If they cut a bunch of races, they may be forced to abandon the Chase and go old school with the driver having the most points be the champ. One can dream, right?
I spent an entire weekend binging Jelle's channel last year at some point. I was more entertained with marbles than most actual racing series...Dammit, now I want to watch the MarbleLympics again.
There’s so much potential here if we could just see all of the different racing tribes unite. Even in sim racing the open wheel, sports car and stock car drivers and fans are separate. This is the opportunity to get everyone together.

Something that would be interesting is hearing a live-chat with all the drivers. It's pretty much a just-for-fun type deal so there would probably be some pretty good banter.
Looking forward to the race today, mostly because it’s Landon Cassill’s first chance to run competitively in a very long time, even if it’s not a real race.
Majeski, Byron and Kligerman are the favourites, and Smithley (who I hope gets the chance to lap Kyle Busch), Timmy Hill, and Briscoe seem like dark horses. And Dale Jr. of course.
Will be fun to see guys like the Busch brothers, Jimmie, and Austin Dillon who have pretty much zero iRacing experience. There’s guys like Majeski and Hill who are running with a G29 hooked up to an old laptop or monitor and others like Hamlin and Busch who are using five-figure sim rigs.
Positives of the race: Friendly banter and complete confusion of Mike Joy it seems.
Negatives: No way to interview anyone other than Clint or Landon.
Other: Jimmie needs a better internet provider.
That’s exactly why he did so poorly, I don’t think he or his brother (or Jimmie Johnson) had ever been on iRacing. It was definitely the guys who have spent a lot of time on it over the years who were racing for the win.
He didn’t take it very seriously like Hamlin did. He was hanging around the back and got mixed up in some wrecks. Then attrition started working in his favor and was up around 12th and then he T-Boned that car. I don’t think he had any resets left after that.
I just find it funny that they used iracing instead of NASCAR platform, except NASCAR games suck. Also no way of controlling race with anything NASCAR games have.

The most recent NASCAR game is actually decent for a change. But I’m guessing they went with iracing since they’ve been running a series using it for about a decade (if not more).
