No Gulf sponsorship. Hmmm.... #Ford ?

Maybe next year, though I doubt it.

That Aston livery is good, but it would be even better if they went with the old DBR-9 mettalic green:

I hope the other car has Red accents, the GTE cars are starting to look like the old GT1 cars so why not go back to the old livery?

To be honest, GTE (and GT3) is basically GT1. The fender flares, the rising costs, etc. They are more or less GT1.

Because sponsors.

GT1 could do sub 3:50's at LM. GTE are 5-8 seconds slower. They could be faster, but they're nowhere near GT1 at LM. Cornering speeds are probably there though. Tire tech is a lot better.

GTE has come from doing 4min-4:05 laps in last few years, pace would be there.

I can't see GTE being allowed to go much quicker if nothing else then on mixed class safety grounds as they already get tangled up with the LMP2's in some corners and there needs to be room for the LMP3's if that class becomes a proper part of the show. BoP already acts as a cost deterrent as pumping hundreds of millions into your car is unlikely to gain anything after the first race.

Of course both are real. A click on Twitter would have confirmed that. I think Porsche will be left waiting for a photo of Toyota Gazoo Racing's new V6 and ERS though.

TLDR

- A lot of happy people in Banbury and Gaydon.
- Ford penalised for bringing a prototype to a GT fight.

Until we seen them all on track, we can't really judge.

Only 1 hour for the Bahrain race and several races only having 4.5 hours, that's pathetic. This network gets worse and worse each year.

Shouldn't be a surprise really.
