the game is the oldest version without any updates. Initials are disabled.

the organisation sucks tbh i am pretty sure many of them are playing with different settings

I went to the live event in Mumbai today. I didn't have a good experience with the racing pod. Was cramped. And before I realize or get comfortable with the setup, the 10 mins had begun. Was never comfortable with the position of the foot pedals. The screen is terribly positioned. I couldn't see the gear changes on the screen as the G27 was obstructing my vision. While turning the G27, I accidently pushed a button and it ended up showing the rear view while turning! Imagine my nightmare! And they don't think it is necessary to inform us the workings of every button before starting the test. I managed 2:12 laptime which is pretty bad for me. Can do far better!

The car setup was 'sports soft' tyres, I confirm you and it is still a mystery how that person managed 1.59! Also I can assure you the car has been tuned with a different custom gear ratios with shorter time differences. I was already reaching 5th gear comfortably at the turn just before the starting line and while practicing at home it is always 4th gear. Will try for online qualifications now.

My word of advice for those whom haven't tried live events and are going for it- DON'T START THE TEST UNLESS YOU ARE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE WITH THE SITTING POSITION AND THE POSITION OF THE WHEEL AND FOOT PEDALS. ALSO ASK ABOUT THE WORKINGS OF EVERY BUTTON ON THE WHEEL AND HOW TO REVERSE YOUR CAR. YOU WON'T GET A SECOND CHANCE AT THE LIVE EVENT. I learnt it the hard way.

Luckily I snagged a GT Academy T-shirt in a simple quiz contest at the event. :)

1:59:xxxx is impossible with sports soft I doubt even amo87 would get there on ss

Online should be in mid or end May or June since the live events get over during the first week of June.

I had gone today evening it was quite bad not a proper lap since it kept spinning out under hard breaking.
I had managed a 2:10 but it was invalidated.
I feel had they given a person one chance a day we would have fared better since we would get used to the car.

How much real life driving experience do you guys have? And what do you drive? I can handle well without abs so did not have any problems with braking, only was bad at oversteer in the first go.

Online begins in April for Aus NZ so I guess even we would be then

The oversteer was almost impossible to catch for me and the car would not trail brake.
By the time i was on my 4th lap (which was invalidated early on) and got used to it time was up.

License for less than a year.
drive a fwd as daily and certain nights or weekends I use a rwd.

so you ended up like me without valid lap?

Ya, the first 2 laps it was hard to get used to the wheel and I was all over the place. My 3rd lap I managed a 2:20 after spinning out at brooklands while braking and finally my 4th lap I had got slightly off (inside) at Abbey and was invalidated but managed a 2:10.3xx. Even that would not be enough for the live events.

Dont know how people went faster than 2:05

Other people were witty and fiddled with the settings. Lucas did 2:02 himself so.. Maybe organization head will point out. Btw did u not practice? Coz on the first go when i did not even have the game i managed 2:17. Then after practice 2:06. When u drive with a wheel as sensitive as g27 you have to keep changing the input to keep the car in line.

With Racing Softs I am getting 2:00.9 as my fastest lap with a DualShock gamepad (Silverstone GP Circuit and Nissan GT-R Schulze Motorsport in Time Trials).. 1:59.7 is pretty damn fast on Racing Hards! Thats what some rep from the GT Academy told me on a tweet.. That they were running Racing Hards and were'nt allowing people to change the settings at all..
Anyway, hope to get a decent lap during the Online Event, as I feel that's the only fair way to play, coz from what I am gathering here, each "Racing PODS" had different settings and different 'reps' that allowed people to change or not change the settings, which aint fair. If no GTPlanet member is on the leaderboard yet, that sucks! :(
