Well its been big news today but in case you missed it the Jury in the Hillsborough inquiry have ruled that 96 Football fans were unlawfully killed on that day almost 30 years ago, they also ruled that South Yorkshire Police were to blame as was the design/condition of the stadium and ruled that the fans were not to blame, obviously a very emotional day for everyone involved and you have to praise the victims families for their dignity and bravery in the last 27 years, they were signing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' outside court earlier.

That is the one good bit of news for Aston Villa this season.

If he's deemed fit enough for professional football next season he needs to be made captain, they're a team of misfits that need a clear out and Petrov will be their leader. Micah Richards has done well for them this season I believe and I think that having those two around might stabilise the club a bit.

Also, while Agbonglahor was off taking laughing gas and Okore was bad-mouthing the manager publicly, Rudy Gestede was volunteering in Birmingham helping the fight against hunger.

Even Micah has been shocking, you can see why he got left out at Fiorentina last season after being so many seasons out at City he hasn't matured as a premiership defender but probably a championship at best. The only promising players left at Villa is Gil, Ayew, Westwood and Traore. The first team lost to the under-21's 3-0 around a month ago so it's time some of them got a chance in the first team but they have to get rid of the dead weight so Lescott, Kozak, Gabby and N'Zogbia has to go who are probably on large salaries.

Isn't Adama getting his wage increased to £90,000 a week because Villa can't negotiate? Can't imagine he'll stay to long, especially as he has only shown 1 moment of class as a Villa player.

Grealish is talented but I fear he is probably heading down the road of Gio Dos Santos.

Gil hasn't shown much at Villa, Westwood desperately misses playing alongside Delph and Cleverley. Ayew was somewhat decent but they probably won't be holding on to him.

This is a team that had Alan Hutton as their best player for large periods of the season, it's a very bleak situation.

Gil hasn't shown much.... Really?!? It's not like his the catalyst to most of Villa's attacks. Grealish is overrated even Villa fans who backed him last season think the same, he no longer shows edge and Sinclair has manage to make him a benchwarmer. The wage thing about Adama is probably a rumour, whenever he plays he at least provides some support for players going forward especially with Villa having to lack any pace in their team as Gabby put on a couple of pounds.

He blatantly isn't.

I like Gil, but he has not shown enough to be considered premier league quality. He is a great crosser of the ball and I think that Villa should have tried using that and Gestede's height a bit more throughout the season. But I literally can't think of another premier league club that would have him starting consistently.

He's not even in the top half of average rating for Villa players, which can't be seen as positive. Also, when you look at his individual stats he seems average at best. 2 goals and 0 assists in over 1400 minutes, and barely more than 1 key pass per game? Granted, he completes almost 90% of his passes, which is the highest average of players with more than 1 appearance, but is that enough..?

So you are saying Amavi has contributed the most to the team even though he has been out or most the season and Lescott being nearly the same rating as Micah. His scored 2 more goals than most of the attackers in the team and not many people who have played over 1400 minutes have pass success rate of 87% and considering his only had 17 appearances this season, he has contributed more than most players in his position who have got nore than 30 appearances.

Vertonghen should be banned then. It's the FA being all wibbly wobbly on the rules that's the issue.
I completely agree. I was getting on them for their wishy-washy enforcement of rules and not you. 👍

He showed his age with that punch and it will cost him. Maturation takes time but he will learn from this.

Are we really debating over who has been Villa's best player this season? That's like asking which is the best shape of lego brick to stand on.

It's probably been Guzan. He's had to stand around and watch his defense crumble leaving him with a lot more than a goalie should have to deal with.

Even Villa themselves can't decide as the Player of the year awards has been called off.

Sakho has failed to give a 'b sample' test. So it will probably likely he could be banned for even a year or more.

Well, which is the best shape of Lego brick to stand on?

Arsenal supporters will stage a protest at the 12th and 78th minute where people will hold a "Time for a change" little banners/papers. Thought it is respectful enough and is well needed. Wenger's reign and lackluster performance has stayed its welcome.

Bayern have made a €30-40 million bid for Hummels offering a €192k a year contract for 4 years. It wouldn't surprise me if he moves to Bayern as I don't think no other club can offer the same contract.

Also, Chelsea are preparing a £30 million bid for Nainggolan. Really hope he doesn't move, he has been a absolute unit for Roma in midfield with the pairing of Pjanic.

Shame that the second best team in Germany is now just a feeder club for the best team in Germany....

Mama Sakho suspended by Liverpool for 30 days.

Socks that Dele Alli is out for the rest of the season. Hopefully he has learned not to punch other players.

He does have that temper on him, we've seen little sparks of it this season but not like this, we have to remind ourselves that this is his first season at this level...

Yep. I've also read that the other team were actively trying to make him do something he'd regret. However, without watching the match, I can't comment on that.

It's known that Alli has a temper, and this happens to similar players in every game they play. It's something that Alli will have to get used to same as players like Wilshere, Neymar and Rooney etc.

It's a shame that Alli is done for the season, but what a season he has had. He has a massive future ahead of him.

^ Agreed. What's done is done and temper or not the kid has a ton of talent. He has hands down the best goal of the season for me.

Games this weekend

Saturday
Arsenal v Norwich (5.30 SKY)
Everton v Bournemouth
Newcastle v Crystal Palace
Stoke v Sunderland
Watford v Aston Villa
West Brom v West Ham

Sunday
Man United v Leicester (2.05 SKY)
Southampton v Man City (4.30 SKY)
Swansea v Liverpool (12pm BT)

Monday Night
Chelsea v Tottenham (8pm SKY)

Leicester can win the title with a win at Old Trafford, that's very weird sentence!

I'm sure Man U fans were looking forward to the title being crowned at Old Trafford. Don't think they expected that...

By the way, don't think I've forgotten:

23rd April - Graham Westley (Peterborough United, sacked) League One
25th April - Mark Yates (Crawley Town, sacked) League Two
26th April - Kevin Keen (Colchester United, sacked) League One

Sackings: 49
Resignations: 4
Expirations: 2
Approaches: 5

Total: 60

We've hit the magic number! There are 92 teams in the Premier & Football League and more than 48 sackings have occurred this season! Hooray!
