As long as it doesn't have the Mustang name people will be happy. Seriously, that's how it is. A modern Mustnag wagon will make people have a fit.
.
Not even a wagon but bringing back the hatchback bodystyle would be nice. Foxes are awesome because of the hatch so much utility compered to the SN95 with only a trunk.

I'll definitely be testing one when they launch in the UK. Will almost certainly be too costly for me I expect, just because of the exchange rates.

I don't see them selling many if they're too expensive. At £30k for the V8 they might create a buzz but closer to 40 is slap bang in German coupe territory and to the average prestige coupe buyer it isn't even going to be on their radar. Better to tempt BRZ/86 buyers to spend that bit extra I'd say.

£30k for the V8 sounds slightly ambitious. I can imagine the 2.3L EcoBoost model will tempt BRZ/86 buyers and that has a 100hp advantage, so that likely to cost a premium over the £25k starting price of the Toyota. To be honest, if the 420hp V8 was priced just under £40k, that would look like a great deal next to the £56k M3.

I doubt there are going to be many people who are seriously cross-shopping a v8 Mustang and a M3. Maybe someone will in Europe but here in America those two cars are in completely different worlds for most buyers.

I hated this car in photos, but it looks great in real life. (At least in silver 5.0L guise)

Nah the more the merrier for me. I wish the Cobra and legacy had 6speeds.
Same here. I prefer more gears. My wrx only has 5 gears and it truly needs at least 6. When I am doing about 70 mph (our speed limit) its almost 3,000 rpm. Just ridiculous. Which is why they now put a 6 speed in the new 2015 wrx. In fact, installing the 6 speed transmission into my 69 Camaro back in 2004 was THE best upgrade I ever invested into that car. Especially for gas mileage. Went from averaging about 12-14mpg with the 4 speed manual to over 20mpg with the 6 speed manual. Which is not bad at all for a 60s carbureted car with 4.11 gears. I have saved thousands of dollars in gas after that upgrade.

Amazing seeing more and more cars with 7 and 8 speed transmissions. Especially since some of those are automatic. I see no problem with these modern muscle cars having 7 speed transmissions. I think its wonderful. I would never go back to a 3 or 4 speed manual trans ever again.

The only way I personally would consider a 3 or 4 speed again is if I was building a car strictly for a drag strip or road track. That's the ONLY way I could run a 3 or 4 speed manual again. For cars that can be daily driven or driven on long events, more gears are my preference.

Or you could stick to the slow lane and do 60mph.. It's not forbidden by law.

That's EXACTLY what I do especially to conserve gas. I drive about 60-62mph at around 2,600 rpm and most people fly by me around 75mph. This WRX needs another gear so bad. Glad they finally got smart and put the 6 speed in the 2015 wrx. I am actually thinking about getting an STI so I have the 6th gear.

My car is 65mph in 5th gear at 3k RPM. But it's also a '95, so...
Yup that's revving way too high. I cant stand having my car reving that high on the highway.

In comparison my 69 Camaro at 70-75 mph is around 1,800rpm in 6th gear. That's even with 4.11 gears.

Might be cheaper in the long run to just swap the transmission. Subaru's are like lego, my friend has a '97 Impreza Outback Sport with parts from about 4-5 different Subaru's in it.

I already looked into it when the 5 speed transmission broke last year in my WRX. The 6 speed swap ranges from $3,000-$6,000 for all used parts. Involves new clutch, new front axles, new rear axles, new front spindles, new rear spindles, struts, control arms, new transmission, new transfer case, and way more parts than its worth getting into. I could do it, but its not worth the effort. I am better off just getting another car or just live with the 5 speed and drive about 10mph under the highway speed limit like I have been doing.

I am looking into getting another Subaru for sure. I love this WRX but I have a feeling my next one might be an STI. Or I might even downgrade to another RS. Not sure yet.

There's probably hundreds of new Mustang's driving around Dearborn right now, how did they possibly get that could be the anniversary edition?

No idea. That was the caption on the page I pulled the picture from.

Here's some other news: the convertible is getting a redesigned top, could lower in 7 seconds, an improvement from 15 seconds of the current model.

Also, Ford Racing is developing a supercharger for the GT 5.0 car, that will be optioned for it and the car is expected to pump out as much as 500 horsepower if this option is selected when purchasing the car.
