2019 Super Formula SF19 Coming to Gran Turismo Sport Later This Month

I was a bit surprised that we only got 5 cars in 1.34 but that didnt matter since the Ueno Clinic F1, the Pagani and McLaren Mercedes counts for two each as far as I'm concerned...

However since we get another two cars (in essense) at the end of the month...

5 + 2 = 7

But we also didn’t get any for February so it evens out.

The Super Formula SF 19 will come on 12 march, I'm sorry it's in german but it says a update is coming after the maintenance.

Nope, that magazine article specifically stated March 28th. This is more likely a small update to fix a issue with the rankings page.

I have a question, that is connected especially with formula cars: does the fuel consumption have affinity with the weight of the car, so allow you to have better laps in GTS?

It's been like that since GT5, it would've been a bad move to exclude it from Sport

I agree with you and logically that makes sense. That said, logic isn’t always common in these updates. I’m unfamiliar with the magazine’s credibility. I saw the article though of course could only read the translation. I know it was part of an event in Japan. Was that an official announcement from Sony and PD?

Yes, in GTS the weight of fuel does impact vehicle performance.
Well no it doesn't; I don't notice any extra weight, unlike Project Cars 2 when you really do notice. What does impact vehicle performance in GT Sport are the tyres more than anything. Which in turn would negate any gain provided by a lower fuel load.

Try a flying lap with 15 litres and one with full tank. The gain it's like 0.4s. That's why burning fuel in the outlap (mainly in FIA races) it's crucial. My two cents on it.

Of the about 50 serious aliens I know, 51 say that fuel impacts car handling.

Now you.

Fuel effects car 100% . Every cars tank is 120L so near end of a race a car could have 20% fuel ... so roughly 100 kgs lighter. If your comparing race and qualifying conditions for daily race. During a qualifying session the fuel weight is set to a lower value.

Some say it’s zero in quali.

It was from the official Super Formula magazine. In that particular page, it has the exact screenshots from GTS and the March 28th date.

Ok. So that sounds..... reliable I guess. Nothing corroborated or denied by Sony/PD? There’s no date in the video from them. I’m more suggesting that other companies are better at handling PD’s activity in the media than they are themselves than I am that we’ll wake up with SF cars tomorrow or any other day.

Some of this site's staff has direct-ish contact with PD, so they would've been told already that the March 28th date is a fluke

The article (wrote by @SlipZtrEm ) implies that the update will arrive on March 28th

IF a track is included my money is on Motegi, since it’s on the 2019 SF schedule and probably the best digitized they have between Motegi, Sugo and Okayama.

Could be no track, multiple tracks or a completely different track, too, since PD is quite, well, versatile in their update approach.

I haven’t heard anything on the high roller rumor line yet. Maybe when the guys return from Paris...

Does anyone know if the two cars will be livery changeable? I felt the Mercedes was meh because of its lack of livery change.

I think if there was a new track for the super formula it would be Motegi like MajorWolf said.

I think it will be changeable, since the car is a spec chassis given to the teams so then they do what they want with it (livery and stuff), with the only difference being the engine provider; on the other side we have Mercedes, with their car designed entirely by the team, engine included, I'd suppose they wouldn't want to see a car explicitly named Mercedes with a Ferrari or Red Bull livery, but dallara wouldn't care less what we do with it in terms of paint
