Birmingham have 'parted' ways with Gary Rowett.

Quite a bizarre move as they are only 3 points off 3rd and are in touching distance off the play-off zone.

Cheap squad.
Good football.
Complete turnaround from the bottom of the table.
3 points of the automatics.
Highly rated young manager.

Nope. New boardroom get rid of him. Ridiculous, sheer ridiculousness. But what else do you expect?

I hope he won't be out of work for long.

14th December - Gary Rowett (Birmingham City, sacked) Championship

Sackings: 14
Resignations: 5

Total: 19

3 points of the automatics
Nine - Reading are in 3rd with 37, but Brighton hold the last automatic spot with 43 and one of only three double figure positive goal differences!

Fair point.

With Gary Rowett's chair still warm from his arse sitting in it this very morning, Birmingham have unsuspiciously appointed Gianfranco Zola as their new manager.

So tonight then, United had a scrappy win away to Palace where we didn't play well and the refereeing were terrible, but its a win, a big three points, and keeps us within touching distance i think.

Also my other team Swansea lost 3-1 to WBA and are now three points adrift in the relegation zone. GAH!

This weekend's fixtures.

Saturday
Crystal Palace v Chelsea (12.30 Sky)
Middlesbrough v Swansea
Stoke v Leicester
Sunderland v Watford
West Brom v Man United (5.30 BT)
West Ham v Hull

Sunday
Bournemouth v Southampton (1.30 Sky)
Man City v Arsenal (4pm Sky)
Tottenham v Burnley

Bazoer of Ajax to Wolfsburg is completed. £12mill on a 4 year contract.

Interestingly, they had rejected a £25mill offer from Napoli last season.

Being a Swansea fan is getting depressing now, lost 3-0 away to Middlesbrough, Jesus wept....

West Ham fans name the post as the man of the match.

Incidentally, the Championship is looking frightening (as usual). Newcastle and Brighton are slightly running away with it, with an 8pt gap to 3rd and twice the goal difference of anyone else, but on Saturday almost every team in the top 10 was in the playoffs at some point (exception being Birmingham, who peaked at 7th). Rotherham are a little sunk, but even so only lost due to a 95th minute penalty against a team in the playoffs - one of three matches decided by 89th minute or later goals. The Closeness Coefficient is 1.45, which is the highest it's been in a while (since Leicester won it), but even so the gap between top and top of the relegation zone is 29pt - exactly the same as the Premier League, but after 22 games instead of just 17.

If I was a supporter of a Premier League team that's looking to get relegated to the Championship, I'd be bricking it.

Real ended up winning 4-2 with a hattrick from Ronaldo, what a week its been for him and what a year its been for Zidane.

Messi and Iniesta there. Incredible.

GOAT got his goal. Well deserved. Such a privilege to watch this man play.

Congratulations to Leicester City on winning team of the year at Sports Personality of The Year awards tonight and to Claudio Ranieri for winning coach of the year, well deserved 👍

Merseyside Derby tonight between Everton and Liverpool and then there is no league football on until Boxing day, there are a couple of FA Cup replays and Scottish Football who have SPL games on Christmas eve.

Crystal Palace have sacked Pardew!

PSG are close to agreeing a £30mill deal for Draxler. With Jese leaving on loan to Las Palmas.

As Oscar and Tevez have been heavily linked to a move to China. Reports also suggests that Mandzukic will head over to China as well for around £35mill.

Merry Christmas, Alan!

They have been absolutely the worst professional team in England throughout 2016 so he can't be that shocked...

I know alot of people don't want the chinese clubs to take good talent but I really want this to go ahead, Asia needs big clubs and this will trickle down to the Asian champions league which Australia plays in, our league is incredibly competitive in this league and it will help grow the ACL massively.

We also got a improved TV deal so money is starting to come this way.

Shanghai sign Oscar from Chelsea for £60 million!

West Brom reportedly make £13 million bid for Man United's Morgan Schneiderlin.

Joey Barton has been found guilty of misconduct after betting on over a 1,000 games in the last 10 years!

Never mind that, have you seen Tevez's reported salary? £615,000 a week!

Also Allardyce is reportedly on his way to Palace now

I know that Tevez's wages are ridiculous but £60 million for a Chelsea squad player is insane!

Yeah, but if you're in the Chelsea boardroom and a Chinese team offers you £60million for one of your players, you're going to take it aren't you.

He's a Chelsea squad player this season. He's also a 25-year old Brazilian international midfielder who's won the Premier League, the Europa League, the Confederations Cup and the U20 World Cup all in the last 5 years, and made the FIFA all-star team for the World Cup in 2014.

I don't think that there is a single player out there who will say no to that kind of offer. 1 contract and you're set for life.

China is the new desert.

Arsenal and Spurs are to battle out for the signing of Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie.

Leicester City are interested in Genk's Leon Bailey who has a £20mill price tag.

Draxler to PSG is now official.

But his past performances regarding the last two seasons doesn't justify his £60mill price tag but it's China they are willing to pay anything for a big name player.

......I had realised Spurs paid £30mill for Sissoko.

The Chinese league will surely suck with these foreign fat cats? Firstly, there's no way these clubs are that rich without some kind of 'assistence' and secondly, with 30-50 known, name players doing the work, they're going to make any Chinese lad fortunate enough to get a game look like he has rickets.

This is like getting Schumacher and Prost to drop down to Formula Audi.
