Already doing my head in.... Managed to do a 2:16.306 now I can't even touch it.... Seriously struggling with La Source, and the Bus Stop... loosing out 5 tenths each sector....

Great laps already from Twissy, Bandit and Ghost. I'm on 2:15.7xx, I'll have another go later.
How did you know what the track would be?
Cheers, I've had to give up for now because I can't log into PSN, but I have another half a second easy when I put a decent lap together.

Yes, you obtain Gold in this final round and the car is gifted to you. As soon as you hit the Gold time, the car is yours, no waiting.

Thanks, looks like I'll have to persevere with this one long enough to get gold. Curse my inability to stay within the track boundaries at Double Left!!

Really excited for this round! Especially since it's one of my favorite tracks in my actual race car :)

Have fun with this one everyone! I will be putting in plenty of laps during this round. Will be good training for my Spa test in a few weeks and the 24 Hours of Spa in July!

Time for a break for now. After approx. 145 miles I'm down to 2'17.612, still a world away from where I need to be. Really enjoying the car and track, the best combo by far, in my opinion. The boundaries aren't so bad, actually pretty forgiving in a few spots, and the car handles pretty good for a PD supplied and tuned car. Anyways, time to clear my head, back at it later. Peace.

@cbarbosa Sorry, but I'm the wrong person to ask for tips. I'm just a below average driver who is just flying by the seat of his pants. You're much better off getting tips from one of the top guys like @GumballCGT , @BanditKarter22 , or @Doodle

Great car/track combo! best Academy challenge yet!

150km in for a 16.9..and still seeing the best part of a second to be had yet. :D

:gtpflag:

@GumballCGT Since you drive the real thing, what FFB streght would be the more realistic on the T500?
Usualy on race cars with race tires I run mine on 2 cus anything above feels realy heavy.

Nice car you got there :P , best of luck to you

Put in a 2:16.955.

Not particularly happy with that- I've been .05 faster to T1, ~.2 faster through Les Combes/Malmedy, .1 left through Stavelot and .3 left in the Bus-stop.

So ideally looking for about a 2:16.5 for starters. Plus I'm going down with a cold, which isn't helping my concentration. :ill:

145 miles is what....30-ish laps?

I'm new to GT and just now to the point skill-wise that I can fairly consistently hit gold trophy times on time trials.

I got really stuck on the Apricot Hills event just a few hundreds shy of the gold medal time. It took, what seemed to me at the time, an inordinate number of days (and laps) to shave off that last bit of time (I am very proud to say that the last time I checked I was ranked in the top 30,800 at AH).

On further reflection, it's probably the case that I put an extremely small amount of effort into the Brands Hatch and Bathurst events, and that I was only beginning to get a small taste at AH of what the guys at the top of the leader board are doing.

So I'm curious about how many laps the better drivers may put in for the Academy events. What sort of routine do you follow? What do you do when you find yourself flat out stuck on a time and unable to improve?

hey i went for practice round on spa track with 15th anniversary gt-r '13 and manage a 2:24, but I'm having trouble on last round and need a least say 2:19 on spa track. A little help is much appreciated. please

Just set a 2:20.685 right now. This gtr is a lot easier to drive then I thought.i thought it is going to be very hard to turn. But there is understeer when you turn in too late

I'm not sure about the laps, just been monitoring my mileage. I'll probably end up putting in an insane amount of miles in like I usually do in time trial events....I'm pretty relentless when it comes to searching for that last little bit of time. My routine usually consists of 1 1/2 hour stints before taking a break for a few hours, then I'm right back at it again for another hour and a half or so. I'm on disability with like no life  so I usually repeat the process several times a day, every day. When I get to the point where I hit the wall, so to speak, I usually go for a walk and clear my head and maybe take an extended break of maybe half a day or so. I also watch the top guys replays to see if I can pick up any little thing that they are doing that might help me out. I watch all 10 replays because there is always something that one person might be doing differently from everyone else that may prove helpful for me. Other than that, its just practice for me and the burning desire to be the best I can be. Some say I'm crazy for how I attack these time trials, but I really don't care because in the end, I will eventually prevail. So my advice to you would be just keep at it and when you feel yourself getting frustrated or whatever, take a break and clear your head. Go for a walk or just lie down and relax a bit. This may not be the best advice that I have given you according to the top drivers as they may think differently, but that's my routine and its worked quite well for me personally so far so just take it for what it is. Good luck to you and hope you accomplish your goals.

Thanks CargoRatt. I have noticed that I never seem to accomplish much of anything after more than hour on the same track. I think I'll try being a bit more committed to something like an hour at a time with a good break in between sessions for the next week and see how that works for me. Best of luck.

We'll not that I would have been competitive anyway but I pulled my right hamstring running like a moron. Gonna be a tough time trial for me

I'm just gonna throw it out there now, this combo is going to be extremely difficult for pad users (eau rouge) because you can't seem to go flat out, oh well there is always next year (if they do one)!

Edit: and that corner leading up to the last chicane....I don't understand why the controller can't be programmed to be able to turn 100%....really frustrating!

Agreed. It's really frustrating not being able to push the limits of a car when using DS3.
