Ben Keating is iron man apparently. The Rolex 24 is definitely a top tier event, and its great to see the entries so abundant. It's a symbol of the strength of North American sports car racing, and specifically GT racing.
1 in 5 chance of getting a new Rolex, why not. Lets hope we dont see a mesage on T&S saying "incident between cars 8 & 33 under investigation.Ben Keating is iron man apparently. Brilliant, I was hoping someone would do that, thanks!! To me, it looks greatQuick photoshop job with the green accents changed to match. Much better. Stupid color rules..
Class color has already been eliminated for Prototype.I have a feeling the class color rules will be either changed or nixed in 2018 when we only have DPi, GTLM and GTD. Or at least 3 different colors maybe. It'd be fine if it was just the number plate like the WEC or Blancpan.
Is it a Realtime thing, or a Honda thing?Class color has already been eliminated for Prototype.
I dislike the use of orange on the nose of the Shank cars. That's a Realtime thing.
Wait since when? The DPi's have to run red numberplates, mirrors and wing end plates don't they?Class color has already been eliminated for Prototype.

Real Time has come a long way. Its crazy to think I was watching them with (post Nissan) Acura's in TC in the PWC.Realtime.
PD and co. have been using that dayglo orange and white since the beginning of time. Only time they haven't had it featured on their cars since ~1995 is when he had the Nissan deal in Speed TC.
Fair enough, but I've seen lots of Honda's, outside of Realtime, that have dayglow red accents....the Gathers Drider Civic is one of the older that I can think of.Realtime.

As of this year.Wait since when? The DPi's have to run red numberplates, mirrors and wing end plates don't they?

Dayglow red is Realtimes thing in the USA. Citing cars that one would not know about outside of Gran Turismo doesn't help your case, lol.Fair enough, but I've seen lots of Honda's, outside of Realtime, that have dayglow red accents....the Gathers Drider Civic is one of the older that I can think of.
Just numberplates.Wait since when? The DPi's have to run red numberplates, mirrors and wing end plates don't they?
Leader lights too must be red in P.Just numberplates.
Forgot about those.Leader lights too must be red in P.
Unlikely unless one class goes away.Well crap that's new. Maybe we can have that for the other classes next year.
Well we're losing PC next year so...sweet.Unlikely unless one class goes away.
PC keeps their green endplates, but wouldnt yellow be a better color for that class?
A Dayglow red and white car was a sure fire way to know it was a Realtime Honda....when they didn't run Honda, they didn't run Dayglow red, as you pointed out.As of this year.
I've been following Realtime since the Integra days, it's super awesome to see a good friend driving for them now.

An Acura with dayglo red/orange with white was a surefire way to know it was a Realtime car.
Same, and the NSX's.I've been following Realtime since the Integra days
Which is exactly why the P class doesn't need the colored bits anymore.Well we're losing PC next year so...sweet.
What was the first year Realtime ran that NSX with that paint scheme? That was their first car in those colours, correct?Same, and the NSX's.
Ah, the good old days of PWC.

And if you know off the top, what year did Spice compete in IMSA with that #49 Acura prototype (had an NSX motor in it)?
...and Comptech and Realtime worked very closely in those early years.
Those of us that grew up on Realtime dominating PWC for years, that grew up with that color scheme, find it nice that they decided to bring some of that history to their new cars. I don't really see what the problem is.Yet we're to belive that dayglow red on white, or just dayglow red accents, are a Realtime original colour scheme (despite examples of non-Realtime Hondas using dayglow red accents).
I love those cars too. I was a kid, but I remeber watching them on Speed. The issue started I guess because @FireEmblem62 said he didn't like the red accents on the Shank livery, as those colours "belong to Realtime" (paraphrased). I replied with, "the red accents aren't just a Realtime thing, they're a Honda thing" - implying that it was more than good for Shank to use the theme on their cars. Those of us that grew up on Realtime dominating PWC for years, that grew up with that color scheme, find it nice that they decided to bring some of that history to their new cars. As if Shank had any say it that, get real. HPD is paying the bills and you can be sure they are in charge of the livery.Dayglo red and white is a Realtime ACURA thing.
It's not a Honda thing, it's a RTR Acura thing.
The people I know in the RTR programme are also not too pleased with Shank using "their" colors in their scheme as well.
