Congrats to those who made it. This is definitely a crazy plot twist. I think a lot of next year's hopefuls (myself included) are going to try and find some in car time ;)

Thre3kgt, if you are one of the Chris(s) in that pic, a huge congrats to you. All that shuffle racing did the trick.

Close but no cigar, Ghillie :/ I'll be seeing you next year for sure.

Since we can't provide any real updates, I figure a few pics would hold you guys over?

My ugly mug with my favorite sports car driver Boris Said, and the world famous "Spin & Win" Indy 500 Champion Danny Sullivan:

When you're as big of an E36 M3 Junky as I was in my formative years you make sure to get one of those too. Especially since I wanted to be the 1st American to win the N24 but he beat me to it. ;)

p.s. Good news that you got home safe and sound. 👍

Wow I don't even know where to begin. Such an amazing experience. I am very humbled to be apart of such an elite group of guys. This was probably the best 4 days of my life and to share such a common bond with you guys is really something special. All 32 of us won, we are all champions. 32 out of over half a million guys. Think about that. You guys are all brothers to me now regardless of the outcome I'm rooting for everyone. Day 1 was some of the most intense racing I have ever done, supernasty thank you man for such a battle we really put on a show for those guys in the studio. Brian man same for you. Such an awesome demonstration we put on in that last race. I'm very proud of everyone and myself as I did not go in to this knowing the outcome or thinking I would make it to silverstone..... It was a blessing meeting all of you guys. I hope it turns into a lifelong friendship and I can't wait to see you guys again at silverstone......

Congrats to all of you, really hope they give good coverage to it in the show so we can see what all happened and such.👍

I'm guessing the T500 wheels you were on were fairly new (hopefully). Do the the pedals still have the lovely dead dead zone for like the first ~15% of travel that makes it very difficult to trail brake?? I'm wondering if Thrustmaster ever anteed up and decided to add the 50 cent spring needed in the design to get rid of it.

oh, yeah that's there. Not that hard to get used to though since GT is cool enough to give us pressure gauges. Just makes one more thing to pay attention to. By the 3rd lap of the 1st race I was pretty adjusted.

I don't know how new they were, but there was some breakage which led to delays and a shortened number of GT races. Some of the pedals sets definitely had dead zones and minor calibration issues. Any really bad units were removed from the competition though and we were rotated fairly through the pods I think.

Having never used a T500 before, it was a bit of an adjustment, but from what I saw, I don't think the wheels had any impact on the results.

Each one of them earned their way in. Congratulations, enjoy the ride and for the one whose dream will come true, don't forget about us little people. :)

As for me, New York was a rollercoaster of emotions going from nervousness (my right leg was literally shaking at times), to utter relief, then cautious optimism, excitement, and finally that uppercut in the jaw that pretty much told me that I didn't belong to be in the competition in the first place.

Whether I'll be back next year, what I can guarantee is that I'll at least set a time on the board. I'll definitely be helping out people getting ready for the Academy in whichever way possible but if someone needs a spot, I'll likely give it to them.

Well it sure was a pleasure to meet all you guys, what a great group. Seriously. Funny how we all share the common bond of GT5, and come from so many different backgrounds.

Congrats to the winners, they were each prepared in their own ways for the challenges of the competition. Thanks to Sony and Nissan for treating us so great. 👍

Made it home last night at 2am :)

Jesus really? I got home around midnight. You must have had a nasty delay.

I'd also like to second what smeadows said. It was a pleasure meeting everyone in NYC and I'm looking forward to meeting you guys again in Silverstone

I really hope they show me driving stick for the first time on the show, it was pretty comical, as I can imagine many have had the same experience. That whole thing was a blast.

Before I forget, my first NYC experience? LaGuardia's public restroom. :yuck:

Margherita Pizza at Johns made up for it, though. Nothing compares to it on this side of the country.

First off I would like to say that it was really nice to meet all of you guys in New York! It was nice to have a great weekend with a bunch of car guys all from different backgrounds with similar interests. Everyone drove their hearts out, kept it very clean, and moved at a staggering fast pace. Monticello was an eye opener for me, and an absolute treat. Hope everyone is proud of themselves because you all deserve it. Good times.
Cheers, Dan

Congrats everyone, I'm really envious on your situation roght now :D It's really amazing how tight bonded this year's group seems! I want to wish good luck to everyone going to Silverstone, but also I'm sure the situation must be difficult to accept for some but I tell you good luck next year and don't give up!

Alright so time for my big post :) This weekend completely wore me out both mentally and physically, so I'm still struggling a little bit to wrap my head around everything that happened. I will say that it was an unbelievable roller coaster from start to finish, and hands down the most intense weekend of my life.

A huge thanks to Nissan, Sony, PD & Spike for putting the effort into running another GT Academy season. The opportunities that you create brings dreams alive for those of us who likely never would get a shot any other way. Thanks to Heitkotter and Doherty for putting on a great show over the past few years that have allowed this competition to continue.

Thanks to everyone on this forum, and on psn, and on Facebook for your unbelievable support. I can't believe all the thumbs up and pushes forward I've been getting, and it's certainly helped get me to the top 12.

Thanks to Wardez for your practice lobby; I don't think I'd be here without it.

And also thanks to all of the friends I've made playing GT5 online over the last few years who've made training and practicing and racing an absolute blast. Especially guys like Fabian, Daryl, Rob, Mrjones, Ice_Warden, Azbay and all the other regulars to my CLEAN!PRO!Spec/Stock lobbies over the years :)

I had a blast meeting everything in New York. Finally putting some faces with names was awesome, and meeting those of you I didn't know before was equally cool. No matter what happens moving forward, this weekend was an experience I will surely never forget. The races on GT5 were super clean and I couldn't have asked for anything else especially with all the pressure on everyone.

To those that unfortunately didn't make it though: hold you're head high. You still beat 400,000 other people, you had the experience of a lifetime, and you have shown you have the abilities to compete with the best in the country. Most importantly, you're still eligible for next year and now you know what you need to do!

To the other 11 finalists: I am thrilled at how close of a group we became so quickly. Every one of us is qualified to be in England, and any one of us could win the title. I'm sure the pressure will build as we all prep for Silverstone and our competitive spirits will take over, but whatever happens from here on out, we're heading for a once in a lifetime experience together and I hope we can put on a hell of a show for everyone while being respectful. Best of luck to everyone. With a group like this, whoever gets this ultimate prize will definitely need to earn it and will certainly deserve it.

Whats up everyone!

This weekend was an intense one. We were under a ton of stress. Emotions ran high and some tempers flared during the eliminations.

But it was all worth it for me. Meeting all the contestants was awesome, cant believe how cool everybody was. Also meeting Boris Said and Danny Sullivain was epic. They were so easy to talk to, and they gave us great advice aswell. Plus having Boris come up to me and acknowledge my driving off camera was the best part.

I just wish we could all be winners. Seeing your friends having there hearts broken by being eliminated isnt very easy. Specialy knowing how much passion the contestants have for the sport, you just cant help but to feel bad for them.

Its been a friggin epic experience meeting everybody. And to all that didnt make it this year, good luck next year.

EDIT: And by the way! I am the 4th TRC member to go the Silverstone! Wooooot!! Go TRC!!!

w00t! Now you just need to break the TRC curse of finishing 3rd (3wide and myself) and go straight for that #1 spot! Do it!

Armen will do well. All the desire, raw skill, and open minded attitude needed. He got faster with every additional minute of seat time. The instructors will get a lot out of him. 👍

PURE came up empty in the US this year (although Pat makes it something like the 5th or 6th FMSC graduate in the mix :D ) but being global we still have Adam to pin our English hopes on. And that's a good bet to make. ;)

haha, sounds just like Austin last year. Can't wait to see how far Armen can go.

I always root for the underdog though :P

So yeah, Armen, Pat, and any other guys who have had bad luck getting to this point or have hardly no seat time, give the other guys hell.

Yeah, Adam and Pat's (he raced in PURE Spec Triplets as TheSonRises most recently) gotta make up for all our misfortunes; Jason having his health problems in the first year, me and Rees falling on our faces out the gate last year, Dennis missing out just barely on Nationals this year, and you and Rich getting that fat curveball being thrown at you with your pants down as well.

We've got two great shots at having Pure alumni becoming GT3 drivers.

Ditto on that.

This will be the most competitive field ever and that will only make GT Academy even more credible as a method to find talent. I do hope that the right people are watching so that those that just miss out can continue chasing their dreams. 👍

Don't worry. We'll have an American PURE member in next year. Looking right at ya. :sly:

Indeed you did haha, so yes, you will definitely heal some wounds should you make Chicago the GT Academy capital of the United States 👍

Are we allowed to say exactly where everyone finished outside the top 12? Also does anyone anticipate for any reason not being able to attend race camp?

Iamsupernasty, I guess it's not too bad having my name misspelled as "others" who raced in your Spec Lobby ;)

Lotsa fun running with my brother Daryl, and my other brother Daryl, Meesta Jones, Azbay and many other great guys in your lobby. Always had some good and funny conversations on the mic with everyone. Real life has limited my participation in your room recently but I do want to say I am sending positive mental waves through my aluminum foil headgear.

Good luck to all the SNAILs as well. My fellow D1 brethren shall go forth and have some fun in the land of the Union Jack.
