Currently 43rd, but I can easily see another .3 of a second for me.

Not that any of this matters since I'm only 16.. But one day.. ;)

Agreed. It's really frustrating not being able to push the limits of a car when using DS3.

In fact, if any pad users manage to qualify, I will be VERY impressed. Adam_2167, Crank and Samurai do some work, because I know for a fact I can't qualify. If I had known the combo would of been this harsh on pad users I would of practiced on the wheel, but too late now....might give it a few laps for the crack.

I'm a DS3 user and I can't crack 1.20.9xx - watching some of the top guys replays is so frustrating. I'm hoping to learn lines and braking points and now I realise I can't pin it through Eau Rouge. I think this one is going to elude me unfortunately.

@GumballCGT Since you drive the real thing, what FFB streght would be the more realistic on the T500?
Usualy on race cars with race tires I run mine on 2 cus anything above feels realy heavy.

I'm not sure what to set it on with the T500 since I don't run that wheel. In real life the steering isn't super heavy. I'd say it's about a medium feedback where it's fairly easy to steer.

Hmmm would be interesting to hear what setup you guys running 2.16 and below are using.

I managed a 2:19.311 but can't seems to improve, having said that i only gave it a shot for about 30mins, then rage quit . Out of curiosity how many of you guys running 2.16 and below have any sort of motorsport experiences?

Disappointing first run, only 18.2. I managed to go flat out through Eau Rouge and Blanchimont a few times, but I'd lose all that time on Les Combes. I'll try again this weekend maybe, not gonna play for the remainder of the week.

I'm just gonna throw it out there now, this combo is going to be extremely difficult for pad users (eau rouge) because you can't seem to go flat out, oh well there is always next year (if they do one)!

Edit: and that corner leading up to the last chicane....I don't understand why the controller can't be programmed to be able to turn 100%....really frustrating!

I thought it was just me, using the auto gearbox, not being able to take Eau Rouge flat .

I was gonna try it in manual and keep it in 6th, as auto changes down into 5th gear with the lift required to make the turn, but seems like I'll have to dust off my 200deg wheel to get to my target of a 2.15s.

Oh well - Good luck all :gtpflag:

I had a go this afternoon, and started uploading this while I had a go this evening (Although was to tired this evening to really get a decent effort in)! During the afternoon session I was on for 2:14 several times so it's nice to know it's there! Certainly about 7 tenths on the table for myself currently!

Here's my fastest lap though (No live lap as TV decided to switch itself off during the back straight lol...)

By the way, please don't get disheartened on day 1 of GT Academy, there's 13 more days for you to push yourself, don't give up on day 1... HAVE SELF BELIEF!

P.S. Can you pad players not lift slightly? I lift sometimes when I get it slightly wrong and I don't lose to much time?

I simply cannot get the Gold time since I'm using a controller. Kept up with @GTP_CargoRatt right up until Eau Rouge. Followed his line, matched his speed, and flew right off the track. Best I can manage is 1:21.821, and I really want the car since I'm a sucker for unlockables. :(
Are there any DS3 users out there who could provide some helpful tips?

Down to a 2:15.341 for 4th in the UK, think that's enough for today, I was so frustrated at not being able to hook up a lap I did 477 miles over two sessions this evening

Managed a 2:16.315 for 21st in Britain and 185th world wide so pretty happy for first session can see another 0.6 for me to get

How on earth do you guys do Eau Rouge flat-out??? Every time I go flat-out, I understeer and go wide and lose 4 tenths?? :banghead:
Open wide before the turn, turn early and go as deep as you can on the left kink then instantly turn right. I can keep a constant speed of 143 mph coming out.

You mean I'm able to do something you can't. Wow, miracles really do happen don't they? I do exactly the same as @MatheusBond with little problems and hold the same speed, if not a tad more, than him. Its one of the first things I worked on until I got it right consistently. Just do as he has said and you should have no problems. 👍

@ZDUPH That's your problem right there, you're following me , that's like the blind leading the blind.

Unfortunately, after many laps, I have to agree with this... :guilty:

16.8 after half an hour, not only is the middle east deadline the 9th, I also have 2 finals. This couldn't get any worse :banghead:

I seriously suck at this event.:lol:
I swear that I'm faster though when in bumper cam as opposed to hood cam. Must be a psychological thing because I still couldn't get the gold! :grumpy:

Best I could manage was a 2'20.967, not all that impressive I know but it was all I could do and that was just me trying to gold it with the DS3.

Also to my surprise, I managed to get the car as a prize for golding it

I love that, this to me should be how cars should be won In the seasonals events.

I'm having the same problem with Eau Rouge too. I watched @GTP_CargoRatt replay, and even he managed to take in 6th gear flat out. Currently on a 16:9XX atm but i can definitely see another second to be gained if i really persist with it though this combo isn't to my liking so sod it

Enter the run from a wide line, then right as you reach the end of the small curbstone flick it right, you should be good. I spent a while trying to work that out.
However I cannot understand how on earth the leader is going through at 146mph... I can only manage 142, its driving me mad, I'm currently blaming my wheel lol.

I'm only on a 16.2 at the moment on a terrible lap, I'm struggling with consistency on this one. I should be able to get a low 15's an absolute best from me would just scrape into the 14s I think.

Hey guys,
The final round will not let me load ghost from players outside my region!!
I do not have this problem with previous rounds!!
It lets me save them and I can veiw them in the Gallery but will not show them when trying to load in the lap, it will only show ghosts from my Region.

Anyone can confirm that this is for everyone?

Also note for German and Middle East GT Academy: The final round Ends on the 9th of June, a week shorter than the rest !

Also had a similar problem, couldn't see my friends' lines so no comparison runs.

After several disagreements with cones and boundaries, my first 'clean' lap is a 2'15.857 putting me 13th in the UK right now. I can easily see another 0.5, but I'm yet to watch the leader's replays.

Quick question to the top guys: What RPM are you changing at? I've been going to redline but wondering if short shifting will help.

Got gold (2:19.935) and then started working on individual sectors as I am having trouble putting together and entire "fast lap." Got sector 1 down to the point of being just over a tenth off of @K1utch, @Adventuruss (DL'd his ghost when he was atop the US board with a 2:15.5xx) and others on my friends list but really struggling in the second sector with getting the brake point for Pouhon correct and keeping the car on line in the third sector for the final chicane. Spent about a half hour or so today, will be trying to devote a solid hour to it tomorrow and try to dial in the next two sectors. You guys at the top pick these times up damn quick!
