I meant once the playoffs have started proper. Obviously, you can have eliminated teams affect those still in contention near the regular season's end.

Uh, oh. Officials all over Sadler's car.
Right, and that's the main reason so many people jumped to, myself included, when they announced the chase. All the sports with playoffs are 1v1. I don't see the NFL deciding that all 32 teams need to play on the same field at the same time. Why does NASCAR think this is a good idea? Desperation I guess.

I saw two lugnuts loose, both on the left rear.

To my recollection, it was because how Matt Kenseth won his championship with just one race win.

At least he won one. I'd have died laughing had Ryan Newman finished 2nd in 2014 at homestead but won the title without a win. I was hoping for it so hard.

I wonder if because of Byron getting screwed last night, there'll be a change next season so the driver with the most wins goes straight to homestead.

Sadler, Allgaier, Suarez, and Jones.

Why? Seems like a colossal waste of money to me, especially when the current layout made it somewhat different than every other track.
Because different is EVAL! GURAHGH! [/a-hole]

It is unimaginative, and pretty much puts it in line with all the other D-ovals, but first thoughts are to get rid of all the space inside the dog-leg, then doing what Darlington did so long ago so they have more room to build. Optimistic, I know.

I can understand it, for one Darrell Wallace won't get spun on the front straight again because the spotters will be able to look side on instead of head on. Second, although I'm not certain about this one, more passes probably get made out of turn 2 than anywhere on the track, and a lot have happened in the new dogleg. I think they're hoping for more photo finishes is basically what it is.

OK. The invocation was one of the better ones I've heard, but I'm about to get heat for this one, I've not heard an act sing the national anthem this season that was at all inspiring or even interesting.
Though I may not find them all good I do find the idea inspiring and always get up and take off my hat when at the track or get off the couch at home. It's great to see the colors presented, the fly-over and all the pre-race ceremonies. This country needs to show more respect towards our past heritage and our armed forces that protect our freedoms. Not to mention what Friday was.
:)

No points penalty, but Sadler will lose his crew chief for Homstead, as well as a fine for the regular crew cheif.
NASCAR being consistent. 👍

As for other thread stuff.
Tell Jeff Burton he deserved to win the championship in 1999 when he had 6 Cup wins and I bet he will tell you a different (more experienced) story. 6 wins, 0 wins (Kenseth) does not guarantee/deny you a championship or not. Yeah, 0 wins to Kenseth and his Championship is what started to the whole chase format to begin with. Unfortunate for some fans NASCAR listening to the moaning fans and here you go, you get the chase format. Fans still moaned when their driver didn't get in so NASCAR again listened and added more drivers. And so on. I think NASCAR should do what they think and stop listening to the moaners.

As said before, damned if you do, damned if you don't. With the current format winning is everything, you have to step up now or your done. Points racing this is not. At least we still have "have at it boys". ;) I think Dillon will be cool today.

What's even better is that the Championship is to be decided on a track that teams have not raced on at all this year, tested yes. That leaves a lot of uncertainty as to who will win.
And I think the Champ will have to win the race.

How the hell does Alex Bowman NOT have a seat anywhere next season? If he was just a 'meh' driver he'd already be out of the top 10. He's leading, and making his way through traffic without much issue.
