Caught a replay of the Moto3 race a couple of nights back and wow, Danny Kent, 30th to 4th? Unbelievable.

I was a little disappointed that Kent didn't have a proper go for the podium in the last lap but thinking of the championship is ok with me as a Brit; although with 3 Italians in front of him it wouldn't surprise me if he won by default :)
Anyway, who is everyone tipping for the gp title this year? I've just put a few quid on Lorenzo and got some value out of it by making it a double with Rea for Wsbk.

I wouldn't bet on Lorenzo even with his current form, if he doesn't have full confidence in the bike he's nowhere.

You can tell when Lorenzo is riding well because he slams the bike over on its side when he goes into the corners, I'd have to say Rossi for now because he's been so consistently quick in the races and he rarely chucks away points. The Honda doesn't look quick enough at the moment and Marquez keeps making little mistakes which are costing him.

MotoGP kicking around the idea of a race in Indonesia from 2017:

http://m.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/119103/motogp-eyeing-indonesian-round-in-2017

But I don't know where; I have used up my thirty Autosport views for the month. I assume it's Sentul - I don't think Indonesia has any other circuit that could host it.

The article :

MotoGP intends to add an Indonesian round to its calendar from the 2017 season.

Dorna chief Carmelo Ezpeleta and the series' events manager Javier Alonso visited the country this week to discuss plans for a race, which could take place at a revamped Sentul circuit.

"Indonesia has been included in our plans for a long time," said Ezpeleta.

"This is a great country with high growth in the motorcycle sales sector. It's an important country for us.

"The reason why we are here is because the Indonesian government were interested to host a MotoGP race.

"We then explained the necessary infrastructure requirements that must be met, including a homologated circuit."

Sentul hosted the world championship in 1996 and '97, when Mick Doohan and Tadayuki Okada won the 500cc races.

Ezpeleta said the track would need upgrading in order to rejoin the schedule, and was open-minded as to whether a new venue should be built instead.

A 2017-21 calendar slot is on the table for Indonesia if a deal can be completed.

"The goal is achievable for the country to host MotoGP," said Ezpeleta.

"Indonesia will have the race if they fulfil all the requirements.

"The Sentul circuit needs much improvement. We have seen many circuits that do a lot of changes.

"Is it possible for Indonesia to improve [Sentul] or build a new circuit? We hope the government could follow up on this immediately.

"The sure thing is we will provide the necessary support to make the event a success."

Indonesia's tourism minister Arief Yahya said talks were not yet at a contract stage but the desire to get MotoGP to the country was strong.

"There is no contract signing today. But the sure thing is both parties are interested in holding MotoGP in Indonesia," he said.

With the straight line speed of the Ducatis' and their race pace lately Lorenzo will surely need to pass them and build an early lead before Rossi gets involved.

Lets see how MM rides around on an inferior bike (as it seems the honda is now) as VR and JL had to do all of last season!

Thanks. I really wish autosport went with the "ads for free users, ad free for premium" model that just about every other website uses. I suppose Adblock is to blame, but there are enough numpties like me that don't use Adblock to make things profitable.

Anyone else watching the race right now?
What a first lap by Marquez.

edit:
That save by Rossi.

It would have been better if the commentators had talked about something other than Iannone's start ...

MM bins it. Again. He just doesn't know when to bank points.
He couldn't do what Rossi did. Save the bike.

Rossi from 11th to 3rd.
His fighting spirit brings a tear to my eye.

Honestly, I don't think Marquez could have saved it - he put too much weight forward and held it too long as he was getting back on the throttle. By the time it was obvious that he'd over-cooked it, he'd passed the point of no return.

Especially since Honda have trouble with the front for some reason since Le Mans. Look at all the front fall they had. I think luck is catching back to Marquez a bit. He used quite a lot last year too when he went out at 300km/h without anything really bad happening to him.

Another great race from Rossi, but he need to step up if he want to beat Lorenzo, especially in qualifying. Because atm Lorenzo is the boss again. Good race from Pedrosa and Iannone as well considering what happen during this season for both of them.

I kept replaying the start at 10 percent speed, iannone was moving before the lights went out but wasn't out of his starting box before they went out.

Good to see him getting on the podium.

From what is saw he didn't have enough weight on the front. As he opened up the gas it took some load off the front and just underloaded it.

Great result for Ian Hutchinson to win the Supersport TT at the Isle yesterday. For anyone who watched "Closer to the Edge" and his dreadful accident and injuries back then, it's remarkable to see him back on the top step again 👍

Things to do after you've dislocated your ankle:

Crutchlow
“I had some treatment in Italy after the race with Christian, who used to be my therapist here, and he worked well with the laser to reduce the swelling on my ankle. But typical me, I didn't stop and I went straight out cycling and I've done 900km since the last race!” Crutchlow revealed.

These guys are made of iron.

MM bins it again. I lol'd. And then he doesn't even try and rejoin the race! his bike wasnt damaged but his ego is.

Lorenzo's found his mojo again. Four in a row?

Rossi keeps racking up the podiums.👍

Pedrosa's back where he belongs after a hard road. 👍

Marquez needs to get a grip. It's in his head now, more than ever. :boggled:

I don't think Marquez is happy unless he's winning, regardless of the bike he has underneath him he thinks he can win every race when he should just accept that 2nd or 3rd is still a good result given the current race pace of the Yamahas.

Some reports that the Brno round may be cancelled this year due to insufficient funding :(

Assen should be awesome this weekend - can JL really push after his crash last year at the same place? Maybe a return for Rossi to the top step if he can qualify better...

I think MMs troubles relate to his riding style, without a well balanced bike his riding style is basically impossible as his weight transfer would be beyond the bikes capability. All the other top guys have similar styles that don't require the entire body to hang off the bike.

He has been riding like this since Moto 3 from memory so whilst he may look like he has lost the plot I don't think he is riding any different then the last 2 years.

Difference being his confidence has likely taken a huge hit though.
