Annoyingly that was set when I was 2 tenths down on my current best ghost after the second split:crazy:. I beat that ghost by 0.15 so could easily get a sub 35.

I was ahead of lapierre (usually means you're on a good lap) on sector 1 and 2, but my last sector was trash... I need to work on that last sector...I can see a 35 flat.

YES! I've done it, I'm in the 1:34s! The amazing thing is that it wasn't shaping up to be a great lap (the time was 1:04.699 at the second split), but I made up for it with a truly awesome T3.

Oh, and the UK is now tied with Spain for the most sub-1:35 times (14 each) :)

Awesome job Matthew. I knew you'd do it! :D

Oh your T3 must be better than mine, because on my current best my T2 split was 1:04.2xx :(

1:36.950 now, its amazing how I only have about 2 to 3 tenths left to get and times with around a 1:34.950 have about the same to get. Where is all that time at!

Been practising with my new wheel (it's a T500RS), got down to a 34.966 so far (did a 34.951 on my DFGT), but still think I'm a tenth or two slower atm, would probably be on a .7/8 with my DFGT :)

Funny, I'm following the same guy

Had one lap 3ths of The 1:34.433 time going into the chicane, lost almost nothing, looking great only to drive right into the grass off the last turn.

And that lap had a 0.15X slower T2 than what I ran 2 times in a row.

Nothing amazing, but I'm definitely not content after an hour of this.
Does anyone have a high 1'35 replay I could use?

1:36.601 now, thanks for all of the analysis on the last chicane all, I actually can do it cleanly within about 5 mph of the leaders.

1:36.174

Back end stepped out coming out of the hairpin. Getting there though, should be able to break into the 35's. Ive been 6 tenths up by the 3rd sector but blew it at the chicane :banghead:.

Just did 1000km and couldn't come any where near my time last week of 1:35.255.... 3 tenths off and seriously frustrating... loosing way too much time in the hairpin, but mostly the last sector... that chicane seriously P!sses me off....

New time 1:34.961
Ranked 3rd in US

Good Work, I'll be there soon have not had a go lately, I was messing around and dropped my time by .040. I hate to think if it ever came down to the final top 32 that inexperience would stop me from going to Silverstone due to how long it takes me to learn better lines and not having that perfect instinct like the Aliens here lol :P

I takes me a lot longer to master a track than all the aliens but I held my own at nationals. Being reasonably quick in a short period of time (and under pressure) is more important than being able to achieve the perfect lap. I even beat Bandit in a race, and I'm nowhere near his standard so I wouldn't worry too much!

Exactly this, time trialing is completely different to any live event. Time Trialing doesn't give an absolute 100% outcome as to who is the ultimate number 1 driver, you just have to try get an idea from what you see. Pressure, new rig, new wheel all sorts effects people at the finals! I've been to 3 and I know my first where Jann won, I had only just started using a wheel, DFGT was new to me and didn't realise taking shoes off made such a difference (As I found out on day 2!) but I learnt, for my second where I just missed out on day 2 stuff (Long story), and of course my 3rd year where I made it to boot camp!

A good tip to practice for a live event is what me and Ghost used to do, jump to any combo, 1 picks a car the other the track you have 5 laps to put in your fastest. Then move on to the next combo. Aslongs your racing somebody who is a good driver you have a target! Me and ghost always found we had similar lap times at the end with just hundreths usually separating the fastest after 5 laps!

Now I've finally figured out the left hander after T1 and understanding the approach to the chicane, I am starting to pace for 1'34's, quite happy with this at the moment. Need to get some lapping down during the week instead of having 2-3 hour stints at the weekend!
:yuck:

97th overall, 16th in UK #soclose

Steadily easing up the pace a little at a time. Once again very pleased w/ my results thus far w/ the new wheel (from DS3) progress. Hairpins were my biggest nemesis from the get go...gaining much confidence and getting out better.

You get use to doing something for so long like using a DS3 controler and then you finally get a wheel, then your like, I gotta learn this all over again lol. I gotta learn to get rid of some bad habits, adapt better habits and transfer good habits over. No better place than a GT Acadamy combo like this. Having a blast!

Thanks @Tidgney for posting the vid, it's always helpful to get new perspective. Very helpful! 👍

Took me 4 hours to get (barely) gold.
What will be next, a drift challenge ??
Comfort soft on a car like that :banghead:
