Really enjoying this combo. Once you get a session with grip it's a lot of fun. Closed out the night with a 1:22.806. Good for 54th atm. Feels like I am one of the only Canadians that didn't. Boycott Gt academy. To bad really. We need as many Canadians up on the board as possible. Missing lloydz and crgracer. Turismo Lester has brought back let Canada in. Hope it works.

Track conditions changed from cloudy in my first session to sunny in my second session. Grip level was higher in the second session than in the first after I restarted. Feel like there's still quite a bit of room for improvement on my lap time.

Certainly enjoying this round, feels so good when you're getting it right.:)
Great lap les.
I am liking this combo but I don't have much time to put in.
Got into 1:22.5xx .I can shave atleast 3 tenths but don't know when :P

Its been my experience that, once you have a good base time, if you can't get close to it after about say 15 minutes or so, exit the event and then return to see if the grip levels have changed. You should be able to tell a difference pretty much straight away if things are different or not. As far as my experience with this goes, its random as I haven't seen any set pattern. Its been like a 50/50 chance that you'll have good grip without having to exit then return in my experience so far. My advice would be that if you are not even coming close to your ghost, then just exit and return to see if there is a difference. Like I said, it should be pretty obvious if the grip has changed or not.

I haven't tried this but do you exit the event and go back to the GTA 4 round menu?

Or is it a case of going back to the GT6 main menu itself?

Or, does it change each time that you exit (or are forced to exit-if you hit a cone) from the TT sub menu?

I had a go last night and ended on a 1'23.4 after an hour.

Normally I'm quite good at BH (it's a track I know well and I'm generally competitive there), but I was struggling to keep up with a few people on my friends list I'm typically around the same level as - around 0.8-1s is lot. Tried restarting a few times, but no noticeable change in grip levels, so might just be a bad combo for me!

I'll give it another go over the week.

Any wheel that has (or is set to) both a sequential shift (paddles or unidirectional gearlever) and 900 degree mode will show up as "900 Degree Sequential Gearbox Steering Controller".

Most will be Logitech G25/27 or DFP/DFGT, with the remainder likely to be almost all Fanatec or Thrustmaster wheels.
Many thanks - was horrified to see some prices well in excess of US$500 - I'm in SA and that's a lot of money - will just have to persevere with the standard controller although I struggle to get any decent times :(

Question: what FFB settings are folks on here running? I'm on a DFGT and was just wondering if that can play a factor in laptimes.

I always pull the power wire out so the FFB is disabled, I somehow end up going quicker with a free-moving wheel!

(Although if there are recommendations for FFB settings I'd be more than willing to try them out)

Every controller has it's up and downs but with the DFGT when I was running it in the past I had it on FFB 5 I think. That was before the big overhaul but I imagine it's about the same still? As @MistaVega23 has said disabling FFB can have a positive effect in that your precision on angles increases, the bad thing is you have less feeling so more likely to spin. With this round particularly I'd want some FFB if I were you to at least attempt to catch some of the oversteer :)!

First choice is correct.

In my experience it usually alternates between bad and good grip between event entries. Unless you've entered other non-GTA events in between, then it gets random again.

OK, thanks for the answer 👍

First choice is correct.

Perhaps that's where I went wrong... I just exited and immediately re-entered. I'll have a go going right back tio the home screen and see if this makes any difference 👍

TBH, it's massively frustrating not knowing if you have the optimum 'track set-up'... I don't generally criticise PD, and I'm not 'going for the win', but given the nature of this event they really should have got something like this sorted. Do they actually test any of this stuff properly before putting it out there?

I can only agree with you. I am also in the group of people that don't criticise PD but in this case, I am with you in the complain.

However, in this Round 2 I didn't find the grip change so noticeable, even doubting if it exists in this Round. In the frist round was so noticeable that PD should have known. At first I thought that the car has an extreme chassis deterioration but in the end, as some people stated here, noticed that something went weird with track grip.

Not much more time up for grab now:P Just need to combine all my best sectors, which as we all now is easier said than done

Before I started any laps on this round, I watched your current best lap, 1:21.700 several times. It really allowed me to process the best way to attach this round. After 70km, I ran a pretty solid lap, especially for me, 1:23.891. At the time last night that put me 365th in the world and 25th in the US. The good news is I know I can knock off over .5xx based on some other laps sectors. So thank you @RacingLine!

Glad i can help out:tup: i'm sure @Tidgney will help out much more people with his detailed guides though.

I had been using 3 for Silverstone but I was far more consistent with 5 yesterday. If I can just make the RJN's tail drift instead of the nose understeeering like a donkey, I can knock off another half a second.

I've been in Wales for a few days to see if the rain there is as wet as it is in Manchester? and yep it was pissin it down for 3 days solid haha :P Dropped to login 2 also as an added kick in the ass :D

Cool looking combo... can't wait to try it out after work tonight 👍

1:23.7xx after many frustrating restarts. Top 400 for now! Could probably get a couple of tenth a out of it.
Good luck guys

You really just have to play with it and find something that works for you. I only did this time trial for hour yesterday. Started with the FFB on 6, then moved it up to 7 and I liked the feeling from that. I'm on a DFGT too.

The only general rule I have found with the FFB settings is to turn it up when you want a lot of precision, and turn it down if you expect to do a lot of countersteering. But yeah everybody likes something different so just figure out what works best for you.

I don't know what is the matter here with me... i don't like this track and that's why i 'm not good at it, or just i 'm not good at this track and that's why i don't like it... (i guess it's the second though... because i admit it's a nice, very technical circuit...)
Anyway... had my first (and last) session today, managed a 1:23.286, happy with that, job done!
Good luck to all!! 👍

Ran a new personal best last night
1:22.282 still tones of time left if I link my personal best sector times should be able to run 1:21.8xx

The tail-happy GT3 RJN has returned? It's time to play:

NO ****!!!! LOL

It's just wishful thinking but... maybe we could get the LMP2 for round 3 and then an update for the last round that we'll drive the LMP1 GT-R in. The track will be made in COURSE MAKER, which is included in the update. If only .
I wouldn't be surprised if we get to tackle suzuka in the GT-R GT500 2015 for round 4! Japan is in this year and it really would be something fresh and unique if they added that car and circuit.

I was experimenting with these settings last night and set my best time with TC 2 and ABS 10. Too early to tell imo however if it was just a fluke or if those settings actually helped. More experimentation/testing is needed to come to any good conclusion. With the wonky physics in these events, I make sure to leave no stone unturned.
^^Sorry guys, need to check my editing^^:dunce:

Yes, you may very well be right about this. I have a hunch that TC on at least 1 in this round will make anybody faster. Will experiment with this too.
I absolutely hate the way this car drives!! Just totally unrealistic and not fun at all and makes me feel like I'm playing ridge racer at times.... although I believe I can do better in this round then last if I can get over the ridge racer physics:boggled:........... Does anybody else remember the physics being this wonky at Spa???

Oddly enough now, I have now set my fastest time with ABS @ 1 and TC @ 0. I really don't think ABS really makes a difference between 1-10. TC however is a different story imo. If you aren't good at managing the throttle, I think a setting of 1 could be beneficial to those people. I've had mine as far up as 3 before it started killing my lap times. Like I said, my current best time was set with it at 0, but I think I could best my time with it at 1. I recently had two strokes so my coordination, reflexes, and general muscle motor skills aren't what they used to be so any extra help I can get as far as throttle modulation goes helps.
