Just got a message from BalkanKnight via the PS3 - his response to my question was, "unfortunate, all the best to you......still fighting to find my time to shine."

Does this means that he either declined the trip or *missed* the email..

Aaaaaaaahhhhh, this is almost too much to take - it's more stressful than trying to improve my time at Spa was!!!!!!!!

Come ooooooooon Lady Luck !

GOOD LUCK MAN! I really hope you get through! You can do it!

There are five spots still to be accounted for - despite all my attempts in contacting these drivers:

purecry
sabirknight
fourdoorz28
jasonex14
balkanknight

I would technically be the sixth - but @Vaca_Noche was directly ahead of me and received an email (as did I).

At this point, I would say it's possible for your friend to be contacted @iamsupernasty ..

My fingers crossed for him as well sir!

EDIT: I updated the OP to include the top 50 now.
Thanks Bill, Ziptie!!

Just to confirm....if the gods smile upon me, I shall not betray my fortune. I will be there.

Got my email as well. Shocked to receive it on a Sunday but hey...no complaints here lol. Like I told my buddy on the phone..."this $hit just got real". Woohoo, can't wait to meet all you guys and go through this awesome experience!!
Maybe the emails originate from Japan, where it may have been Monday already...?

In hindsight, I'm exceedingly glad I didn't bother this year.

I'm going to Québec during nationals... :)

If I get into racing, I think I'll stick to a low-stress form of racing. I am still thrilled by my lap time... But I don't think such a high-stakes competition is my style. :)

That said, go get 'em Canada! :D

Super stoked!!!! Just got phone call from the guys at Virtual GT
And was invited back to get a full day of prep/training to better
My odds at gt academy :):):) I will have pictures and footage of
What I do tomor looking forward to geting some tips and tricks
From the pros on state of the art simulator :)

Ziptie, by any chance were you able to 100% confirm that Balkanknight declined his email? The email can be caught in the "Spam" mail section. It would be a real shame if he dosnt know.

Also, can you post it in the OP so that everyone is aware of this? maybe in red bold letters.

I messaged him three times on the PSN and told him he was in - and he gave me the statement that I wrote earlier in this thread. At this point, I am done trying to help others as it's what I have been doing the entire time. This competition also is about little details as well as speed and skill. I am willing and won't feel bad if I am able to go to NY because of someone else not being fully committed like I am to chasing a child hood dream, especially since I am so close. By now, he would be outside the alloted time frame for replying.

I hope that came out the way I intended it to.

As gracious and admirable it is for you to be trying to help others with this competition, it's time to start being selfish. The judges seem to look for guys that are in it for only themselves, and while I'm not saying be a total prick through the competition, if you want this, and I know you do, you've got to do what it takes. If he doesn't want to hear it, or believe it, then let him suffer the consequences for not being as committed as you.

I know I'm sounding like a complete douche right now, but this is a competition, and you've got to do what you've got to do. So, personally I completely agree with you taking your own camp and being willing to snuff other competitors. It's the kind of competition I would want, someone who's going to be ruthless and give it his all while being respectful.

Glad my point came across the way I intended it to, thank you sir. You are correct - I want this BADLY!

It has been my dream (as I'm sure it has for many others including yourself) since I was a little kid. I was attending races (merely spectating) at the age of 4 with my family and my parents said only a short while after that I would always be correctly identifying cars at the track, on the road, or in magazines. I have been a turn marshal since I turned the age of 16, riding ATV's since I was 6, have ridden sport bikes for 12+ years (stopped last year as I lost 5 friends in 2012), went to motorcycle mechanics institute in Phoenix that spawned a 6 year career in the industry, haven been a crew member for many years on several of my friends race cars, and most recently worked at a race shop in the city of Lake Oswego, just a short drive from where I currently live.

To say that petrol runs through my veins would be and understatement - I have been accused of having an engine for a heart and an ECU for a brain several times - which I take as a compliment.

UPDATE: Confirmed that the organizers are waiting on the response of more than one driver by the original deadline before handing me a position. I can say that the people involved from GT Academy are very nice and caring, who are just trying to do their job accurately and honestly. Come on your unconfirmed drivers, I will you to respond with your intentions (either way).

Can anyone show that @nofearmx94 has committed to not attending National Finals via a PM or post in a thread..? He is one of the unconfirmed drivers according to my list and I know that he was on the spreadsheet that @outlaw4rc had generated - but that is not solid enough evidence to give to the organizers, it needs to be in the words of nofear.. Ideally if he would reply to the email he sent it would be the quickest and best way.

Sorry for the double post, but wanted it to show up on the boards, rather than just editing it.

Doug (dgafintegra) PM'ed me a while ago that he wasn't going. That won't count since nofear might have changed his mind.

Well I have messaged him (nofear) via PSN and GTPlanet with no response. He is getting close to his deadline time, so if he does intend to go and doesn't find his "A game" soon, he is going to miss out. JasonEx14 and BlakanKnight are also still confirmed as no response - I am unsure about purecry, SabirKnight and Fourdoorz28 - but it would seem at least one of the drivers I have mentioned in this post is already missed their deadline time as I am next in line.

I already took care of it I had a message from nofearmx saying he won't be attending
So now scca should be geting his email in no time 👍👍👍

So today I went karting for some leauge that happens every Tuesday night near Baltimore. before the first race start I couldn't help but notice a few guys talking about GT Academy and that one of them actually qualified to national finals.

After my last race I went up to him and I told him I finished 3rd. He was shocked at first and asked me who I was and I said: "I'm doodlemonoply!" So in all, I met @tguns16 :D
