Sounds like there could be some more snow for tomorrow, including on the power stage. This rally could have another twist in it yet.

As for whose car is quickest its hard to tell, RMC is always a bit of an anomaly because of the conditions.

Is it weird that JML is the only driver who hasn't made a major mistake?
There is still an entire day to go, Latvala can crash out on the very final corner without surprising anybody.

From memory Breen, Mikkelsen and Tanak (IIRC he has just lost time with car problems) have had fairly clean runs.

I've spent the last hour pouring through YouTube, and have found close to an hour's worth of fan footage, most in HD, of Day 2 & Day 3 (there's Day 1 too, but it's mostly black ). I was thinking of posting all of it here, organized by day, so people can find it all in one spot....but I don't know how to do the Spoiler tab thing to reduce the size of the lost...any help?

Right now I'll take anything but an Ogier win.
Yes, he's arguably the best but, after 4 years of him winning, I'm over it.

spoiler tabs are just
- [spoiler*] [/spoiler*] without the *, a YouTube playlist is probably easiest on the hardware though (it has to load everything when the spoiler is expanded).

Yeah sure, Red Bull TV. Expert at finishing 15th, maybe

From the stage times so far it seems like the Ford and Hyundai are a cut above the Toyota and Citroen. All quite close, which is great.
I think it also shows in the video footage. Most of everything I've been able to go through, the Hyundai and especially the Fords look much more planted on the road than the Toyota and Citroen, which seem to be a lot more tail happy.

It's also cool watching Breen on the same stages, you can really see him sliding around much more with the lower downforce.

Tänak has an engine problem, with his Fiesta running on two cylinders. He got it going again, but the performance is compromised, and he took a massive penalty for checking in late. The net result is that he lost second place to Latvala, and is looking vulnerable to Sordo in third.

Breen is only 2 second behind Sordo, if he can have a great final stage and Tanak takes another hit with his engine, we could have a 2016 car on the podium

I would love it if something similar happened to Ogier & JML wins for Toyota on their return.

I thought it was suppose to be live on Redbull's site?

His lead is took big. Latvala would need Ogier to bin it.

I don't know. I don't have Red Bull TV. I've just been following it on Autosport live.

You're probably thinking of the power stage, which starts in about five minutes.

There is snow on the power stage which will favour Juho Hanninen who is the only driver with a full set of studs on or in his car. Hopefully the stage can go ahead, the "fans" at Rallye Monte Carlo are terrible for causing stage cancellations in the last few years.

The battle for 3rd could be a very slow one, neither Sordo or Breen have any studs and Tanak has his engine problems.

E - Snow is only light, no advantage for the studs.

E2 - Snow is getting heavy, Neuville is through but the conditions are getting worse as more cars come through.

E3 - Ogier wins the rally, Neuville wins the power stage and the Team Estonia bobsleigh team hangs on to the podium (If he can survive the road section).

Brilliant stuff from Tänak, wringing the neck out of it over the last five kilometres. He dropped forty seconds to Sordo going up the Col, but took a few seconds back coming down.

A few? He took back 33 seconds on the last section of the stage!

Still feeling gutted for that tiny mistake of Neuville yesterday. Such a small mistake, but he paid it cash :ouch:

Agreed, that was really impressive from Tanak.

I can't wait to see these cars flat out in Sweden now. Hopefully there's lots of snow.

I'm watching replays of Monte Carlo, and Ott Tänak said something interesting - that the car is "better than the rubbish we had last year". Since his 2016 car was built and run by M-Sport, I wonder if it's not a jab at DMACK. It wouldn't surprise me, given that Evans' winter tyres were apparently made of cheese, but given some of the performances Tänak put in last year and the stage times Evans was setting in the dry, I think M-Sport might have an outstanding driver line-up on their hands.

And did anyone catch the interview with the Ford executive after Turini? He said that Ford will continue to work closely with M-Sport - I wonder if Ford will renew their association with M-Sport and if we will see the return of the Ford World Rally Team. And since M-Sport built the cars, they could probably enter three as Ford and three as M-Sport.
