Surprised no ones having a fit.
Well I haven't seen the specs so far but if it is the V8 I don't expect much of an economical figure for this.

I do think it will be a totally redesigned truck. The current Titan has been the same for a long while.

I'm not so sure January is "soon" but ok. :P
They could be showing something at the LA auto show next month.

It said more than 300HP and more then 500s lb-ft torque.

It will be dumb if they don't, they are losing large percentage of sales cause of the old truck design.
I just wish that the new Titan will have that tough truck look.

You're the only one I see making a big deal out of this, I suppose Dodge truck and Cummins fans are just more mature than Ford fans, eh? ;)

Honestly though, most Cummins fans don't want a V8 diesel. Cummins is known for their badass inline 6 engines in both the Dodge trucks as well as various semi trucks so most Cummins fans prefer that layout because of the low RPM torque and less moving parts, plus an inline 6 is easier to work on as well because they generally fit into the engine bay better making it easier to reach parts.

That being said, I am definitely keeping my eye on this truck. I test drove all 3 of the big 3's '14 1/2 ton trucks and the Dodge was by far and away my favorite. part of that was because of the V6 diesel. If Nissan can make a truck that competes with the Ram I'll be very interested in their truck too.

From what I know I have to agree with this.

welll.......... the oil filter on the 5.9 1999 isn't so fun to get. You need a four foot arm to reach it and 5 joints to not burn yourself.

But yea, crazy low torque. 2,000 rpm is 75 mph in mine and by far this model engine is the best sounding one even stock.

There is more engine noise than there is exhaust and the turbo is absolutely fantastic to hear spool up and down.

You have no idea.... I have a 2500 with the I-6 24-valve... Although it's a '99, it'll pull anything I need up to 12 tons..

Ford doesn't (in my opinion) make good diesels at all... They are sorta like Toyota. Not good at all on start-ups, especially in the cold and many of the f-250 owners I know have their engines overheat..

I wish Audi would make a diesel truck...
Do you get the VW Amarok in the US?

uses VAG powered Diesels.

I'm not sure if that is in production yet, but I did read about it and liked it. Last I knew we were supposed to get it.
Been around for a while in pretty much everywhere except the US. It comes with a 2.0L petrol or a few versions of a 2.0L diesel.

Hm.... well I don't know of any close by VW dealerships other than Jim Ellis, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does not sell them.

Could be, full truck reveal is supposed to be at Detroit. In any case, I know what the engine looks like anyway. ;)

They should do something to get people excited about the new Titan. The current Titan is the oldest truck on the US market almost all other trucks went thought 2 gen. in the time the Titan has been for sale, it could have been replaced about an year or two ago.

I think Nissan has proven they don't rush things, as evidence by the multitude of other models they have that are overdue for a refresh. :P

How many NIS CUM vanity plates are we gonna see for this thing?

Saw the new trucks today. They take lots of cue's from other trucks, but are still quite unique. Both we received had the Cummins in them.

A new HD Titan to be exact. But the exhaust doesn't appear to be that of a diesel.

Fair enough... I thought someone was going to refer it to the way Ford and Chevrolet are currently making there H/SD's, with the large split tips..

But I did know it was somewhat of a standard for diesels to have larger diameter tips, as my '99 2500 Ram has quite the sizable tip...

It's a completely camo'd truck so it could still be diesel. I think it's a bit interesting as to how they arch it with the wheel well...

@Swagger897 , see, I was wrong. It is a diesel and it does have the fresh air vent that is a signature of diesel exhausts pipes. That's how you can tell but Nissan's isn't as visible as GM or Ford. Actually, I don't know where Dodge's is either.
