So is there an online event coming up? Or are they just live events? I missed out on the Melbourne one so where's the next one?. Sorry for all the questions but I'd like to have a shot at it this year.
Online event starts in April, there will be more live events in Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane at later dates that are yet to be confirmed. Check out this article:

I've read conflicting reports for the online event 1. That it will be an Academy download, and 2. It will be seasonal type events in GT6
Any confirmation of either?
same hereNot sure, but I'd put my money on option 1.

Sorry skywalker but you are doing the wrong track mate. You should be around the 1:04 mark, not in the 50's.So what times have people been doing? I do high 59s with no assists on ss tyres.
I'll have to try RS tyres, but I'd guess mid / low 50's should be where its at (anyone into the 40s?).
Its different at home compared to being at an event. An event is also a test of how you handle the pressure.

Make sure you are on Silverstone International, its the one that uses the new pit complex as the start finish, and then turns right onto the Hanger straight.
I'm not sure where it is on the board of tracks, but 52 is the wrong time. It is the layout that uses the new pit complex, turns right first turn and then cuts to the hanger straight.Yeah I've been doing Silverstone International, the 1st on the left on the bottom row when you go to world tracks? I thought it was the short, or should I be picking the 2nd from the left on the bottom, the longer GP track?
There Silverstone Stowe at the top on the far right (best time 52s, but its really technical track).
Im using a fanatec GT3 wheel, with max feedback haha.. maybe I should try with no feedback, think I would spin out every turn!

As for the FFB, only reason I did that is because at the live events people are saying that they have it turned off.
I think you may have been doing Silverstone national, which uses the old pits as the start finish, and uses the club straight.
I usually run on 4 or 5, but after switching to 1 it felt a lot more realistic to me. No way a real car's steering is as heavy as 4 or 5 setting. Real cars are a lot lighter in steering feel. I have driven a Radical on the track and that feels more like having FFB on 5, but that's almost a formula car so that's why.I did the live event at the GP the other day and couldn't put a good lap together seeing as I'm used to having FFB on 5 with electric assist off too.
The way they had it set up did feel like it had maybe FFB on 1 I would say.
Anyone else who did the Live Qualy agree?
I find it a bit strange that they would have us race with little to no feedback, seeing as it is nothing like a real car...

haha all good mate, didn't want you practicing the wrong thing all this time.Yep your right. I was doing national, not international... my bad! 52 was on the Stowe circuit.
High 104s is my time with RS tyres... looks like I'll need to practice a lot more
National circuit is so much easier haha
Holland said he got a 1:03.9 when he went to the GP last weekend at the final, but obviously he was in eligible.
What I don't get is how did he get to the second stage lol.
Ok so here's what I did in one practice go. Now the only difference is that I have a T500RS whereas the live finals are using G27's apparently.
Turned off FFB.

That's the general consensus on settings for both events yeah??
yep, that's right. But they are treated as individual countries. I know for Australia, 28 go to the national final. (14 from live events, 14 from the online event).can someone clear this doubt for me? so when gt academy australia/india online events go live anyone and everyone can participate but only the fastest from their respective countries are selected right?
Thanks Josh, is this likely to be the configuration of the online events? Are we thinking towards the start or end of April? Hmmmm , good idea what i'll be doing easter weekend
These Five Star pedals might come in handy, should put me within +2 seconds of you guys
GT Academy has always been a PS Store Download from memory, could be part of the update.I suppose there's a reasonable chance that the online version of this kicks off along with 1.06. It's getting to that sort of time, and I imagine they need some sort of update to enable the competition.
