There's a late apex turn in in that corner and Ricky dive bombed but apparently... no penalty! Amazing! American organization protecting the American driver!!! SICK!

And Ricky "Jason Plato" Taylor gets away with cheating his way to the lead. WTF?

But you guys totally had no problem with the same thing happening with Ford and Ferrari In GTLM, or with AXR pulling some of the most dirty tactics on a restart knowing the 10 was faster then them.

Ricky Taylor had an opening, and he went for it. Alb tried to close the gap, and it was just too late to protect the inside. A late, reactive block. There wouldn't have been contact if the #5 just gave a bit more room instead of driving into his door.

Karma is a bitch, ain't it, AXR? Brake checking the #10 on the restart wasn't worth it in the end, I see..

I didn't, and wasn't it Ford vs Vette?

It's a racing incident, no conspiracy, no tube frame dinosaur to attack, just racing, Ricky saw an opportunity with the clock ticking down, Felipe left it open, closed down, it was too late, that was that.
Where have you been the past 24 hours with this awesome banter? Should've seen the stuff last night.

So, you agree that that Taylor saw a tiny space where he would barely fit, he forced it, he hit straight Filipe's quarter back as we call DIVE BOMB, but apparently that's all good.
OK, it's your opinion, I'll respect it.

Call it karma for the #5 and all the crap they've pulled over the years. If the Ford got away with it, Corvette got away with it on a Porsche last year, so why would it be different now?

Could care less about Jeff Gordon. I'm just happy for Jordan, Ricky and Max. They've finished 2nd so many times, you'dbe an idiot to think they weren't gling to be aggressive.

Ford will be (hopefully) BoP'd into an oblivion as always throughout the season. Honestly they felt pretty balanced in the corners; they just had a slight top end advantage.

At the end of the day, it is what it is. Nobody can change it. On to Sebring!

Taylor was in there, he had a fender on him.

Because it's a curved braking zone, it's tricky to say what is "moving in the braking zone," but it definitely looked like the #5 squeezed the #10. I think the #10 saw an opening, put the nose in, saw that the door was closing, but had no where to go. Car on the right, wall on the left, on the braking limit.

You see stuff like this in V8SC a lot, and the lead car usually never turns in like that, even with minimal overlap.

Racing incident in my opinion, no penalty required. I do like what Albequerque said though. He didn't seem all that mad about the spin, but said Ricky could have held up a touch so they could resume a fair scrap to the line.

No he was not... But ok. People always have they're believes and opinions and I have mine and it's all cool but I bet any money that if it would happen to any of you in any sim racing, all of you would file an incident report or just rage quit the race.

From my perspective, it looked like the Ford was not the fastest top end (at least it seemed that way in last couple of hours of the race) compared to the Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche. Porsche was a rocket in a straight line.

Overall I thought the race was pretty even and close in GTLM.

And somehow we make this about racing sims and us being rage quitting kids  Never change motorsport section, no wonder why I never venture here anymore

Didn't see that one buddy...

With about a hour and 30 minutes to go, the Ford made a dive into turn 1 after the Ferrari went wide and then attempted to turn back but the hit and the Ford was away.

Then on the 2nd to last restart, the 31 blocked the 10 and the 5 got a huge run to green.

I'd say he was clearly there.

That's because most of us aren't pro racers. A good pro knows the risk of turning in like that, and putting it in the official's hands. Like I mentioned before, watch some Aussie V8SC. Because of the massive braking distances, it's a hard rule that you don't turn in on a guy, even with minimal overlap. Reason being, because the guy on the inside is usually on the limit, and the guy on the outside ends up tbe loser. Safer to just not turn in, and is why it's so important to never open the door in the first place.

From the onboard, Taylor saw a huge opening. They have very limited visibility in those prototype cars. Albuquerque probably didn't see Taylor in his mirror either.

Lol of course I'd file an incident report. Then the stewards would look at it and say NFA. I'm not really sure what your point. Racing drivers are never really happy unless they're leading by a mile

I'm a fan of GM. I'm a massive fan of Jeff Gordon. I'm typically a fan of WTR. I don't agree with that call at all. I am willing to bet that if that had happened with any other car during any other time of any race, it would have constituted a penalty.

As for the rest of the prototypes, I felt that there was almost no coverage for the non - Caddies. That being said, GM was on its own planet, so that's probably why.
I do think there is promise for DPi going into the rest of the season. Daytona is sort of a special case, let's see what happens at Sebring.

For the rest of the classes for me:
PC - Nothing of note happened outside of some yellow flags.
GTLM - Great run by the group as a whole. I thought it was a fair win for the Ford.
GTD - Though I'm typically an Audi fan, the Alegra Motorsports entry is a great story and a well deserved win. Acura and Lexus had a few surprising moments (Acura more so than Lexus), which bodes well for the new cars. This class will be fun to watch moving forward.

The only other problem is that we have wait almost 2 months between now and Sebring. On to the 12 hour!
