After 2 hours waiting for the updates to download then install I was finally able to play!!. First laps in GT6 and I have a 2'18.0. Ive gotten a lot slower and everyone else has gotten a lot faster all at once!!

Some very impressive times at the top.

I know in GT5 the best technique was to brake then coast into the corner before picking up the gas, GT6 seems to be respond much better to trail braking and then slowly transitioning to the gas? A little advice on how best to drive these beasts would be appreciated!

Man.... After maybe 2 hrs? Of trying to better my time from yesterday I finally beat it.... by only by .021.... 🤬 🤬

Even more annoy than that I still have another .350 tenths in the first sector alone!!! arrrrghhhh!

Well, I was finally able to achieve gold with a time of 2:20.904. It's funny, because overall, the lap wasn't a smooth as my previous record of 2:21.150, except for 1 corner that I managed to nail just right and gave me the gold.

This was very challenging. Not Impossible by a long stretch, but challenging. Especially with those cones.

The car handles great too, except when it breaks loose, it really breaks loose.

I have to admit that was a very good lap. I am not a TT guy so I may not come back to this after I put an hour in tonight but I'm at 2:17.29x...can't remember the placing...maybe 16th?
Don't quote me but I think Lapierre, Mikegt3, hotboi and maybe thankseh are out, of those I remember in the top 10. IIRC you are sitting 4th of the eligibles..but like I said, don't quote me:lol:

Great lap. Keep at it and you better start looking for flights:cheers:

Awesome lap. You're currently 17th on the Canadian Rankings.

I don't see why. Getting Gold and thus receiving the car as a prize is not that hard. I did it in a few shake down laps just getting a feel for things, and I am far from being a great driver. You can't expect things to be just given to you all the time, plus it just feels better when you actually earn them. 👍 Keep at it, the Gold time is not that hard to achieve at all.

As for me, I'm going to enjoy this combo the next to weeks. The car handles pretty decent and I'm not too bothered by the track boundaries as I practiced pretty conservatively expecting tight boundaries anyway. So no complaints here as far as the car and track goes, its going to be an enjoyable time. Good luck everyone, hope you all reach your goals.

Well said. And if I managed to gold it, pretty much anyone can with a little time and effort. I couldn't even manage Gold times for Round 2 or Round 3 (of course, there were no "prizes" for golding which directly related my level of effort.)

on the T500? well 5 is way too strong... (not realistic enough, or a car without power steering) So I usually run 1 or 2... I just find I can't get a fast enough turn in with it because its 1inch bigger well, and the FFB is so much more realistic being belt driven... I love it, but for these trails it is slowing me down.... :S ... With the G25 I run 2 or 3 because the dead zone on it :yuck: ....

Hey Dion 👍

Not in relation to this TT as I only spent 10 mins golding it with the pad last night, but in general...

Most cars don't understeer under braking like they did in GT5 (GT6 generally has a lot less understeer than GT5), so you can brake later, and use the brakes to keep the nose nailed on the way in to the apex, then pick up the throttle straight away.

Alternatively (this works on a lot of cars), you can brake deep and hard, and then come off the brakes more abruptly before the apex and the rear will swing round, pointing the nose in to the apex (brake release oversteer)... if you balance the rotation with gas at the same time (to manage the weight transfer) you can get very quick exits.

Best thing to do is to watch the top guys replays... and then load their replay and yours in to the data logger.

Good luck mate 👍

Yes, on the T500.
I´ve try 2, 3 and 4; 2 is too light for me 4 too heavy so 3 is like the sweat spot.

1. Thanks
2. That's not my username, it's the currently place I was on (in Germany, Europe or world wide, I don't know...)

Just realised that after I set a time myself

Had a go without ABS or TCS on the combo and managed a paltry 2.17'686. Easily lost .5 to .75 of a second on that lap in all the different sections (even corners). Watched MrQ_GREEN's no TCS+ABS best and I can see where I'd be able to claw back even more time if I was to put the effort in over the next two weeks (probably not this week because I haven't worked on that assignment I've been talking about a couple of pages ago!).

The car handles like a flying pig. Seriously, as you try to thread it through Eau Rouge it reminds you of one, wings and all! The handling feels very odd but I suppose it is a heavy car. Also interesting to note that GT3 rules do allow the use of ABS and TCS so running the TT without these is probably the biggest handicap you can apply to yourself

Long way to go and to those of you eligible for Race Camp this year give it your best shot!!! :D

There are 2 things that imo are wrong:

1 - I strongly believe that in the last corner of the circuit the first set of cones are misplaced.
2 - Why hitting the cones you have to restart? It should be considered invalid lap! It kills all momentum you have in your laps!

It happened to me in my last lap, was doing great and on the last corner, first set of of cones it stopped my lap, killing all my chances of applying the fast lines I did on that lap...

Please bare in mind its only my opinion...

I agree about the cones actually disqualifying you and booting you from the track. It's annoying and kills your momentum...BUT.. I can see why it has to be that way. They need to reset the track so that the cones will be repositioned where they should be, or else on your next time around, the cones will remain scattered. There are no track marshals or track hands, lol.

👍 As an alternative, maybe a 20 seconds wait period... :) in slow running

Currently sitting at 2:16.766 after my first few laps. I'll keep my signature up to date, last year my goal was to get into the sub 19s times, this year I'll aim for a 15.x! I was quite surprised to see my first completed lap to be top 100 regional. I finished tied for 125th last year. Guess its still early.

GOLD! GOLD! GOLD! Yes! 2:20:553

EDIT: TY all for "like" and a special thanks to @GTP_CargoRatt and @StarLight for the incentive!!

Chicane is costing me two tenths minimum every time. Immensely frustrating because I can string a lap better than Silverstone last year.

Silverstone first sector or Spa Chicane. I don't know which one I dislike more.

2:20.9ish, and looking forward to finding out how much I can shave off that.

It seemed like the gold time was much easier than Bathurst, but that's probably because I haven't spent much time in 4WDs and I'm getting accustomed to the car/track combo much more quickly.

The GT-R GT3 is rear wheel drive(unless your talking about the GT-R street car?).

Down to a 2:15.729, 11th in the UK and 107th worldwide. Plenty of time to be gained yet, though it's looking a tad more difficult than it did yesterday.

Quick half hour today and got a 2:15.175.. going to leave it at that for now because I can just see myself getting frustrated. 3/4 throttle very important in this car but I'm struggling with the DFGT pedals:mad:.

Sub 15's is my goal for this, if that qualifies me then great!

Good luck fellas!

EDIT: Is there anyway to turn these god damn lines off.. I want to see ONLY the ghost!

That's hardly fair. Canada has only two people in 2'15s... UK has what, 20?

Dang it man I.jeep.messing up. Im literally at a 2.14.986 and I.messed it up 3 times in a row grrrrrrrr. Need a break plus I have work. Sigh. Lets try afain tonight
Is this a typo, or are you challenging me to find almost 2 seconds from my previous time?

The lines are bloody annoying, I really don't get why they didn't put an option in to turn just them off, they're so distracting!
