Pep said that he put out a strong team out of respect for Burton.

Aaron Ramsey to Juventus in the Summer looks like a done deal on a five year contract, I'm completely bewildered by this whole situation with him and Arsenal, he's a fantastic player that I'd love to see at United and Arsenal are making a huge mistake

It is understood that Aitor Karanka has asked for his release from Forest and it has been granted.

No real reason has been given and it must come as a blow to Forest fans as the club currently finds itself 7th, one place and 3 points away from the play-offs, their best season so far for a good number of years.

11th January - Aitor Karanka (Nottingham Forest, resigned) Championship

Sacked - 22
Approaches - 2
Resigned - 2

Total - 26

Games this weekend.

Saturday
Brighton v Liverpool
Burnley v Fulham
Cardiff v Huddersfield
Chelsea v Newcastle (5.30 BT)
Crystal Palace v Watford
Leicester v Southampton
West Ham v Arsenal (12.30 Sky)

Sunday
Everton v Bournemouth (2.15 Sky)
Tottenham v Man United (4.30 Sky)

Two big games at the bottom of the table tomorrow.

What is Nick Pope's status with Burnley? Is he still injured?

No, he played in the FA cup last weekend but he may not replace Heaton as first choice now he's reclaimed it and done well. It's certainly a tough call to make and it could go either way. Hart looks finished at Burnley now though, if they can find someone who'll take him.

The Leeds spying stuff is pathetic too, should give them a big points deduction, as that will stop anyone else from even thinking about doing something like this in the future.

I had completely forgotten about Heaton and I even saw him in the highlights of their last game.

Turkey is completely broken at this point, Fenebache is in the Relegation zone and none of the other big 3 are in European places.

Thats what happens when your currency becomes worthless but half your squad is paid in Euros.

Two own goals by Fulham v Burnley, Burnley had zero shots on target but won 2-1, how unlucky can you get!

Quite excited for the Spurs-United game in a bit.

Cracking win for United, 1-0 away to Spurs. United were the better team in the first half, Spurs dominated the second half, but it was a late first half goal from Rashford that decided it.

David De Gea was exceptional, making 11 saves in the second half, though a couple of the Spurs players may be wondering how they didn't score. Some people may say we rode a bit of luck in the second half today, but like Ole said, you're allowed to have a top keeper.

I would have liked to see Ole make a change to our formation to counter Spurs formation change at half time. Spurs change upped thier performance against us, and that may be why hiring Ole instead of Poch in the summer (assuming Poch is open to it) could be the wrong move.

Poch showed real tactical nouse there and I didn't see Ole make a change that matched it. It didn't pay off for Poch thanks to a combination of some good defending, David De Gea being David De Gea like in goal and some poor finishing from Spurs players. Regardless of any that 6 wins in 6 games for Ole, his fantastic run continues and there was more excitement in that match than in the whole season under Jose.

Fantastic result and performance, Pogba's ball for Rashford was sublime and the finish was great as well, De Gea is Superhuman!!

Easy for the spurs boss though. When you are second best there are things you can try. You need the dressing room to get that sorted. If you are the best team in a half you can't fix what isn't broken and your options are much more restricted without the dressing room to explain what and why.

At least we're back on the "Where would Man United be without David de Gea" bus.

An excellent performance from him, it has to be said.

Fair point 👍, I would have still liked to see a more positive reaction from United in the second half. Perhaps that is more to do with the strength in depth of the squad available than Ole though. Players gave everything.

It is ironic that a team that Mourinho helped to build just couldn't play under his management style. The turnaround since he left, however, is quite remarkable - albeit a team of that calibre should have been performing better to begin with. But I wonder how much the turnaround is down to having a manager with a far better appreciation for the way that Man United are 'supposed' to play... arguably Solskjaer, despite his relative inexperience as a manager, has that particular ace card in trumps, and hence if they continue to churn out old-fashioned gritty wins like this, it will be very hard to justify bringing in someone else as manager at the end of the season. I'm certainly no expert on Man United, but when I saw the headlines about Gareth Southgate being in the frame I nearly spat out my wine (although it was £3-a-bottle Lidl wine, so that would not have been a bad thing).

I remember months ago people arguing that the players just weren't good enough and the squad was merely average. The players who were all record-breaking - or close to it - transfers and winners of multiple domestic and continental (and international) trophies and individual awards, weren't good enough to get Mourinho any higher than van Gaal, even after he signed the league equivalent of player of the year from Italy, France, Germany and Spain... in the same season.

And here we are, six games after he's gone and they look like a top-four-but-not-a-top-two side.

What exactly was "the special one" playing at anyway? Whatever it was, I miss it

Edit: PREMIER LEAGUE LIQUID ALERT! Huddersfield and Wagner part by mutual contempt. I mean consent.

Watching United play almost every game this season it's obvious the tactics have changed. We're playing much higher up the pitch now and using the width from the full backs a lot more effectively, but I do wonder how much of an effect the feel good factor is having and if that wanes will the performances keep up.

If Ole can keep them going then he deserves the job permanently, he doesn't have to win every game, I wouldn't even say top 4 should be the criteria because in theory we could win every game and not get it, but if keeps us playing the way we have been he's got to be a serious contender. What we need to avoid is doing what Chelsea did with Di Matteo and only give him token support. Di Matteo got a 1 year contract for winning the Champions League and then was gone a few months into it, if we take achance on Ole we have to back that up with a proper contract and proper support and be willing to give him a chance.

That Gareth Southgate story made me laugh, there's obviousely not a shred of truth about it. IMO the permanent job is between Zidane, Pochettino and Solskjaer and no doubt the club will have already spoken with Zidane and given what goes on in football they have probably made contact with Pochettino in some way too.

Some people have criticised the players for not performing under Jose, but the way i seee it if I put my Admin Assistant on tax compliance Work, my Tax Compliance Assistants on admin work and then proceeded to tell everyone how rubbish they all were at thier jobs when it didn't work too well, I probably wouldn't get 100% support and commitment from them for very long, if at all

I think that at the moment we have a very good first team but we don't have the depth we used to. The likes of Fred might turn out to be good enough, but he obviousely isn't match fit and confident at the moment.

Reus looks to win his 3rd POTM....in 4 months. It's a joke, EA Sports included a 40% fan vote, while the EPL's is only 5%. It's hardly a real award. That said though, it's not like his first two were undeserved (but Sancho's is debatable).

Werner was the leading scorer in December and wasn't even included in the vote, because everybody hates Leipzig.

No matter who takes over at Huddersfield they are still going down, I have said before on this thread that they lack of quality and their two strikers only scored five league goals between them in 2018.

No wins in the last nine in the league and 11 points from 22 games, its going to take an escape of West Brom 2005-levels for them to survive

Guiseppe Rossi is currently training with United and without a club, Huddersfield could do far worse than give him a shot on a pay as you play contract. If he plays they pay him, if he picks up an injury, they don't. As they're after a new manager, a certain Jose is availalbe ;).

Man City 3-0 Wolves, Boly sent off for Wolves on 19 minutes for tackle on B Silva, decision seemed harsh to me, City cruising after that, two goals from Jesus and one goal being credited to Coady as an own goal.

Rumours going round that Harry Kane is out for at least a month because of the ankle injury he picked up towards the end of the United game.

Looks as if Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane will be taking over at Notts Forest.

Harry Kane out until early March with ankle ligament injury, Son is off to the Asia games for South Korea for a few weeks as well.

Big blow for Tottenham.

They're very thin in midfield as well with Sissoko picking up an injury at the weekend. They already have Dier and Wanyama out and apparently Dembele is going to china. I wouldn't bet against them dropping a few points in the coming weeks.

Huge.

Kane & Son are a company that Spurs can ill-afford to be without!
