Ford actually uses plastic fuel pumps on their diesel engined vehicles in the US, that means trucks like this:

Have all-plastic fuel pumps in them.

Over 100 PSI goes through an all-plastic pump, which would get hot and expands and contracts as it cools down, right next to a hot differential.

Sure, I can understand they want to shed weight, but making it from a lighter material won't make a difference on 5500 lb. truck.

EDIT: Not to sure what this has to do with the new Mustang, but whatever. :P

That's about the only time I can see it having better mileage. Smaller engine in an equally heavy car means its working harder to push that tank.

EDIT:

More and more of these are being spotted on the streets. First GT that I know of been spotted.

I like the diffuser unpainted. There will be people that will paint it black. I like this "stock" look. If there is a lime green option, I may have a rethink.

And another thing, the Falcon XR8 sounded like the Mustang in those videos above. Maybe I'll get a Falcon and a Mustang to enjoy both.

Is this legit, that sounds horrible and when I saw the numbers with out your conversion I knew they were going to be 3-4 times that of the U.S.

This is legit. Straight from the website of one of the larger dealers/importers.

Yeah, I don't think we will see them a lot on the streets here. As I already pretty much expected. Silly double taxes.

Which again leaves me with the question of why Ford even bothered.
Indeed. I thought the whole idea of making it available as a "world car" of sorts was to get around crap like that.

That said, the Netherlands does have particularly harsh taxes. Even more so than the UK. I'd be interested to see whether UK pricing is similar to that of current US muscle imported here (you can get the Camaro, still in LHD) or whether it undercuts it. Or whether it's even more since Ford has had to tool up to build the thing in RHD...

So its a tax that inflates the price? Is it an import tax?

One of the taxes is 21% (btw), that one is fixed. And then there is BPM, that one fluctuates due to price of the car and emissions, iirc.

Are there emission numbers available for it?

Those are not official prices from Ford cause Europe is not getting the V6, the Ecoboost is going to be the base model.

Those are from 3rd party importer....

not from Ford.

Indeed. The V6 will not be an option. But I think the prices will be pretty accurate.

I checked it against the Camaro which we do get through the dealers, and that one starts (with the 6.2) at €107000. That's $145800.

I think Performax used to import and sell converted 2010 SHELBY GT500's for $160k(AUD). It Ford can get pricing for the Mustang , at least $4k-$6K more for each trim level, that would sit well.

GM sold the Pontiac G8 for $29999. The same Commodore SS here was just under $50k. And it was manufactured here!!! What kind of fragerknackle bull is that?

The current model Falcon FG GT-P F sells for $80k. This is the last high power GT(470hp) before the last Falcons are built.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/2014-2016-ford-falcon-xr8-xr6-ecoboost.314239/

The Mustang has to be in the $34k(EcoBoost)- $47k(GT) range.I hope less. My Megane Trophy+ was over $50k. So, I'm not too optimistic.

UK prices are expected to start at £30K ($50K) for the 2.3, so that's expensive compared to the US price. But the Camaro starts at £35K ($58K) so it's cheap in comparison.

That will be £5K more than the Toyota GT86 (BRZ/FRS), the same starting price as the Golf R and £10K cheaper than the base Cayman.

New American muscle cars tend to be cheap in the UK.

Oh, just read the HSV GTS(580hp SC 6.2L) sells for $92999AUD.

So, if the Falcon GT is $77kAUD and Commodore SSV $58kAUD, I'd say we're looking at Mustang in the $39999k-$55999k. The EcoBoost Falcon is $37kAUD.
The G6E(I6Turbo) is $56kAUD. It would be madness if the Mustang GT is over $60k.

So if Google converter is correct A Falcon GT is $71k USD and a G6E is $52k USD. Wow those are a bit more expensive than I thought.
