2015 Rolex Australian Grand Prix

Technically, his name is Luiz de Oliveira.

His full name is Luiz Felipe de Oliveira Nasr. Under Portuguese naming conventions, "de Oliveira" is his father's surname, and "Nasr" is his mother's maiden name. But for personal reasons, he chooses to be known as Felipe Nasr instead of Luiz de Oliveira. It's a lot like Bruno Senna choosing to be known as Senna instead of Lalli.

Man channel 10s coverage is too cringeworthy.

It's at it's worst when it tries to promote it's c grade TV shows on their Lounge and they draw a driver from a Helmet that they can't pronounce, showing they have Zero idea or interest about the sport.

Im sorry but if you can't read Max Verstappen then you need to go back to school.

So about Bottas not taking part today, there was a class of 2015 photo with all the drivers just now....and he wasn't there....

Dear Channel 10,

Please consider the following model for all of your Formula 1 coverage in future:

"Hi, I'm Matt White, and welcome to Channel 10's coverage of the 2015 Australian Grand Prix. We'll now take you straight to your commentators for the race, Martin Brundle and David Croft. Enjoy the race."

This will improve the quality of your coverage by an estimated one thousand percent.

Sincerely, a long-time viewer of Formula 1.

What's the reason behind him not being there? He won't race today?

He injured the soft tissue in his lower back during the dying minutes of Q3 yesterday. It looks unlikely that he'll race today and there's some debate over whether Williams can/will run their reserve driver in his stead.

According to this tweet, hes not

Not sure if this is the truth.

That might be the first unofficial confirmation that he wont race today.

Sky just confirmed that Bottas will not be taking part. Apparently he didn't pass the extraction test.

If only NBC would do that... Diffey yells and talks non-stop, Hobbs and Matchett sound like teenagers yelling "OOOOHHH" when ever there is an incident.

I hear that Red Bull are claiming that the Renault engine is no more powerful than it was last season but looking at the speed trap data this is simply not the case. Kvyat hit the speed trap at 319.1 km/h yesterday in qualifying, which is faster than anyone managed in 2014. This also may debunk the theory that Kvyat was forced to use a detuned engine, because why would he still be marginally faster than Ricciardo in the speed trap if he was?

I believe changing the air/fuel mixture to a leaner mix could give a higher top speed, and reduce power at lower revs.

I have a feeling that this year's Red Bull is quite a bit more aerodynamically efficient than last year's car, which could easily make up the difference in a speed trap reading.

Redbulls engine needs a Remapping to get the best out of it, I would say watch this space, Ricciardo was only .6 off Massa dispite this so I would expect a big boost once they get the power curve sorted so the throttle can be used in a smooth way, this kind of issue would cost massive time on any slow to medium speed corner requiring any kind of throttle modulation.

Software is allowed to be adjusted during the season so It should be solved by Spain.

Yeah, sorry about that. We created him, and have since moved onto the next level. It would not surprise me in the slightest if Matt White stopped commentating to say "Who cares about Ricciardo? The most important thing here is that he's racing in Australia and I'm the one calling the race for everyone at home."

This also may debunk the theory that Kvyat was forced to use a detuned engine, because why would he still be marginally faster than Ricciardo in the speed trap if he was?
Because engine management is more than about achieving the maximum straight-line speed. Kvyat's problem was that he was getting torque that he didn't want when he was trying to hold the revs steady when he was mid-corner.

And it's not a "theory". It has been confirmed by the team.

The Terminator is there

Magnusson has stopped on his parade lap and is out of the car!!!!!!!

Magnussen's McLaren has blown an engine on the way to the grid! Bahahahaha

Kyvat too oh got 15 car grid

We have Webber part of the team doing pitwalks, but lets cross to Daryl Beattie talking about Master Chief.
