Now I'm not a race driver (I've always wanted to be, but I just like cake to much), the only racing I've done is go karts, which usually end up in me finishing in the middle of the pack (the cake weight issue). So I may not know as much about it as some of the other guys on here (mr. $1.2 trophy room guy for example)

However, to say that Porsche didn't deserve this win, in my opinion, is just plain stupid.
We are talking about a race that lasts 24 hours, and for most of these 24 hours the Toyota and the Porsche have been within 1 minute of each other. Suggesting that the cars were pretty evenly matched. Meaning it really came down to pit strategy and driver capabilities. So of course Porsche deserved to win just as much as Toyota. Porsche did just as good a job preparing/racing as Toyota did.

You can of course argue if it's "fair", that Toyota once again stumbles inches from the finish line, but only if it's fair in an emotionel way. Not if it's fair within the rules of racing, those rules are pretty clear.

Or course Porsche deserved this win, they did a hell of a job. So did Toyota, no more, no less.

Resorting to name calling and ridiculing each other because of this seems beneath this forum.

Oh and for the love of God, what does VAG stand for?
That's ALL I'm trying to say.

EDIT: And the whining against Ford is getting on my nerves. Ferrari could keep up the pace, Ford just built the better, faster car.

They've always been a disgrace to all kinds of motorsports when you think about it.
Oh tell me about it. They even seemed to stop giving a damn about NASCAR lately (barring Jeff Gordon), and that's about the only form of motorsport that then even make an effort to try to properly cover.

The BoP is quite self explainatory. It's the ACO's fault rather than Ford but Ford willingly played against the spirit of the rules. Is it illegal? Nope. Is it lame? Yes. And it's no secret to anyone that the ACO, like any :censored:ing french organization, plays favourites all the time.

And the thing on the lights is the same story. The call from the race director and was absurd, it was sticking to the rule way beyond reason. There was just no sense in penalizing the Ferrari for that, it would've been following the rule for the rule's sake instead of for the sake of what the rule is supposed to give sense to. If you're gonna go all neo-Kant on me, then I won't waste my time with further replies.
I didnt quote you so...

My apologize, do I disturb the peace in your conspiracy party against Ford?
You mean Risi. Ford and Ferrari both gamed the system with the blessing of the ACO to promote the "Battle part 2". It would have been a fraud if they were assessed a penalty for that light. Thankfully the only thing that was a fraud was the BOP for both brands. Regardless the pictures have been taken and the trophies are in their hands so it's all good now.

Not to mention the Sprint Unlimited in Febuary where they went to ads with 10 to go and moved Supercross because of a dog show.

This'll probably get lost in the waves of banter, but here are my thoughts:

  • Even though I was pulling for Toyota, congratulations to Porsche. Toyota had the best chnce possible for them, and it just didn't work out. Hopefully next year.
  • Still not happen with with GTE-Pro. We can only hope the ACO works on it more for next year. Still dislike Ford.
  • Whoever had the leader light penlty and didn't serve it, you are my freaking hero! Giving the finger to the horrible officiating of the ACO this weekend! Two thumbs up from me.
All in all, I didn't like the outcomes, but it's still Le Mns, one of the greatest spectacles in racing. Still fun to watch it all unfold. Alredy waiting for the 2017 Rolex 24!

You misunderstand. I was backing your "Shut up" sentiment, not trying to argue with you .

This is still the best thing about this year's race. As a handicapped guy myself, this made me happy.

This. Finally the Garage 56 thingymabob has a happy ending and does something relevant for actual people outside motorsport geeks!

Apparently Fox Sports thinks it's a better idea to show Argentinian motocross instead of Le Mans.

What happened at the end?
