Iamsupernasty, I guess it's not too bad having my name misspelled as "others" who raced in your Spec Lobby ;)

Lotsa fun running with my brother Daryl, and my other brother Daryl, Meesta Jones, Azbay and many other great guys in your lobby. Always had some good and funny conversations on the mic with everyone. Real life has limited my participation in your room recently but I do want to say I am sending positive mental waves through my aluminum foil headgear.

lol sorry Joe. Post updated :) Great to hear from ya. Thanks for your support! It means a lot :)

We haven't run that lobby much recently anyway. Life has been busy for everyone this summer. Looking forward to catching up with you again sometime soon :)

Sorry, I forgot about that since I was at the front of the grid. :sly:

setup... knock down...

Lol you win this round :)

That combo was not for me apparently. Put us on SH in 100% rain though and maybe it would have been different :)

Are we allowed to say exactly where everyone finished outside the top 12?
Doubt it although I wasn't privy to that info anyways.

So one podium in six races counts as "front of the grid" now? I must have missed the memo.

This feels like a good time for a "Cars" quote.

"He knows my name! He knows my name!"

I was just messing with ya Bill. You can't credit everyone who ever raced with you...much of that list would be long and forgettable...especially the large percentage of people who thought the "Clean" part of the title was optional (like 99% of the public rooms) and were subsequently booted.

Again, great job and good luck!

So happy for you guys, and nice to see some guys in the 30´s and 40´s in the rankings making it to Silverstone.

I´ll be cheering for the guys who ended up going to the camp with a 17´9 time, because it gives me that "it could have been me" feeling.

Also happy to see that you guys had a great time in the finals 👍

I know others have put some great posts up in regards to their experience. I won’t go into too much detail, but I would like to give out a huge amount of gratitude to Nissan, PlayStation, Spike TV and many others that contributed to help making this an awesome GT Academy and certainly the best yet! I had the pleasure of attending last year’s National event and I have to say even with that one being great, they really stepped it up this year! I can’t imagine them having a better National final next year but I am sure they will find a way to do so! There is a huge amount of talent behind the scenes.

And to the familiar and not so familiar faces this year at GT Academy 2013, it was an absolute pleasure being with all of you this past weekend!! I have never seen a competitive group of guys bond, respect, and show the amount of maturity ever, then what all of you displayed this past weekend!! You can say this was an experience you will never forget, but I would easily have to say this was one you can’t ever forget!

I am really looking forward to Silverstone with all of you!! Have safe travels and I’ll see you there!!

To those that didn’t make it beyond NYC this year, keep trying it’s not over. It’s been three years in the running for me and every year I fought harder. Do the same this year and next year you will be moving on even further! Best of luck to all of you

I'll keep this short :P

It was fantastic to meet everyone who made it to New York, and once again compete against those who made it in 2012 as well. While the weekend certainly didn't end the way I hoped, I can in no way take away anything from the Top 12. You guys deserve it for both your performances and behaviors. All the best to every single one of you at Silverstone!

I just wanted to stop by and say this past weekend was incredible. A big thank you to everyone involved. It was really great meeting all of you guys, and the best of luck to all 12 of you heading to silverstone!

While I didn't make it this year, I plan to take this as a learning experience. I now know what I need to work on and improve in order to make it next year, and I plan on working on all of these aspects. So definitely plan on me coming back for the 2014 finals :)

Just wanted to say what an amazing weekend. Enjoyed meeting everyone. Definitely made some good friends this weekend.

As far as the competition goes the intensity was really high and made sure you had to bring your A game. Was so happy they had some real car stuff this year. Was awesome to get to do a lap in a Nismo 370z. Made me seriously consider trading in my Nismo 350z since it was such a nice car.

The opportunity Sony, Playstation, and Nissan are providing us is amazing. To think that in a month one of the 12 of us will be a factory Nissan driver is really amazing. I intend to give everything I have to win that seat but know it won't be easy.

For those that didn't make it this time around just think there's 12 less people to beat next year. Just rededicate yourself to making it and you will. As much as it was amazing to know I made it in it was rough to see my new friends get eliminated. I wish only the best for the rest of you and hope to see you in the finals next year competing to be my teammate.:D I hope.

Pleasant surprise... Just finished getting back into real life and I only blew open my budget by $875 in preparation and travel expenses. Even fake racing isn't cheap.

Whatever.. my ATT bill isn't the stuff dreams are made of, they can wait. ;)

A little memory of the lobby we all practiced in :D! Was a crazy race this! I still remember the qualifying when Timeattack came in 0.07 under me, then adam did the same to him :D! Good fun!

Great race Tidgney ... I remember that race as being one of my favorites among this years finals training.

Gonna miss those races. A shame we only have them once a year.

Sent my T500RS back in today for a refund from Amazon.

Tore down my cockpit also so I can finish building it and paint it in preparation for home interviews.

Gonna take a much needed break I think. Will set up my G27 again in a few weeks, although I kinda fell in love with that Thrustmaster. Chances are I will buy it again once the PS4 is released and they confirm compatibility.

I think I'm gonna stick with my G27. I wasn't very fond of the T500 at the finals.

I believe I did so well at the nationals was because of the t500... I was twice as competitive on the t500 as I was practicing online with you guys with a g27. The more realistic the better IMO

I didn't get enough laps to judge the T500 other than "rubbery". It's closest to how my Pro would feel with minimum feedback. The pedals felt okay except I could only use the edge of them but that's more on questionable ergonomics. Paddle shifters were a drag but not because of the fixed position. They were so far away from reach, I ended up one-handing it just so I could flick it. That's a deal-breaker so I'm back to waiting on whether a new wheel will come out specifically for the PS4/GT6. If not, then a G27.

Thats odd... The t500 is pretty bad on the realism front. The whole time I was using the t500 I felt completely disconnected from the road. Pretty good for a boating sim though. ;)

The FFB in NYC was turned waaaaaaay down.

With FFB 5, it feels way more real than my G27 with FFB10.

Yes I would have to agree. I couldn't see the setting at Nationals being higher then 3 maybe 4/5.

I enjoyed the wheel and rig combo rather immensely! It was a pleasant surprise since the last time I used one at the '12 Nationals.

Im still happy with fanatec. The gt3 is still easily the best FFB wheel I've ever touched and the clubsport pedals have no peer.

They looked great, not so great for tall guys

Some of you guys keep mentioning PS4/GT6 like they are going to co-exist. GT6 is not compatible for the PS4...or so I have seen on several PS4 sites. PS3 games will not be playable on the PS4 and apparently GT6 is not going to be re-engineered to play on the PS4. The only way you will be able to race on the PS4 will be when they come out with GT7...or so I was led to believe. You guys may have some inside scoopage from Sony though.

LOL, yeah they did look great. I think it came down to which rig you where in. I noticed some of the pedals were slid all the way forward while others were all the way back. Either way I made it work as did others. 👍

Although true from what we can read online, I'm wondering if they will make two versions of the game, one for the PS3 and one for the PS4. From what I can read the PS3 isn't going away and games will continue to be developed and released for that system along side the PS4.

Either way it would be a huge bummer to not have a GT6 based game for the new PS4, and I think it would be a huge mistake by SONY to not do so.

Oddly enough, the rigs were realistic in duplicating the usual problem with tall guys and many sports cars. I've sat in Miatas and Porsches and both required the same awkward position. The 370Z was definitely more comfy.

Those were also designed, built, and painted by the Corvette C7 design team for E3. So maybe the just wanted Nissans to seem cramped. :sly:

I don't remember where I read it, but there was an interview with Kaz recently where he said that they are "evaluating GT6 for PS4, but it will most likely evolve into GT7 by the time it's done."

In other words don't hold your breath for GT6 on PS4. We'll be waiting a while and it will most likely become GT7.

That's what happens when you allow the competitor design your rig. I wonder if the C7's like that.

At least it was hilarious watching Boris having a go. I'm sure he's used to driving a car like a jet ski by now.

Hi guys! I just got back to San Francisco, I stayed an extra half week to play in NYC.

Congratz to all the US finalists, and an extra congratz to the top 12. You guys really deserve it and I hope to watch a competitive and exciting series in silverstone!

It was a pretty eventful and surprising 2 days. It was nice meeting all of you, there were alot of mutual respect for one another as competitors.

I will be making a run at it next year, I hope to see familiar faces =D.
