Great job by Truex today. Maybe all his bad luck is finally behind him. Actually, I predict he'll be on pace to win the championship at Homestead and something will happen.

Also, when was the last time only 6 cars finished on the lead lap? This is Dover though. Looking back through past Dover races, it seemed to happen a bunch even in the late 90's, when the Cup Series was starting to become much more competitive. The most recent times 6 cars finished on the lead lap were 2012, 2008 and 2007. I also remember the June 2004 race quite well. A big wreck took out a bunch of good cars, leaving only 5 cars running the full distance.

To be honest, I'd like to see him run the 2017 Daytona 500 if he was willing.

His whole thing has been "I'll race what I want when I want". Don't expect too much publicity from his end on what dirt/local races he'll be doing.

The only things he has ruled out is IndyCar and running more than a Gordon level of races as a substitute SHR driver. He also isn't going to run the Eldora truck race because of NASCAR's rule not allowing track owners to compete at their own tracks. Otherwise anything is on the table; I know there was talk of him maybe doing some races in the SHR XFINITY car if Gene decided Custer wasn't ready yet for full time XFINITY racing. That's not happening but who knows as far as a second car in that series is concerned; I know Harvick is going to be doing more XFINITY racing next season.

How many races is he doing next year? 20? He needs to get out of that series and focus on Cup IMO. Especially with what he pulled in 2006, costing Brandon Miller his career.

1. I'm still holding out hope SHR can snap up Bubba Wallace from RFR and bring him on as a second driver. Maybe someday, like Larson going to Hendrick.
2. Harvick, like Kyle Busch, really needs to move on from Xfinity racing
