T8 dropped the Autobarn livery for NZ because Autobarn doesn't operate in NZ.

I've never heard of National Storage, so I'm not sure what they were getting at...

National Storage aren’t huge, but they’re a decent sized company here in Aus. They’ve been a sponsor of Brisbane and Richmond in the AFL so they have some money behind them. They’ve been in the 888 cars since Queensland Raceway.

Autobarn might not see it as a worthy sponsorship for this round as they don’t operate in NZ, but National Storage might still see it as good TV time. Different perspectives I guess..

Found this quote in the article rather interesting.

“We’ve got a couple (of tests) lined up at the moment but we are in talks with a few other teams, the more the merrier basically,” Eaton told Speedcafe.com.

“There are some (teams) that are just in the main championship and perhaps some that are venturing into Super2 as well.

NZV8s at the moment are a s***show they normally have like 10 Cars and have this invitational class just for this event to improve numbers. The BMWs don’t race in this class and the others in class 3 are used in GTRNZ so they do what they like to them

Yeah there were 2 I think.


A BA Falcon I saw had a pretty crazy rear wing. It was the original Supertourer wing, but with the BA V8supercar rear wing end plates tacked on. Wasn’t going to win any prizes at Pebble Beach, that’s for sure.

Not sure why this was delayed to a post race investigation. Seemed pretty clear on the replays that the wheels moved before the car hit the ground.
