Ahhh ok good advice I suppose :)

I'll still sell the G27 to any other USA Academy guys if you want to upgrade from you dfgt before nats, but I'll refrain from posting on craigslist for a few weeks at least.

I doubt there's a need for you to post it up at craigslist. There are people here at GTPlanet that would buy it. When you're ready, post it up over here.

Pretty sure GTPlanet has a marketplace type thread as well, where you can probably sell it quicker than you would on craiglist.

Heck. I've got a G27 and I'm interested in buying it for a gift.

👍

I will make sure GTPlanet gets first dibs.

Ah dude! unless you're hurting for money or something I would hold on to the G27 until you get a proper feel for the T500 RS. People either love that thing or hate it.

It's amazing, I love my T500 in iRacing but hate it in GT. I hope GT6 allows us the ability to reduce steering lock like iRacing does. The extra amount if steering input needed for the Thrustmaster in GT5 is annoying.

IIRC, and I'm checking to be sure. You can adjust the T500's steering for GT5.

Check here for confirmation. Might want to PM Owens to see how he sets it.

Same here JSW. Love it in other games, hate it in GT5.

Yeah you can change the steering lock. Hold down the Mode button and the left arrow direction button to decrease it, right arrow to increase it. After you release the buttons the red light will flash. 5 flashes denotes 1080 degrees, 4 flashes 900, 3 flashes 720, etc.

Well then I'm extra glad ill be prepared for finals with the crappy wheel lol.

Btw it appears that Sony won't tell us which game we're on.

We are only a few hours away from the British finals though, so hopefully we know more very soon.

If we don't find out in due time I'm gonna sulk like a schoolgirl.

So anxious to find out D:

I bet it'll be GT5 D:

Thanks for the tip! I never knew this was possible.

Cheers!

I guarantee it. It's best to practice with the slow 1080 default set up. In 2011 pretty much every setting was default, other than traction control.

Sorry if this has been covered but does anyone know when silverstone would be for the USA guys? Or a general idea? Trying to plan things for work just incase a miracle hapepens and I make it

our best guess is last week of September or first week of October.
You could also just ask Tim the producer man. The worst he would say is "we don't know yet".

Was just doing some research and evidently the mode button procedure doesn't work with GT5 anyway, something about it being reset every time the race resets and also changes depending on the car being used. So 1080 degrees it is.

I just got a psn message from gta13Official is name and it tells me I qualified for nationals and to contact Doug Harakal, is this real. Just wondering because my email on psn accou.t I no longer have and if it is real I will let them know I cant go this.year.

Doug is the guy handing out the invite emails. That would explain why they haven't given a shout to #47 yet.

reading about the UK national finals, they did fitness and driving tests at the national finals. Will they have fitness tests at USA national finals?

The rules are clearly different this year. I wouldn't base anything on past years.

I'm basing assumptions on how much room they'll have available in a NYC studio. They'd have to put us on treadmills, or do a stationary bike race. ;)

I have zero knowledge on the matter, but I very much doubt that. USA gets a whole season of TV show, so it would be a huge waste to do physical tests before race camp ;)
People like to see others suffer on TV, lol.

Yeah, but it's never too early to get in shape for Silverstone.

True, but for National Finals they'll be pulling you aside to do health checks anyway. But even if you have never worked out and just now start to "get in shape" for National Finals you're going to be a bit disappointed in your progress in what, a week?
