They should give points, but divide them by the amount of race that has actually been run. We’re just over a quarter of the race, so they should give out quarter points.

Is it really a race if nearly half of the race is just some Safety Car parade laps? If they really have no intention on properly restarting the race, why do this just to get points awarded?

This isn't NASCAR, but when a wet race is halted, do they continue next day or cancel and award points?

Cancel and no points if half distance isn’t made. They can’t race the next day, due to many reasons but the fact that it’s a temporary track is the main one, they start unpacking basically the second that the race is finished.

I mean NASCAR rules.

Big shame about today's race. At least this way the championship is least affected by it and points stay the same as yesterday.

Quite frustrating looking back. The Dumbrell clean up took far too long, could taken at least 5 minutes off that, ran a fair few more laps in, and then as Skaife and Ingall were saying the first red flag didn’t need to come out so early. The minimum distance could’ve been met.

All in hindsight though.

I was wondering if the clean up for the Dumbrell incident was taking so long because he was refusing to get out of the car.

But in the end the right call was made to halt the race. It was far too dangerous for all concerned (Drivers, marshalls and camera operators).

With all the lightning around, I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to be one of the Camera Operators high up in a cherry picker. :nervous:

That’s flirting with a potential dose of the quickening :scared:

Maybe Holdsworth co-drives at Nissan?

Would be a handy pickup. But apparently Holdsworth is chasing a full time drive.
While Speedcafe.com understands there could be several movements in the driver silly season, Holdsworth is not entertaining the prospect of becoming a co-driver at this point.

“At this stage I’m not focussed on co-driving, that is last resort. You have to look at all options,” he added.

Think Lee will have to settle for the last resort. Not sure where else he would fit in.

Yeah, can't see where he'll fit. He can drive, but hasn't tasted the Altima. That's if anyone is leaving that team.
I also can't see where Caruso and Heimgartner would go. If Macaulay Jones is in Blanchards seat, that's it. I think MSR are sticking with one car, unless they change their minds and buy one. 23Red are sticking with one car, until they get their current car/team combination up to speed. I'll be shocked if 23Red do get an REC, to place Frosty in next to Wil.

Unsurprisingly after the rumoured T8 move fell apart. De Silvestro has announced that she's staying with Kelly Racing in 2019.

Interesting to see both Jacobson and Rullo's names linked to full time drives next year. Caruso and Heimgartner, gone?
If it's Jacobsen & Rullo in and Caruso & Heimgartner out, that's shouting all over the Universe that dollars are the only consideration and they've had their seats sold out from underneath them - kinda like Reynolds > Winterbottom at FPR really.

Sounds like what happened to Jacobson, a while back.

23red aligning themselves with Tickford, to run as the fourth car? Would be quite ironic to see Will replace Frosty in the Tickford garage.
