So well done to Holland for getting third, which I don't think many people expected before the tournament with the squad they have got, on paper it looks like they had three players you would call world class, Sneijder Robben and Van Persie but the other players have made a name for themselves like Martins Indi, Depay, Blind and Janmaat.

If you look a bit deeper at their results they haven't really done that well, had a brilliant result against Spain then they beat Australia but the Aussies made them work for it and they beat Chile but Chile made them work for it, they then needed a late comeback v Mexico and penalties to beat Costa Rica before going out on Pens to Argentina but they did play well tonight albeit against a poor Brazil team, so well done to Van Gaal for getting them this far.....cant wait to see him in the dug out next season! :D

I think it was money well spent,

Money well spent? Say that to the families of the people who lost their lives building the stadiums.

Brazil has not made a dime off of the World Cup. The FIFA on the other hand...

I'm just shocked Brazil even got this far into the tournament. They are absolutely god awful.

Who hires these terrible referees? He shouldn't even be in charge or any match, let alone a World Cup match...
He was good in Belgium-USA. Made some errors today but he wasn't that horrible.

It's not easy when you have divers on both side every minute :D

So, tomorrow it's the final game of the World Cup :(

I won't be here tomorrow with you guys, so I wish you a good time to you all!!! :D

And may the best squad win!

Common Robben hits the deck like 20 times a match.
No, he gets tackled by everyone because the referees don't seem to do anything against Latin-American teams, and especially Brazil. In fact, go watch Brazil's matches and notice how often they have gotten ''lucky'' thanks to a referee.

I don't see how this is funny to you as this is really ruining football.

Brazil was helped by their Japanese friend against the Croatians, and yes Neymar and co also hit the deck like drama queens on a regular bases. I hate that in general and wish divers that create penalties or sneak a red card on someone this way, would be suspended afterwards for one game through study of video footage. But that's just a little futuristic idea of mine.

Robben although he is a great player, drops himself on the floor in spectacular fashion as soon as you put a finger on him and he does it quite professionally (probably learned that playing for Real). I doubt that in 50% of the duels he seeks, and consequently drops to the floor there was actually much contact.

As we learn from the cautionary tale "Matilda: Who told lies and was burned to death" and perhaps the less contemporary "The boy who cried wolf", the issue of people not having their genuine distress believed comes after they repeatedly fool people into thinking they're in genuine distress.

Robben goes over too easy. Referees stop believing him, so defenders kick him from pillar to post.

That's exactly what I mean. He made the very most of that contact - but it was a contact. The defender stood on his foot:

He made it look like he was faking it  He was diving about elsewhere in the match though.

^There was contact but no referee would call a penalty on that in the dying minutes of a knockout game. Robben's embellishment is what swayed him over.

On an unrelated note, that dive or whatever you want to call it was epic meme material:lol:

Argentina will meet Germany on final for the third time since 1986 and 1990. First Argentina won then second Germany win. Who will win this time?

I'm not sure whether this really is a parody or not but damn hilarious either way.

(Make sure that the subtitles are on)

Meanwhile at "Korean Central News Agency"...

Why not? That's their job. Contact with an opponent before or instead of contact with the ball that results in the opponent losing control of the ball is a foul*, wherever and whenever it occurs on the pitch.

That was a foul. A penalty should have been given. And was.

*Though this is not an exclusive definition - a foul can be any offence listed in Law 12 committed against an opponent while the ball is in play. Other offences - such as Zidane's forehead and Suarez's teeth - are misconduct or unsporting behaviour, rather than fouls.

Tonight is difficult to predict, Germany have been brilliant for most of the tournament and Argentina have been a bit disappointing but they do have probably the best player in the World right now...but Germany have a team!

No idea what's going to happen...

Going by the last game, if you mark Messi out the game, Argentina are toothless. They in return marked Robben out of the game, I can't see Argentina managing to keep all of the German attacking force quiet. I'm going for 3-1 Germany, with Ozil to score at some point.

They did say that they have a 'special plan' for Messi tonight, which I think would be largely the same as the Dutch did...

Dare I say, Germany 2 - Argentina 0.

I just can't see them winning at this point, not that I don't want to, is mostly Germany skill level which is ... well quite tall.

It will be an interesting match, if the referees don't 🤬 it up.
