Benzema is definitely out of the French selection for the coming European Championship this summer.

Google translate :

Unfortunately for me and for all those who have always supported me and supported. I will not be selected for our Euro in France ...

In all fairness the French team are going to be leaving out some big names, they team seems to have come all at once rather than spread out.

I rather have Griezmann, Lacazette and Giroud over him anyway.

So you may have seen the 7 games in 6 days ad that Sky Sports are running right now and from Saturday till next Thursday Sky are showing 7 Premier League games in 6 days, next weekend is cup semi final weekend so there are only three league games on that Saturday, hence why we have so many games next week.

When I post the weekends fixtures on Friday I will post those additional games as well, making it a bumper fixture guide. :)

The FAW are investigating suspicious betting on a Welsh Premier League game from last weekend. With the two relegation spots decided, already-relegated Rhyl thumped Port Talbot Town 5-0 with Port Talbot being the team one place above them outside the drop zone and safe for another season.

Rhyl hadn't won a game since October prior to this victory.

Err, also, has anyone been reading about the details of the Olympic Stadium deal?

London Legacy Development Company (LLDC) still own the ground.
Rent is £2.5 million per year.
The god damned taxplayer has spent £243 million 'converting' the stadium for football use.
West Ham United have contributed £15 million.
West Ham United won't pay for heating, lighting, policing, stewarding, goals, nets, corner flags, cleaners or turnstile jockeys.

West Ham say they have nothing to hide, believe it is a "great deal" for the club and the taxpayer, and say the stadium offers a true legacy.

The club added: "Someone renting the stadium for 25 days a year cannot be responsible for 365 days' running costs."

I don't care. If West Ham wanted the stadium, they should have footed the bill for everything. Everything. The taxpayer shouldn't own the stadium at all and certainly shouldn't be paying for its upkeep.

I'd be interested to see Man City's deal for the Etihad as well. I never heard much about it in the press and you'd think they'd have some case to make if West Ham were getting their stadium for cheaper.

By the way, I see this as a mistake from the government, can't blame West Ham for accepting those conditions.

From what I remember, the Greater Manchester Council owns the ground and increased the rent by a large, large margin a few years ago in exchange for giving City naming rights, hence it now being the Etihad and not Eastlands or City of Manchester.

Unsure on the maintanence figures though.

NAC Breda have a deal with the City group that gives NAC a great opportunity to get some players that could potentially bring some higher level players to the Eredivisie.

Spurs recently made a deal with Roda JC aswell. Everyone is copying Chelsea and Vitesse.

Well, for the Dutch clubs it is a decent opportunity, and for the players coming here get a chance to play again.

Edit.

Vitesse is in a obscure way part of the Abramovich club.

How has the Dutch league fallen so far backwards that it has become a feeder league for the English league?

Small stadiums, small tv crowd, little income.
And that will get worse when the top 20 of richest clubs of Europe will be filled with Premier League clubs.

Edit

In the 2014/15 season QPR had the same amount to spend as Ajax. bigger bag of money to spend than Ajax.* And that's our biggest club.

*used the wrong numbers.

Edit2.

It also doesn't help that our talents are being lured away by the big bags of money offered across the borders.

It hasn't just been a feeder to the BPL but to many other big leagues and the players are sometimes are over-hyped such as Bakkali who played 16 matches for PSV but just because he performed well in his matches and scoring just a hat-trick in the one for that reason he rejected PSV contract extension for more wages and demanded a move away so then Valencia got him on a free.

Eredivisie has bunch of good potential youngsters such as Bazoer, Ziyech, Milik, El Ghazi, Kongolo and Willems. All will be probably moving abroad on a cheap. Leaving no money for the clubs to invest in replacement talent.

over-hyped

*COUGH*Depay*COUGH*

Manchester was clearly a step too big. I think the Premier League itself is already too many levels away from the Eredivisie. The money already infected his brain, and because he's a Manchester player he thinks he is already one of the greats.

Bayern win against Schalke 3-0. A huge leap extended over Dortmund for the title.

Napoli-Inter just started. Napoli have to win to close the gap between them and Juventus to only 3 points.

Decent win for United but not a good performance though, but Swansea :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Right call, looked a dive to me, Vardy off for two yellows but Leicester lead 1-0 through Vardy in the first half...

Didnt realise there was a football thread.

Any Rangers fans on here? Old firm game today was excellent, would recommend highlights to neutrals. Barrie McKay scored a ripper to make it 2-1. Game finished 2-2 and Rangers won 5-4 on pens.

After seeing the video numerous times I say not a dive as contact was made, but he played for the contact but putting his right leg across the WH player. That however I think should be a yellow and in this case a red. It's as good as a dive in my book.

It shouldn't been really anything. Ogbonna had his arms around Vardy and it was a tangle of legs. We have seen worse 'dives' this seasons........

Inter win against Napoli 2-0, only 4 points behind Roma for the last UCL spot and making it worse for Napoli, Juventus won 3-0 against Palermo. Parma have secured promotion from Serie D.

Arsenal draw against Palace, this disaster of a season will probably now end up with us being 4th now. sigh

Excellent? Both teams were playing on a level par to the Blue Square Premier. Probably the worst game of football I've seen Celtic play this season, surprised it took Rangers so long to win it. Well, not really but still; Poor level of play in general.
