A new Taurus Mustang already? :indiff: Didn't we just get 2 face lifts?

HUH? The last major refresh was 2010, engine change for both v6 and v8 in 2011 and there was a minor tweek of the body, tailights etc in 2013

The completely new model comes out for the 2015 model year.

I'm pretty sure the 2014 cars have minor bodywork changes (not including the 2013 facelift), unless it's something optional I didn't know about. Also aren't the 2015 cars actually 2014.5, or was that just a rumor?

I'm not aware of any changes to the car for 2014 aside from basic "this was available last year, this is what we have this year" stuff. Colors, rims, whatever.

There is a rumor going around that Ford will do a nod to the 1964 1/2 model for the 50th Anniversary, but it hasn't been confirmed. If so, that would imply that the new model would be ready to go by spring time... And that's pretty impressive.

New Mustang is looking good 👍

It looks good, it has that aggressive look.

But as everyone already said that it looks like a Fusion/Taurus, they gave it a "family face" I don't like that.
The Mustang should have its own look and make it different from other Ford cars.

The similarity is unfortunate, but that's what you get when your bread-and-butter models start looking very nice.

It's not a big problem for other sports coupes (sports cars, pony cars, muscle cars, whatever), but the Mustang "needs" that big grille up front to keep within the Mustang theme.

Which unfortunately, makes it look like a two-door sedan. Which is sort of what it is.

It's quite likely what it'll end up being.

If Lincoln gets their way, there will likely be a premium rear-drive sedan based on the same chassis as the Mustang.

pretty useless trying to cover the Mustang badge on the grille. That's like Mercedes-Benz covering their logo on the SLS AMG's front end during prototype testing. If they ever did do a similar test that involves covering the car in black sheets.

They did! I've seen four SLS being tested at once. They were all fully covered and traveling in a all AMG convoy. And yes, they were easily spotted as the new SLS, though fully covered.

Funny you mentioned it.

I'm hoping to spot the Mustang in the same place, Hwy 1.👍

Maybe it's a new logo?

To be honest, it looks like a New Edge Mustang with the front end flipped upside down. It's not bad and follows body lines from previous generations, 1960s included and it does look good, but it's not what I expected, that is for sure.

Looks to me like a BMW M6, a Ford Taurus, and a Mustang all mated and had this..

I don't want to offend anybody so sorry but I don't really like it.

Thats a pretty old concept from a design house anyways, so don't think the final version will look like it.

Very loosely reminds me of the early 90's Fox bodies.

If you are refering to the one in camo, I said it before, it looks like a New Edge front end flipped upside down and the taillights bought in closer.

I'm sorry, my photo shop skills are terrible but I tried to flip the new edge front end upside down and got this:

Some minor glitches but you get the idea.

Right. So we get the jist that this car looks like a Mustang, not a Taurus, and that the Taurus actually looks like a Mustang as well.

I see a lot of Aston, not too surprisingly, with Mustang. I like it but that the same time I'm a bit unsure.

Here's an up close shot of the front. Doesn't look like a render.

Not bad. Keeps it's traditional style, and gets an update to bring it inline with corporate design.

I agree, it still clearly looks like a Mustang, but at the same time also fits to the current design Ford's using on all cars. I actually like it, a lot.

I like it. The headlights are kind of ugly to me, but the rest of the car looks great. It's definitely a Mustang, and yet it's modern and fresh. I would seriously consider buying one if the chassis is good.
