Oh dear oh dear - Walker costs England dear, just minutes after Ashley Young deliberately elbowed a player in the face which could have earned him a straight red card...

Seems to be a lot of messy football going on on that pitch, constant panic! Maybe it's because the midges are eating them alive!

And then Kane gets rugby tackled and it isn't a penalty...
They really ought to have some kind of video refereeing system...

Some of the England players shouldn't be on the pitch, quite frankly - I reckon at least one positive sub at half time is essential. Germany left it far too late to change things - I hope England don't make the same mistake.

I preferred the city they are playing in when it was called Tsaritsyn, or Stalingrad.

Also for some reason, I found myself supporting Tunisia. :odd:

Seriously, how is it possible to officiate a game so badly when there are 8 officials watching - eight...?!

-

edit: About time they took Sterling off, and about time they put Rashford on - good call from Southgate - should have happened 10 minutes ago though!!

Lol - one minute they are rugby tackling him, next minute he's unmarked 5 ft from the goal... bizarre defending from Tunisia.

England have been woeful in the 2nd half - far, far too slow and laboured... and yet they've shown a great deal more energy than Tunisia, who have been cynical at times and time-wasting at every opportunity - England deserved at least one penalty and hence 2-1 would be a very fair result.

Southgate has dodged a bullet - Lingard was bloody awful, Ashley Young was rubbish and a few other players just didn't deliver. Loftus-Cheek looked alright but is a clumsy oaf and not nearly sharp enough when it was required. Thank goodness for Harry Kane!

Why didn't England just do that anyway. They are not 🤬 Arsenal, needing to walk the ball into the net.

And it was. But England need to play better. Belgium won't be too scared.

ENGLAND ARE GONNA WIN THE...….nah I wont do it!

I agree that 2-1 is a fair result, they started well be tailed off, need to play better though.

Well, football's not coming home yet. It's more looking at it on Rightmove. But a win is a win is a win. And even Germany didn't get one of those. Or Argentina. Or Brazil.

If relief is what is meant to be felt from winning your opening match it doesn't bode well for the rest of the tournament!

Hopefully they will improve for the next match and get a fairer ref and VAR room with actual people in it.

That was a bit of a ridiculous match, 2 blatant penalties missed, but also England should have steamrolled Tuisia in the first half. Should have been 2 or 3 goals up at half time. Typically we left it late.

Played so well in first 20 mins then arrogance took over and they thought ‘we’ve got this’, they relaxed got themselves into a hole that they really struggled to get out of. Ref was woeful, as were Tunisia. Got the result. Move on and realise what they did right in the first 20 mins and do that the whole of the remaining games. Alli awful, Walker arrogance personified without reason. Much to improve on.

Maguire had a good game I thought, plus Loftus-Cheek looked good when he came on.

Southgate has dodged a bullet

Perfect analysis of yet another same ol' same ol' England performance at a major finals....

Yet another indifferent performance, very little midfield creativity, how few times did any English player take on and beat an opponent......

Southgate is a yes man, just there as a safe bet for the FA...

Lingard, Sterling, Alli were all dire tonight- yet another dissappointing midfield a la Brazil '14, SA 2010 and Germany 2006.
