The decision not to sign any players in the Summer has backfired on them, they desperately need reinforcements now....

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is going to be out several weeks after injuring his knee in warmups during their last game. With Clyne out on loan I'm guessing Milner would move into that position?

Milner has played left-back before but there's no reason why there isn't a recall clause in Clyne's loan. Perhaps he's been turfed out on loan for disciplinary reasons?

With the Clyne loan there is probably a loan fee involved and therefore a recall clause is not permitted but since everyone always fails to disclose all these sorts of details who knows for sure. Maybe Liverpool have another good young right back up their sleeves, I don't know and anyway Milner at right back won't be too much of a disaster, it's only for a couple of games.

As already mentioned Spurs have far bigger problems with their injuries.

I'm reading from Twitter that the FA is going to introduce a sin bin at steps seven and below from next season. That's the Northern Premier and Southern League downwards.

There was a pilot study this season using step seven clubs and incidents of dissent went down 38% with use of the sin bin. The details are somewhat vague but it appears to be a ten minute "temporary dismissal" for dissent and dissent only.

Bring it in at the top level immediately. And mic the refs too. Seeing footballers surround referees and intimidate him like a gang has always been disgraceful.

Leeds Boss Bielsa to hold a news conference shortly, its said to do with Spy-gate, is he going to resign?!

He is not resigning, but he did confess that he has seen all of his opponents training sessions this season, he also said that what he has done is not illegal and not a violation of the law.

So the "he would never get away with it" argument is invalid.

That conference/briefing sounded extraordinary, it lasted over an hour and during which he showed the assembled media the levels of detail that he and his 27 staff obtain on their opponents, it was basically a powerpoint presentation and those who witnessed it called it a tactical masterclass which left them stunned.

I've been waiting for a Bielsa meltdown all season and to be honest, what we got was even better. No messing.

The truth is, and it might just be my opinion, but every pro club up and down the country uses spies to spy on the opposition. They're usually just called "scouts" and it's only a problem if they get caught, even if every one does it.

A training session is behind closed doors though, so to speak. It would be tailored to the next opposition so knowing what they have planned is a huge advantage and in my opinion unfair. A scout just sits at a game and watches, there's no way around that; it's identical to watching hours of footage which has been the norm for years and is readily available to all.

What you suspect about other clubs may be true but with an impending punishment for Leeds they'll be putting a stop to it pretty sharpish.

Games this weekend.

Saturday
Arsenal v Chelsea (5.30 BT)
Bournemouth v West Ham
Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Man United v Brighton
Newcastle v Cardiff
Southampton v Everton
Watford v Burnley
Wolves v Leicester (12.30 Sky)

Sunday
Fulham v Tottenham (4pm Sky)
Huddersfield v Man City (1.30pm Sky)

Looks like West Ham's Arnautovic is on his way Guangzhou in China after the club have opened talks, he is not in the West Ham squad tomorrow.

Cardiff have signed Oumar Niasse from Everton on loan and looks set to break their transfer record for Emiliano Sala from Nantes for £20 million.

Anthony Martial close to agreeing a five-year deal at United, great news that is. 👍

His body language after last weekend's Arsenal game looked like he had already checked out. A big win like that and he couldn't get off the pitch fast enough.

There were two 4-3 cracking games today, between Wolves/Leicester and Liverpool/Palace, Arsenal just perhaps surprisingly beat Chelsea 2-0 and Solskjaer made history by winning his seventh game on the trot.

After that first goal I was just waiting for a typical Arsenal error, pleasantly surprised with this. Before kickoff I expected Chelsea's blunted attack to be honed by our shoddy defending and end up with a score draw.

Every now and then, I try to follow the Premier League. I saw the tail end of Liverpool taking down Crystal Palace earlier today. Liverpool FC looks pretty good from what I've seen.

Huddersfield 0-3 Man City, quite a boring game, Danilo scored via a massive deflection in the first half, Sterling should've had a penalty, goals from Sterling and Sane in the 10 minutes after half time, City barely got out of second gear, Fulham v Tottenham up next.

Sky Sports thought they spotted Dortmund under 23 coach Jan Siewart in the crowd, who is reportedly in for the Huddersfield job, they sent a reporter to interview him but it turned out to be some guy who looks a bit like him, it got mentioned numerous times in the second half which shows how bad the game was....

PSG beat Guingamp 9-0 last night with hat-tricks for Neymar and Mbappe, and they are now 13 points clear of second place Lille with two games in hand, Monaco meanwhile stay second bottom.

The only thing that kept me sort of interested was the first half. "This is only 1-0, really?" Huddersfield just makes so many fundamental errors. Trying to make a long pass out of your own end gets picked off and leads to the Sane goal. On the NBC broadcast the commentators were talking about if there were any Huddersfield players that could be of a positive use to other clubs when they go down and I think the color commentator was brutally honest when he said, "not really". Maybe Steve Mounie but even he blew a certain goal from inside the 6 yard box as time expired.

Now let's see if Fulham has any fight in them against a depleted Spurs side.

PSV have Spurs’d it, what a time to be Ajax.

This is the first season for FC Emmen in the top Dutch league. Good stuff, now all Ajax needs to do is not do the same against Heerenveen.

Edit.

Nope Spurs'd it.

Llorente, who is supposed to be replacing Kane for the next couple of months has scored in his first start of 2019. It happened to be in the wrong net, but still, minor details.

Hopefully Spurs will drop points today, Arsenal beating Chelsea was unexpected, but a great result for United. If the Spurs v Fulham game stays 1-1 there will be just 5 points between 6th and 3rd. City are keeping the pressure on Liverpool, this could be a very exciting 2nd half of the season the way it's going.

Tottenham win 1-2 with virtually the last kick of the game thanks to a Winks header. Poor Fulham.

Huddersfield have appointed Jan Siewart as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract, He left Borussia Dortmund II to replace David Wagner who left last week, Siewart was a coach at Dortmund but does have some management experience at VFL Bochum in 2015, at 36 years old he is now the Premier Leagues youngest manager, Huddersfield are rock bottom of the table, 10 points off safety.

Higuaín to Chelsea moves closer after Milan agree a deal for his replacement, Genoa 21-year old wonderkid Krzysztof Piatek for £30 million, the Higuaín move will be a loan to the end of the season with option for a further year. Morata is set to join Atletico Madrid on loan.

Barcelona have signed Kevin Prince Boateng from Sassuolo on loan with option to buy for £7.1 million, that's a bit of a strange one.
