If I'm honest I thought Atkinson was horrendous. Every single 50:50 decision went for United and I felt the occasion got to him at times. Fabinho fairly booked for a pro foul only for Young to give him exactly the same and escape a booking minutes later. Mane's handball VAR decision is by the letter of the law a no-goal these days so no complaints there. The Origi foul and decision was a joke though. Unbelievable for it not to be overturned. But this Liverpool team is still improving, last year that's a 1-0 defeat. Every point counts.
I didn't think Atkinson was great today, but I don't think he was overly favouring United outside of a couple of key decisions that went our way. I can see why the foul on Origi wasn't given however, there was some contact but arguably not enough for Origi to throw himself over like he did.

Unlike the handball, which is a letter of the law yes it touched his hand or no it didn't situation, the foul on Origi is a subjective view based on the amout of force used etc. as a result VAR wouldn't overrule it. The other reason VAR wouldn't overrule it was because it occurred in a different phase of play to the goal. A lot happened after that foul.

In my opinion, yes it was a foul, but I have seen them given and not given plenty of times. Althout I understand the frustration over that decision, especially in a game against United, Liverpool have received plenty of let's just say, generous decisions so far this season. I totally understand the frustration though, I have screamed at the TV many times for "strange" decisions to be made by VAR myself so far this season.

Personally, I am hating the way VAR is being used in the Premier League. We've watched it being introduced internationally and the kinks get ironed out, then the Premier League decide to implement it in their own stupid way. It doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't just copy the system already in place and working.

The FA Cup first round has just been drawn, The FA had a small problem with the draw because of Bury and the fact they wont/cant take part meant the draw was disjointed, so what hey decided to do was whichever team was drawn last that team would get a bye to the second round, step forward Chichester City, the lowest ranked team left in the competition who get a bye to the second round and £36k prize money, good for them! 👍

David Luiz at Arsenal should've happened years ago. Perfect marriage of incompetence, comedy, and overrated.

Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal. Mousset with the goal, Sheffield United brilliant Arsenal terrible, as simple as that!

"I'm not surprised with Arsenal. 10 years ago I called them babies and they still are. I was so happy to play them because I knew we would win. Even when Robin Van Persie joined in 2012, the first day I shake his hand I said 'welcome to a mans club', At the beginning he was upset then he was like 'your completely right Patrice'."

-Patrice Evra, who was a guest on Sky's coverage of the game tonight.

Evra also called his time at Man United a holiday compared to his two and a half years at Juventus. He said they were his most challenging and rewarding seasons.

That's when Man United were good though. Now, the players are playing like they actually are on holiday.

Here are this weekends games.

Tonight
Southampton v Leicester (8pm Sky)

Saturday
Brighton v Everton
Burnley v Chelsea (5.30 Sky)
Man City v Aston Villa (12.30 BT)
Watford v Bournemouth
West Ham v Sheffield United

Sunday
Newcastle v Wolves (2pm Sky)
Arsenal v Crystal Palace (4.30)
Liverpool v Tottenham (4.30 Sky)
Norwich v Man United (4.30)

Bit of a muddled weekend again because of the teams taking part in the Europa League, meaning four games on Sunday.

Liverpool v Tottenham is a repeat of the Champions League final and its the first time that West Ham and Sheffield United have met since the Tevez/Mascherano/third party row back in 2007 that contributed to United's relegation from the Premier League.

Joint biggest win in Premier League history.
Biggest away win in top flight history.
Club-record away win.

A staggering score line, got to feel for the Southampton fans, most of which left at half time, the stadium looked half full in the second half.

The weather didn't help. Man City's ticket handle on Twitter was quick to point out that Man United have only scored 10 goals this season...

So. At least we can look forward to the next few games. Which are Man City in the Carabao Cup...and Man City in the Premier League. Away. Where we lost 6-1 last season.

Todays results.

Man City 3-0 Aston Villa
West Ham 1-1 Sheffield United
Watford 0-0 Bournemouth
Brighton 3-2 Everton

Brighton winner came from Digne own goal in the 94th minute!

Burnley v Chelsea to come.

American Christian Pulisic scores his first two goals for Chelsea and they lead 2-0 at halftime.

**EDIT** Pulisic now has a hat trick. Chelsea 4 Burnley 0

Haven't really talked about my other team Swansea much but we have our first South Wales derby against Cardiff tomorrow since 2014, We had a great start to the season as we were unbeaten in our first six and were top of the Championship on a few occasions but we have since had a blip and not won in our last five and a win tomorrow will take us back into the play off places as its very tight at the top, Cardiff are in the bottom half four pints behind Swansea.

I hope we batter them!

Todays results.

Newcastle 1-1 Wolves
Arsenal 2-2 Crystal Palace
Norwich 1-3 Man United
Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham

Palace came back to draw at Arsenal after Arsenal had a two goal lead at half time, Arsenal then had a late winner ruled out for handball and their captain Xhaka riled the crowd up when he was subbed basically telling them to eff off and took his shirt off whilst he went down the tunnel.

Much better performance from Man United, we had two penalties saved (those woes continue!) but goals from McTominay, Rashford and Martial sealed a convincing win and we are now up to seventh.

In the big game Kane took the lead for Spurs after just 49 seconds, second half goals from Henderson and a pen from Salah got the win in a game which Liverpool largely dominated.

Not a lot happened in the Newcastle-Wolves game but Sean Longstaff got sent off late on for a bad lunge.

Belgium and Netherlands are in talks to Merge leagues again as both leagues have their TV contracts up soon, so it can be feasible.

Might be the only way to keep up with the bigger leagues or atleast France.

Timing and execution are just perfect.

Carabao Cup stuff this week with the fourth round, both Sky TV games are on Wednesday, Liverpool v Arsenal and Chelsea v Man United will of course be on separate channels.

Southampton players have donated Fridays wages to the club's in-house charity The Saints Foundation following their 0-9 humiliation at the hands of Leicester...at least something good came out of it on their end!

Those talks have been ongoing since 1996.

Never going to happen as it will force a lot of 1st division teams to the second division.

2nd leagues in both countries is still professional so the risk of going bankrupt is low if they control their finances and such.

Do they need a complete agreement by every team or just a majority?

This latest proposal is an 18 team league with 10 from Netherlands and 8 from Belgium.
