:

That was humiliating, we looked lost, demoralised, Rafael is a liability...and im seriously thinking now that this is too big for Moyes, he just hasn't got a clue at the moment

This was so disappointing from
United it's almost unbelievable. What was this team set up to do? I'm sorry but Moyes hasn't the faintest clue at the moment. Liverpool at the moment are really charging for that title, I think it will be between them and Man City.

The only good players for United were Rooney and Felliani, Felliani had a good game I thought, full of energy..busting a gut..made some good tackles

That was ****ing dreadful. Could easily have been 4 penalties and about 5 or 6-0. I don't believe that this result is Moyes' fault though. He picked the best players that he had available but they were just too reckless. Rafael is a great RB but could have easily been sent off today. Vidic's head is in Italy and I think Ferdinand should have played instead of him today. Carrick didn't have the best of days. Jones was good in the first half but he too became reckless later on. Rooney was probably our best player today. I didn't see much of Mata and Evra and Januzaj didn't play that well today either. RVP had a bit of a shocker, missing 2 clear chances. Overall, a terrible performance which doesn't bode well for our UCL tie on Wednesday.

I actually thought we played alright in the first half, but overall there was very little there, like I mentioned before I thought Rooney and Felliani were our best players and Marouane he been playing a lot better since being back from injury, but apart from that it was shocking...and I think Olympiakos would've liked what they have seen very much, I cant see us scoring three on Wednesday at all!

14 shots with only 1 on target? Sort it out Spurs. Dominated possession, loads of shots, get a sodding goal already!

Big win for Arsenal, were awful but Spurs weren't much better. Now we don't have top 4 to worry about unless we stuff up some games.

Hugely important win thanks to the imo best CB partnership in the league.

I was about to say, Terry and Cahill have been rock solid the entire season. And really should be the pairing for England in the summer.

Why do all the commentators insist on calling Rosicky Rosiscky. It's ROSICKY!! It's on the score sheet and on the back of his shirt, where the hell is the second s?!?

Was sort of expecting to wake up and hear the news of Moyes's sacking but it didn't happen..
