I'm not even near 2:21 yet, I'm still 3 seconds off, and I can't even beat my ghost.

This is really difficult, and I'm starting to doubt my skills...

Is the gold time possible for controller players?

Well, I've golded the DAP Kart challenge and I'm close to golding the F3 challenge with the Senna Tribute, so I guess anything's possible on the controller, but this... this is just aggrivating and humiliating. I think my dreams of making the 2014 GT Academy are pretty much done here...

Well, after many, many, MANY tries, I finally brought home a 2:20.907, and I'm absolutely satisfied. I have never raged so hard at a GT Academy event, even shutting the game off and taking a walk around my neighborhood, but I've finally achieved the gold. To whoever got positions worthy of possibly becoming a GT Academy finalist, I salute you. I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope you all have the time of your life. As for me, I'll stick to my gold controller and my new car.
To those going for the gold, I hate to admit, but I threw traction control on 2. Between just trying to get gold, and having to deal with excessive oversteer, I decided it had to be done. You might want to consider this as well if you're just trying to get the car and not a leaderboard time.
I will say, the car really matches my driver's suit.

Keep at it man you'll get it!

I've got a good line going with my new best lap ghost, but here's where I keep screwing up...

1: I'm hitting it at 6th gear making sure I keep top speed through Eau Rouge, but I have to almost INSTANTLY tap the breaks to get down to 5th gear to avoid either A: going off course or B: hitting the penalty cones.

2: Because they switched from 4WD to FR, that chicane after the back-straight always seems to make me lose grip and lose precious time.

3: Overall tension from the time limit placed.

Without question, the 2014 GT Academy has made me rage so hard, that I now officially compare it to the aggrivating license tests from GT4, and believe me, I'm sure PLENTY of you know what I'm talking about! :banghead:

I wholeheartedly agree with you bud. I have never gotten so frustrated while doing GT Academy events. One moment the car thinks it's in D1GP, and the next it's trying to imitate the Titanic. :guilty:

For Eau Rouge I would just take the more conservative approach and tap the brakes on entry, there are far less risky places around the track you can make up time.

Just relax and focus on hitting your marks. :)

for those having issues with maintaining speed a little tip that will help. You must try and get to the left as far as possible at the bottom of Eau Rouge and turn in at the end of the kerbing, lift off drop back into 5th and keep it flat... Or keep it flat and drop back to 5th or keep it in 6th... Remember it is super steep there and it will wash off speed with even the slightest lift off...

High five man! I agree about the rage, I went outside for some air as well, came back and nailed it inside 3 laps. Coming to the last chicane six tenths ahead of my previous best was nerve wracking, almost missed my braking point and binned it. So glad to have managed it though. Never running this track/car combo again. Never.

*after 15 more attempts, here's my reaction to failing at Eau Rouge again and again and again...

:nervous:... :ouch:...... :banghead:... 🤬 THIS 🤬-ING CHALLENGE!!! I'M DONE! I'M DONE! STICK A FORK IN ME, I'M DONE!!!

I don't know HOW I got 2:22.845, but I CAN'T BEAT IT! SCREW IT, I'M OUT!!!

To the player who's going to win this, I wish all the best in your venture to Silverstone and I hope you do great out there! As for me... I'M DONE WITH THIS!!! *flips the table and storms out...*

Finally settling into a groove. Down to a 2:15.606 and my sector times are improving. It was gonna be a .4 but screwed up the final chicane. :(

Hoorah brother! Glad to hear you got the gold! It's incredibly satisfying to say the least. Well done! ;)👍

Currently holding 6th in Canada.

@Johnnypenso, you know you want to best me.

Does anyone know which of the top 10 Canadians are eligible?

...Add to this list please.

Edit: my time is a 2:16.760

First time out, I actually completed the lap and got an easy gold. The car fits my driving style quite well. :D

Now it's just a matter of seeing how high up I can go up the US rankings.
