Oreca is the best looking of the 3 new DPi thusfar imo. Hopefully, the Caddy bodywork is an improvement for the Dallara. Still looking forward to seeing the 'Murican/Canadian DPi

That Lexus may very well be a GT4 car. The spoiler is different from the SP8 RC F that raced/races at the Nurburgring and it's odd that it would be over here testing at Sebring.

Pretty sure "Champion" is the word he was looking for, correct?

No, not even close. I was asking about the "being rewarded" bit.

Modern day GT racing in Pro/Am classes has traditionally been a customer driven sport. The only people being rewarded are the team at Scuderia Corsa, as Nielsen has chosen to continue to do business with them after their success. In contrast to TRG-AMR last year, who were not rewarded by Nielsen when she chose to go to another team, despite coming very close to the championship.

Good point. I was just glad Nielsen will be coming back with Scuderia Corsa though to be honest.

Hooray for a arbitrary system that basically throws your years of experience out the window for kindergarden colors.

Rant aside, pretty cool combination.

Yeah the system could definitely use improvement. But yeah the lineup is awesome, wish them luck next year. :D

Sounds like the Penske rumor mill train is moving at full speed because they'll supposedly return to prototype racing by fielding an IMSA team at the end of the 2017 season with a DPi. At least that's what the rumor says. The main rumor is saying that an Oreca with a Honda engine will be the frontrunner for his program.

I found this on the interwebs, and laughed a lot, so I think I'll share it with you guys. I just hope the Caddy won't look anything like this.

Disclaimer: This is not real, it is just a really, really bad photoshop.

So what's the big deal with the IMSA silhouette picture - new manufacturer or a new class of racing? What gives?

I'm going to guess it's the Mercedes GT3 as it hasn't been officially confirmed yet. Either that or it's a teaser for the DPi's which are expected to be revealed by GM and Mazda at the LA auto show later this month.

Gotcha. I'm just curious if it's "real" news or just the announcement of makes/models in a series we're already aware of. I'll be surprised if it's something genuinely exciting.
