I want that Saleen, and I've always hated Saleen mustangs.
I absolutely love the tail lights of this new Mustang. They have depth. Features on classic cars always had depth and were three dimensional as opposed to being flat and smooth like we see on so many cars from the 80s, 90s and currently. The trend of dimension is starting to come back in certain places and the new Mustang is an excellent example. It's intricate and interesting. The taillights are almost an exact copy of the ones off 1969 models. Roofline is almost identical as well, all the way down to the ducktail spoiler. Whats odd about that picture is that the pony in the rear has the tri-bar, not seen on ANY other 2015 Mustang.

It's not the brightness, it's the colour. When I see bright red I instinctively thing brake lights, when I see amber I instinctively think indicator. Even sitting behind a car with red LED indicators at a traffic light I have to stop for a second to process that it's an indicator. Honestly, I think red indicators are really stupid, even more so with modern styling where the amber bits can be hidden very easily if you want them to be.The LEDs they have now are plenty noticeable. If you can't see them, you are blind. Some cars look ok with amber outback don't get me wrong, but they just do not work on this car.
Besides there are more Mustangs out there with them than without them.
I agree that they look better, but amber indicators have been proven to be safer. When I see a red light blinking, I think indicator. When I see amber blinking, I think indicator. They both work. Personally I don't think one is really better than the other. Now brightness does play a large factor, but I think red is more subtle and less harsh on the eyes especially at dusk or at night.
Not to mention you already have a dedicated taillight so why not just integrate it into what you already have instead of having to manufacture one more thing.
I think its one of those things were you either like them or you don't. Personally, I hate anything and everything to do with rear amber signals. Some cars ok, but most look like butt.
http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/Pubs/811115.PDFNHTSAThe principal finding of the report is that amber signals show a 5.3% effectiveness in reducing involvement in two-vehicle crashes where a lead vehicle is rear-struck in the act of turning left, turning right, merging into traffic, changing lanes, or entering/leaving a parking space. The advantage of amber rear turn signals is shown to be statistically significant.
There's no losing or winning here. Regardless of if they are safer or not, that doesn't change my opinion that they still look like ass.You lose the argument.
OK, Ellen DeGeneres.![]()
HUH? You should check the late model forums than. The SN95 folks are looking for export taillights that have the amber turn signals and will pay over $600 for them. The New Edge cobras had amber turn signal taillights and that is a popular upgrade.Ew no. Amber signals don't work on Mustangs IMO. The look bad on every iteration Mustang they've ever used them on.
The anti-amber campaign has been strong over the past decade. Keeping stock amber anything is almost guaranteed to be more rare than the alternatives.HUH? You should check the late model forums than. I dot care if they are popular or not, they look like ass.HUH? You should check the late model forums than. I like them. I wouldn't spend the money but they look good. Makes them look more modern IMHO.I dot care if they are popular or not, they look like ass.

But the alternative is having red indicators, which are far less noticeable. I don't know about you but I have to look twice to check if a car with red indicators is braking or actually indicating, even on a mustang with fancy sequential lights, they just don't stand out like amber indicators.
Ahem.Well, the Mustang is the first car to ever go to space.
