Barcelona's Bad run continues, lost 1-2 at home to Valencia, a few weeks ago they were nine points clear at the top, they are still top but only on goal difference now from Atletico and a point clear of Real, what's going on with them?!

One of the presenters on a local tv show mentioned that especially Messi looks really worn down, uninspired and tired. I think the season has been too long for Barcelona.

A few weeks ago there was pundits arguing that because MSN had played so many games, that the Premier League teams are obsessed with rotating players.

It will be interesting to see if we hear any of that in the coming days as Barcelona continue playing the obviously tired front 3.

He has played 53 games so far.

This is one of my pet peeves when "pundits" and the journos write teams off after they fall a certain distance behind... in this case, all I was seeing a few weeks ago was that Barca practically had the title sewn up. Granted, they were cruising through each game at the time, but when the gap is something like 6 or so points (in Barca's case, 9), that gap is only a couple of defeats and wins for the chasing pack and hey presto! Suddenly its everything to play for... as has happened here.

It's the same thing that happens after the start of a season, for example if one of the "contenders" has a shocking start, then that apparently seems to mean they will never recover a 15 point gap, for example... if 8,9,10 games had been played, that still leaves a huge amount of matches to close the gap. Seriously, someone needs to take away any crystal balls from Shearer and his ilk.

Excellent? Both teams were playing on a level par to the Blue Square Premier.

Excuse me? There was a Wrexham-Tranmere derby in the Conference on Saturday and I think you'll find we triumphed 2-1 against those plastic scousers. Don't be bringing us down to Dire-la's level. :P

Apologies. :scared:

I agree fully with this.

Nearly all of them write off teams after 5 games and claim that team won't win anything because of a bad start or bad run of games. Yet as soon as they've had a good run and/or recovered points deficits they claim that this team is suddenly the best in the league and has been from the start. So much hypocrisy and it

*Peter Griffin grinds my gears meme*

Excellent? Both teams were playing on a level par to the Blue Square Premier. Probably the worst game of football I've seen Celtic play this season, surprised it took Rangers so long to win it. Well, not really but still; Poor level of play in general.

I think you are a bit wide of the mark with the Blue Square comment. I agree it wasn't the greatest footballing display ever (certainly from Celtic) but the game had everything. A little disappointed it ended in a shootout but it was certainly gripping. If Hearts and Aberdeen can improve on their performance this season, the SPL may actually be interesting for a change.
I think it also adds to the argument of making the SPL bigger, make it 16 teams I say. From my mates who are celtic fans they reckon the only positive is that it forces the board to shake things up a bit.

Cherry on top was Scott Brown missing his penalty :)

Scott Brown was atrocious the whole game, only players worthy of pass marks were Tierney and Sviechenko. Those 2 have a great future ahead.

Agreed, the header was great and he almost did it twice. I would say one area Rangers are lacking is an aerial threat from corners. I enjoy the short corner routines but you cannot use them every time and hitting them into the box seems pointless sometimes.

Yeah, I would say Rangers didn't really have any aerial threat truth be told. It's a weird game looking back due to a lot of missed chances by Celtic but we were still so poor. That should give Rangers motivation to work more on the defence side of things... How Griffiths freekick stayed out I will never know.

Before the game I genuinely thought it could go either way, and would not have been surprised if Celtic got to the final. I think there is a lot more pressure on Hibs to win the cup now but they have a lot of big games in a short space of time.
With the addition of Windass and Crooks, maybe Ball will be back next season - maybe Templeton will be back and injury free:rolleyes: (would like to give him another chance) probable exit of Law and Clark (undecided on Sheils) I think we can have a real go at it next season.
Both of Griffiths FK's were stingers, he was holding his ankle and got treatment on his shoulder, maybe niggles were affecting him?

FA are looking into Andy Carroll's comments after the Leicester game yesterday when he said that the ref evened things up by giving Leicester the last minute penalty, they could also look into Jamie Vardy's reaction to his sending off...

Breaking news, FA charge Vardy with improper conduct for his behaviour after his red card and also charge Leicester for failing to control their players after the West Ham penalty was awarded

Vardy has been charged with improper conduct for whatever he said to the ref and Leicester as well for failing to control their players when West Ham got the penalty.
What Vardy did happens all the time really, the fa have shot themselves in the foot this week, especially after the debacle involving the referee of tonight's game.

Very impressive win by Tottenham tonight, they had a tricky tie away to Stoke but they thumped them 0-4, two goals eac from Kane and Alli and the first Kane goal was a beauty, Alli could've got his hat-trick when he went round the keeper and was faced with an open goal but he hit the post!

Spurs now top scorers in the league with 64 and got the fewest conceded too, Kane now on 24 goals which is more than Aston Villa, Leicester now five points clear.

It's just a shame there can only be one champion, both Leicester and Spurs have been an absolute joy to watch this year. It'll be interesting to see how well Leicester do without Vardy as an out-ball...

Okazaki and Ulloa haven't been terrible, they won't have Vardy's spark, but they will put the work in and be effective.

Okazaki has been a work horse plus he has the pace to still cause defenders a problem. But I want to see Mahrez get a chance in playing behind the striker role and use Damarai Gray to start on the right wing as he's been really impressive for the U21's.

Newcastle 1-1 Man City final score, Aguero and the Anita equaliser in the first half, two good results in a row for Newcastle now, is a comeback on??

Several reports that PSG have made an approach for Mourinho today...

Charlton got relegated to League One tonight, another example of a few rubbish owners murdering Football clubs...

Ronny Delia to leave Celtic at the end of the season, don't think this is a massive surprise.

Big night of Football tonight, Merseyside derby live on Sky, United v Palace and West Ham v Watford too, also La Liga with the top three playing, lets see if Barcelona can get out off this rut they are in away to Deportivo.

Well, Barca found something back. 0-7 and the game isn't over yet. Poor Depor.

Edit 0-8.

Roma are losing 1-0 to Torino at HT. :banghead:

Big match for Real tonight against Villareal. Bale out with an injury.

Rumors are getting stronger that Ronaldo might take Zlatan's place at PSG.
