Is it me, or has every team had to wear their away kit at some point, whether it clashed or not?

Happens every major international tournament and it's partly because of the kit policy. Every team has to have one light kit and one dark kit, even when both are actually light or both are dark and you can't (according to FIFA) have both teams using a kit from the same shade, so one team has to change kit even when there is no actual clash. If this dark verses light policy actually causes a clash (usually this only happens with red or blue kits) you get the situation where you have both teams in their away kit.

I've just checked my predictions for the last 16 - made on December 1st - and I got three of the four teams right... and in the right order. Only Egypt mucked it up; thanks Ramos:

Uruguay - Portugal
France - Argentina
Brazil - Mexico
Iceland - Australia
Spain - Egypt
Belgium - Poland
Germany - Switzerland
Colombia - England

However, I goosed up the match orders, so I'll need to revise the rest of the knockout section:

Portugal - France
Brazil - Belgium
Spain - Iceland
Germany - England

Then:
Portugal - Brazil
Spain - Germany

And, finally:
Brazil - Germany

One downside of these World Cup prediction games is that they make you want really specific things to happen - for example, I'll be quids in if Peru-Australia stays 1-0, and if Denmark-France is either 1-1 (ideal) or simply a win for Denmark (good but not as good as a 1-1). I would also like if someone (preferably a France player) gets a red card as well.

They won't bother to dispute the game, since they don't need to. Why risk injuries, cards and fatigue for their players when they are already through?
More important games ahead, with very few days to rest.

It's mostly Denmark who locked the game. Australia did the same and it almost worked against France. Trying not to lose rarely produce decent game.

Not quite sure how it took Argentina 190 minutes of football to figure out the "Get the ball to Messi!" strategy.

Messi had 12 shots already from the previous 2 games. It's not like he didn't touch the ball. But Nigeria is playing way more open and that gives Argentina more space. Both need to win so it's normal to see more space between lines. Argentina also improved from the first 2 games.
