Even though it was a Porsche that knocked it out?
Yeah, sorry kinda confusing as that incident doesn't correlate with my hate for the Fords, I just root against Ford harder when Corvette crashes or isnt doing well. I've never liked Ford, I hate Chip Ganassi, and then that whole bull:censored: fiasco from 2016 LeMans. If it wasn't for the 2016 LeMans fiasco, and Chip Ganassi I'd probley have no problem with them. I do however love the 2005/2006 and new Ford GT roadcars.

Man, I feel sorry for Aston Martin. Didn’t they lose power in BOP after the earned pole? Doesn’t sound like a sport after that happens.

Yea, drop in turbo boost, 5kg added, and 2L reduction in fuel, really quite a heavy BoP compared to rest, especially as the Astons didn't need it. Shame really, as the BoP for the rest of the GTE's is nearly spot on surprisingly.

Edit: Looks like the #95 Aston has had a moment at Arnage...

Seems to be a mixture of things that have worked against them: BOP knocked off 2 litres of fuel capacity as well as reduce their turbo boost level. Tyre wear issues have also played a role in both Astons falling back through the pack.

The part I bolded is to me the reason that the BoP hit was really not warranted for the Astons. That alone would have been a detriment enough without getting the hit.

First #97 goes off at Porsche Curves, now #95 hits the wall hard at Indianapolis. Not to mention #98 stopping on the Mulsanne Straight earlier.

Not a good night for Aston Martin. :indiff:

Edit: #97 back on track.

I'm back finally from work, so what the heck did I miss guys?

Toyota running 1-2 (#7 from #8) 2 laps ahead of #17 SMP.

Battle between #26 G-Drive and #36 Signatech in LMP2 is currently on pause after safety car periods, perhaps indefinitely - gap is nearly a lap.

GTE Pro honours is swinging between #51 Ferrari and #92 Porsche. Class in general is pretty close.

#85 Ford is one lap ahead of #56 Porsche in GTE Am.

Aston Martin are having a race to forget: GTE Pro cars got BOP’d pre-race effectively undoing the work done to get class pole. Both cars have crashed, with #95 out of action but #97 is still going, albeit 7 laps down on the #51 Ferrari.

LMP2 gap is actually only half a lap, 1:37 at the moment. Becomes tough to tell on timing once it gets that big though. Still a crying shame after how fantastic that battle has been. I don't know exactly how it occurred(other than obviously safety car) because they were only 6 seconds apart the last time I had checked and had been pitting on the same sequence.

Here's hoping some luck can get it closed back up again, and both cars survive to get back at it.

Thanks for the catch up. Aww, poor Aston Martin and wow on the GTE AM Ford GT.

The Porsche curves section is the Death Reaper of these races.

I always remember the pior Deltawing that got sent out flying by a Toyota (ts30 iirc) through that section... I was a but sad when I saw it.

Yeah, I still remember some of the crashes from last year.
and the Porsche Curves are the most frustrating section for me on La Sarthe. I probably make the most mistakes on that part than any other section.

Easily my favourite part of the track, when you get it spot on it feels absolutely mega.

It does feel mega when I actually get it right, but I don't do that enough. Though, I still like that section more than most sections on other race tracks.
