And I thought I'd be off the top 1000 by now, people are having even more trouble with this one!
Their trouble is our victory. :) about what place is a 14.76? I think thats what I have, My PS3 i not connected to the internet.

With just about 500 miles of attempts completed, I have exactly 5 valid laps completed. :banghead:
I am at 2:13.485 and I am already sick of running laps here ...

Now imagine it was the 24h Nurburgring... and invalidating your awesome lap by hitting the wall of the pitstop for the Nordschliffe coming into the final straight. :D

I started having the sound cutting in and out as often happens to me at Mt. P online. Quit and rebooted...same issue. Probably done here already.

I don't get what everyone is on about with these "silly boundaries", I have never driven this track and spent 45mins learning the track last night with ds3, I had no issues at all with any " stupid boundaries". If your constantly getting red lapped then as far as I can tell your just not using the racing line and your trying to cut corners. I have noticed though that if you do stray off the racing line you just get sucked out and lose buckets of time. The only red laps I got was hitting the wall and running off track (which are obvious)

DS3 users will struggle with this one, I can't see a ds3 user getting into the 2:12s, although very close. I'm only on a 2:15.0 at the moment with a ds3, Ill be able to get a low 13s pretty easy, I would of learnt the track by then so can then move onto a wheel :-).

I noticed that on my 8th lap the clouds cleared. Is dynamic weather on?

Update: I came back to this later in the evening to go for the gold and after several restarts it started out with clear skies. My first attempt in the wee morning was a single session of about 20 laps. Not sure what this is all about but it's welcomed. Oh and I golded this beast. Don't remember exactly, a 2:18:7**, DS3. If I can gold this I don't see what the issue is.

I noticed different weather over multiple sessions too. I used a shadow as my braking point into turn 1 when the event just started, and I missed it completely the next go at it, haha.

It's mostly the outside of corners that are walled in with white lines at the edges. Going wide across them on the entry to get the optimum exit will net a DQ, like at T3. The only corner I've cut the inside of is the dipper coming down the hill. There's also the pesky tarmac patch that is actually dirt where the outer curb ends on T1.

Nice one! Took me almost an hour just to get the gold! Currently at 2:18.725.
About track boundaries; the only place I'm having trouble with is the dipper. I'm used to hugging the inside wall there, so I have to adjust the apex of the previous corner.

Thanks to Tigneys' video, I'm going to cut a few seconds tonight. I'll probably end up in the 2:14 bracked. Wish I had more time for this.

I'd love to know how many GT-R Black Editions have been rage-trashed!

@ Johnar726: Can't agree with you, mate. Their boundaries are so inconsistent, it's a joke! On some corners, taking the normal racing line & barely touching the white line DQ's you & then in others you can bump the wall with no penalty. Typical PD crap... 👎

PD coding fail. They probably wanted the replays to look like the cars are flicking up dust when the cars drive over that tarmac patch.
Yer hate that part, you can't keep driving straight off the curb because you get DQ, it so annoying go back and watch a V8 supercar lap around here and you can't replicate the line because of the stupid white line rule

Maybe I just need to learn more then lol. As I said this is the first time on this track for me so maybe I'm not pushing the boundaries enough yet.

When I start putting in real times and exploring the real limits I'll report back.

On another note, I do like this track, but its bumpy and shakes the screen a little which is off putting haha so that's my only complaint so far.

Just broke into the 14s. 2:14.989 which puts me 585th overall and 6th in New Zealand. I've never got this high in GTA before. I know where I can improve. This is a lot of fun.

I've done a 2:17.119 (DS3) so far in about 2 hours. It's funny when you think you've done a decent lap to discover that you are like 4 seconds from the top. Well at least this is way more fun compared to round 2 for me.

2:15.625 ds3,triggers for brake accel, stick for steer, sens 4,abs 1 and AUTO cos i'm lazy...Think that is it for me,did not mind this one but like every one else did many a red lap :banghead:...yep strange lines on this one :boggled:...Well i am happy with what i did :).Made my own challenges and won them all so i am a winner :D Good luck to all and have fun

XD Go & do a few laps in free run & you'll see what I mean. This is the way that most people are used to being able to drive on Bathurst... 👍 You only have to read some of the Aussies comments early in the thread.

Finally got gold on this one. 2.18.717 and I'm happy with that. I was starting to get a headache from having to restart a lap because I clipped a wall or went too far over a white line. I can now relax :)

Just did a 2:13.574, though it didn't count because I ran onto the grass at McPhillamy Park. :grumpy: Still, nice to know the potential is there.

I did manage a slight improvement to 2:13.805 earlier in the session, but it's only good enough at 18th in the UK.

Yesterday morning before work, after only about 20 minutes of lapping, I put in a 2:16.600. Then, last night after 90+ minutes, I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't get a single valid lap. How very frustrating!

Ran a few valid ones this morning in the 2:16.high range. A lot more time for me to lose "on top of the mountain".

As for the boundaries, turn 1 boggles my mind. You can run really wide on parts of it, but if you gradually reenter the track, it will invalidate it. However, if you make a more drastic move to the left to get back on the track, you're fine. Makes no sense to me.

Most of us kiwis would probably get bumped down a couple of spots if New Zealand was actually eligible this year lol. Apart from TT-R_Toivo. That guy is pretty much an alien .

New time 2:13:598
Had better 1st sectors, broke a little too early after the 2nd long straight and clipped the verge before last corner so i had to rally around it :D so there's probably a good 2 tenths left to find.
Currently 15th in UK

Haha. I use the blue on the railing to the right as a brake reference. Well, when it turns blue.
