Weeellllll.....I am actually a Brit in disguise but I am a permanent resident and I have an Aussie wife and kid....does that count?!?! Seriously though, not sure how that would work out if I were to progress....I think however this is a moot point and we'll not have to worry too hard about that!
Residency (not citizenship) is normally the criteria for competitions. Playing on an Australian PSN is probably recommended too. Obviously only an issue if you actually want to progress.
This is a bit of pain this year how they've decided to release the virtual Academy challenges and not have the official rules and regulations to go along with it. Not sure what the requirements were in previous years but the optimist in me says that you only need the passport of the participating country to compete under that participating country...which probably needs that country's citizenship anyway.
@TAshleySmith if you still have your British passport you may be able to compete in the European Academy under a British flag so I recommend setting up a British PSN and have the details you put in the sign-up form mail things out to someone you know in the U.K. if you haven't done so already 👍
