2015 Fantasy/Prediction Formula 1: The Finale

You'll notice for those you picked I have take the black out off, so you can all see who you voted for. Also...you should all look at who I think will win, I did this on purpo

The black doesn't quite hide the responses - sneaky me was looking at the text still visible in the formula bar :P And didn't realise you meant this championship not the real one, oops

No wonder I couldn't figure out that LMS constructor. :irked:

You didn't know about my F1 team? I mean I filed the paper work for entrance and then when asked for filing fee of a few grand and couldn't produce...I was shown the door. I was this close to being on the grid :sly: (*demonstrates with 3 yard sticks how close)

EDIT: I was also this close to having Jenson Button drive for me.

Winner(s) of the Japanese Grand Prix

***No DNFs this GP (no Nasr doesn't count officially as a DNF) so that is why you don't see it this time.

Winner of the Japanese Grand Prix goes to @ROAD_DOGG33J making it his 3rd win this season and the most at the moment of any active or inactive player. Thus increasing his CP after only using a single one to get the win, and more importantly (for him) keeping his CP lead over all other players.

As for the points, the leader still remains @Barra333 but with this weekend proving to be tough with several notable drivers having bad drives, points were lower than usually seen and those at the top took heavy hits. Thus allowing last weeks winner @aarror to gain. So there is a tight race for the front between @Barra333, @aarror, @TRGTspecialist, @ROAD_DOGG33J and @sems4arsenal as we go into the final five GP of the season.

The winner of the WCC portion this round goes to @aarror, who narrowly beat out LMS and TRGT. Making this the third WCC round where TRGT is narrowly beat to the win by a fellow rival.

The WCC seems to have a less dramatic race for the title as the gap still remains a bit large between points leader @TRGTspecialist and second place @tbwhhs but there is still plenty of possibility for second or third (now aarror as well after gaining two spots). But will the consistency of TRGT prove to be what seals his win? Or will the CP advantage of his rivals prove his downfall?

My thoughts and hints as we go into the final races of the season.

TIPS
*For tips, everyone should be trying to utilize the bonus points from early submits to give them a chance at gaining just that little margin needed to win. If Road had not placed his votes at the time he had, @DK would have won. Thus proving how important such a small item is.

*Another tip...pay attention to who didn't finish the week prior, those who don't finish don't cost you CP. A simple reminder for example. If you picked Hamilton last week, his not finishing wouldn't cost you a CP this week if you picked him again. One or two did where others didn't. Though on that note, Massa was a popular pick last week and utilized this week without any expense, which tells me you guys are aware of how this works (which is really great).

*Final tip, remember you still have points saved from the crown jewel events and what ever CP you end up not using by the last GP. So try to figure out now what you want to do with those and how you can win or at least get with in range to win.

HINTS

*Watch out for Road in both championships and Aarror, they have plenty of CP to take out whoever they want and gain it back in the same round. Watch out for DK in the WCC, he may be a bit further back but he now holds enough CP to do a set up (that I will not give away for obvious reasons) that will help him possibly win. @sems4arsenal is another one to watch out for in the WCC as he quietly sits fourth he's probably the dark horse if not aarror.

*Last hint...don't worry about an @LMSCorvetteGT2 win in either championship :sly::(

New form is up with one final question for the season, the questions up to now, while fun for me have mostly been to gauge new rules and try to decide on a prize to give the winner of the WCC that will be one of a kind. This can also be extended to the WDC if wished upon. The Prize will be shown either by Brazil or Abu so keep a look out.

RUSSIAN F1 GP PICK FORM

@LMSCorvetteGT2 For the avoidance of doubt when you're working out bonus points I submitted my picks after FP3 was confirmed over (my submission was before the official end time, but after the red flag for Sainz's crash and them confirming the session would not be restarted).

The winner of the WDC for this weekends GP is @Spacegoat marking his second win of the season.

A shake up in the overall points has seen @aarror take over the lead from @Barra333 as he dropped to third and @ROAD_DOGG33J taking over second. The fight from the top to seventh is only split by 45 points and with the max total of points up for grabs at 364 the fight is still quite close going into the last four races.

This race had the second lowest avg. points scored this season (Hungary still being the lowest).

For the WCC @TRGTspecialist, @sems4arsenal, @ROAD_DOGG33J all won this round for that championship. This marking the sixth win of the season for TRGT and further extending his lead in the championship over everyone else. This marks the third win for sems and Road. @tbwhhs is 20 points behind TRGT and the gap from first to third is more than double that, but with 352 points still up for grabs going into the final four races the championship is still very much up for grabs.

I've also posted up a new excel sheet that shows avg points for each race, and each players avg points scored up to now. It also shows all your points for each round and bonus points as well.

Overall Points of 2015 season

Also the highest picked car of choice was the MP4/4 and 2 votes for the Lotus 33 and 1 for the Benetton B195. So I'll randomly pick a winner out of the nominations given and over these final races we'll perhaps see what the prize for the WCC is.

I might have to sit down and plan ahead with CPs and such. To this point I have not put any thought at all into anything beyond the pending race.

That's not good considering you are very much in contention to win the WDC championship. I'm sure you'll figure it out, and put up the good fight.

I didn't even realise I had a shot at winning until you pointed it out a few races ago .

I will put some more thought into my picks from now on, and probably do worse :nervous:.

Well if I were you I'd burn the weaker picks and set up for a win in Mexico. Or you could just do interchanging picks. Since you basically lucked out do to one Finnish driver being stupid toward another Finnish driver. That and Nico's car going up in crap.

The interchange option would be something like picking Nico and then secondary performs like Perez or Massa. Guys who lately seem to be making up where their team mates aren't. We know Hulk is good and so is Bottas, but they seem to have trouble lately that nets a better showing from their team mates. Then after you've done this you just interchange to your first string guys, Hamilton, Vettel and so on.

Also this is more of advice for everyone, but since Barra was a bit worried :sly::P

I'm very interested in this. I actually never realize it existed here.

Too late girly, boys only!!!

Nah, Justin had set taken over some time ago, and I just took it over this year. You'd like it, since you're into multiple racing series. I'll just put you down for next year 👍

That has pretty much been my approach anyway - alternating the Merc/Ferrari/Williams drivers and then trying to decide which of the RBR/STR/FI drivers are more likely to do well.

Well the way I do it, is the same way as you. And basically if I have the CP to throw at it, I usually just keep selecting Lewis since he's pretty much a guarantee. Then after that I analyze the track they'll be racing at to see if it's more of a full on power, intermediate power circuit or a small circuit. This allows me to figure out who will be the dominate force, since the Renault cars are all very heavy aero driven machines, the Mercedes are less aero (unless your the Manufacture team) and Ferrari are a bit of both like Mercedes AMG just less.

Also I usually just go off of FP2 and then decide, since the ending of that session usually gives some hints to how FP3 is. And if you can figure out FP3 or Quali you have a good shot at the race. The last 2 races have taken it out of us all because of limited running and just strange things in general.

Thats exactly what I do and other than a couple races its worked out pretty well for me.
