You have no idea what you are talking about, even Ferrari F40 should have comfort soft, and even with that tire, it's still quicker by a second at Tsukuba compared to real life lap time ( I have 2 F40s replicas with corrections in my garage ). I have built many real life car replicas, and I spent countless laps replicating lap times, and most of them are on comfort tires, only a handful of tuned cars needs sports medium or soft. The Acura NSX ( stock ) for example uses comfort hard to replicate real life lap at Laguna Seca, even with CH tire, it can be quicker by a few seconds in the hands of a good driver in GT6.

GT6 comfort tires are quite grippy, they are not like in GT5. Even a less than stock power - 215HP Lotus Esprit HC Turbo James Bond replica can do 1:08s at Tsukuba on comfort soft, definitely not possible in real life with street tires, it will need semi slick tires at least.

Not that I doubt your research and investigation into tyres but you really shouldn't be basing tyre choice on how it compares to real life laptimes. There are many, many factors at play in a videogame making such a comparison pointless. Just because you can lap at a similar time to real life doesn't necessarily mean you've got the 'right' tyres on. Unless both the car and track are 100% perfectly simulated there are other factors at play in laptime. Whose to say you didn't go faster at Tsukuba just because the virtual tarmac was grippier than the real tarmac for example?

Now if you're also comparing based on G and individual corner speed I take that back but to compare solely on laptime is not wise.

They have ruined Bathurst with this "white line" rule.

Still good to have Bathurst as a track for GTA, but the white line rule is ridiculous.
i agree i it took me 4 laps before actually getting a full lap done because i went over it i need to do better lap only got 2:14.013 but i keep getting red lap for it

2:14.351
Boundaries, Y U DO DIS. Barely touch a curb in the exit of T2 and I get DQ'd. Not pleased with the inconsistencies.
Brain exploderized a little when I saw I'm still 2 seconds behind. I don't wanna do this anymore, but I know my perfect lap could almost be a full second faster. T-T

157th overall (?)
4th in Canada
3rd Valid

please, give me a trick to do the gold with a DS3,ABS 1 and TCS 2:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Relax! Turn TCS OFF man, 4WD and you don't need it. I also ran with ABS at 0, I use DS3 with AT, drive like the GT6 equivalent of James May but persevere and you'll get it. Brake early, quite aggressively, and focus on momentum. Good luck!

ps I just done enough to get gold and gave up, a 1.18.2xx.

I know what you mean, the tires that I mentioned in all my replica tune are only guidelines, most of them needs somewhere in the middle, for example, the Ferrari F40 with comfort soft, it's faster easily by a second - so it needs somewhere between comfort medium and comfort soft, fitting sports hard will be much to grippy overall and will result in lap time quicker by over 2 seconds even with moderate pace - no even real life BM video pace. Now, anyone can say I'm wrong, but imagine how much wrong would it be to say sports hard it the right tire to compare with real life factory tire ?

When there's a video of real life lap, I also compared the video with my replay, how the car hit the apex, how quick the cornering speed and the elapsed time on each hairpin at Tsukuba for example. When I drive to compare the lap time, I don't drive like most TT driver, I drive as smooth as a real driver would, avoid slides, hit the apex in the same manner.

Now most of the tire I used ( comfort ) always still quicker than real life ( usually by a few tenths to a second ), I know the reasons, which is why I tried my best to get close as possible for the car, from power, weight, handling characteristics, gearing, and top speed. I also try to find top speed of the car on each braking point and replicate that as well. I don't tune replicas to lap as quick or as safe and easy as possible for TT drivers, I make them drive like they would in real life, if the real car is hard to correct when oversteered, then it will be in GT6. Sometimes I even use camber to reduce the tire grip to get closer to the cornering speed and overall lap time. This happens when I have CS tire, but if I go down to CM, the lap time gets slower than the target time even on maximum pace. So I use CS and use some camber to balance grip, this is a good use of PD broken camber  I limit the camber to real life alignment level allowed by the suspension. Let's not get started with LSD, I tuned LSD to replicate real life LSD behavior, so you'll find my replica LSD will be different than most tuner here who wanted easy and safe to drive LSD, which mostly have values close to open differential ( when initial, accel and brake are below 10 )

And my method is still better than people who just stick some sports tire and say this is as good as it gets for comparing to real life car.

Whose to say you didn't go faster at Tsukuba just because the virtual tarmac was grippier than the real tarmac for example?

You just need to drive some of my Best Motoring replicas to see how close they are to real life laps when driven like in real life in game.

This is getting OT :) Feel free to take it on my garage or PM :)

Is the stig still Tiff Needell?
Buckets of oversteer in that GT-R. It doesn't normally handle that way in GT6.

Not sure about the Stig, but if you want that oversteer handling, fit comfort soft or below, you'll get plenty when the GTR pushed hard in mid corner :)

This was a nice challenge. Didn't Expect a GT-R on Bathurst though, it seems to have russruss'd some Australian jimjims. Shame that it doesn't carry the recreated livery of that Group A monster.

Ok I'm freaking out a bit. I read the rules, in detail. Are you not eligible if your PSN account does not have an accurate date of birth? Is there a way to change the date of birth?

Dear all, first thanks for your posts they had help me to gold all three rounds. Yesterday evening I was able to try the latest round, which I have to say...I love it maybe is not the best car to go throught this mount panorama, but still is very tricky and fun. After 160 km i was able to make 2:18:060 very far now from the top laps. Anyways, I would like to ask if anybody knows how I should manage to get to the finals...Do we have to keep impoving our laps in each round??...or just wait for the final one in order to give the best...

Thanks and keep your feet in the throttle!!!

Well, they can't know if you're lying really. Are you trying to get into race camp this year? And no, you can't change it.

It's just a good thing that only the final round counts towards qualification (I hope!), also no GTPlanet leaderboard yet? And how to people find out where they place in their country? Or do they just count it up through the worldwide list?

Yes this year, I would make a new account but Its already too late as of Star Wars Day. :\ Maybe they will let me in anyways because I am legal age. Ill call PlayStation Network support, just in case they can change it.

Best of luck to you! I think your PSN age won't matter, as long as you're 18 IRL.

Just sitting here; metaphorically eating pop-corn while I read all the frustrated comments!

You guys need to chill . I spent a good 4 hours +/- 20 minutes on this combo with a hell of a lot of invalidated laps thanks to the peculiar track boundaries. Remember that it's the next round that matters and not this one ;)

Stuck on a 2.14'3xx. Lost a lot of time on the first corner and from the chase onwards. If I manage to string a lap together I'd say there's about .5 to .75 of a second to make up before I hit my current theoretical best but that's the difficult part!

Yer its annoying starting a lap almost .6 in front of you then finishing up being 1 sec behind

Just the final one. 👍

After a lot of swearing and anti-Australian/Nissan comments to myself I've gotten in a 2:14.830 so far. One tip for those struggling would be to turn off the ghost replay and concentrate on your own driving.

(that's currently 30th in the UK as of writing)

Watch the top replays. They'll help correct your lines and braking points to an extent. Oh and try to ignore my ghost during the three consecutive lefts after reaching the top of the hill. The way I took that section seemed spot on!

I absolutely love this car / track combo :D . Being an Aussie , Bathurst is my favourite track. :)
The GTR is a dream to to drive. 👍
But I think this event has truly been soured by the riduculously unforgiving DQ areas :ouch:
This car track combo deserves more. It is unfortunate that this combo can't be driven to its full potential and is hampered by utterly stupid red lap areas :irked:
I love playing GT 6 and will probably never get bored playing it and have been a staunch supporter of the game.
Sometimes one thinks that the powers that be are hell bent on self destruction.:boggled:
Kudos to all who are able to post a good time

Don't bother too much with the first 3 rounds 'cause they're just for fun. If you want to get to the finals your best bet is to start practicing for the last combo. Anyway, as you may know Spain is probably one of the the most difficult countries where classify, there are plenty of good drivers, so...well, I don't want to disappoint you but you'll need to practice a LOT if you want a place on the finals. Best of luck!

Got the section up until before skyline down pat but the wall at McPhillimy keeps getting me
