PS Does Sardegna C remind anyone else of Knockhill, the layout is kind of similar but in reverse (and you can run Knockers both directions IRL)?
Yes! Just imagine it had the chicane in it. I can see the cars flying into the wall now.

I also hated tonight's round of the Manufacturers Series. I had felt uncomfortable with this race, even though I had finished fifth and fourth at the 4PM and 6:40PM races respectively. I had gave up the ghost in this round of the MS.
At least you managed a couple of good results. My 2nd and 4th grid slots turned into DNF's.

Americas Slot 4, door #19. Got matched together with the Portuguese #1 IOTW, who immediately got lots of very kind messages as soon as chat opened, so it seems he made some new friends in the earlier slots...
If PD won't ban him for driving like an arse perhaps you can report the double account in FIA...

I've been lucky enough to do a couple of race experience days at Knockhill as birthday presents. With your backside inches from the floor in a Formula 1000 single seater, that chicane is equal parts terrifying and thrilling. You pick a spot on the horizon, gun it and hope there is track on the other side!

Project Cars 2 actually replicates it pretty well.

Rage quit, lost 3K in DR between the two races, and probably my interest in this game. I love the drive, but I can't deal with the bumper car/Forza/Mario kart bull****e any more. There is no incentive to practice and improve when it can all get unraveled by a dirty or reckless/careless driver.

I’m waiting for stricter pens before doing anymore FIA

Against my wisdom, I took the GT-R out to Sardegna. Actually got a bit of slipstream for qualifying and started P12 in a really tight field. Managed to stay in slip the entire race and confirmed the only way to get any result in this car is a great slipstream q and drafting someone the entire race. It's a must because the car has no passing power so climbing up the field because of a bad qualifying is quite difficult. Might be worse than a Lancer on a straight based on yesterday.

Is there any way to send PD a race video/finish to get points awarded? My points from last night's race did not post.
No. Chances are you had a disconnect before your result registered.
I believe the are only counting the top two races of the five rounds so far.

So while mine posted, my points from last night did not exceed my top two of the season so my points total didn’t change.
That's not what he's talking about though:

It would be cool if PD added some of the 'obscure' real circuits to the lineup.

Especially as we got Willow Springs. Not much of a professional circuit anymore. Something like a Gingerman in the US. Or Motorland Aragon if being a bit more high end. After playing PC2 (and that sad sequel) a real street circuit.

Also got to watch a rather wet BTCC round there in 2006.

Proper bump cars era as well.

So for Tokyo next week. Can confirm that you're in trouble if you drive a thirsty car, drive an automatic or are shocking at fuel saving . First lobby test last night and in the Corvette, with short shifting, managed to get to lap 7. You can't put enough fuel in to make it to the end. Major short shifting after that, and even running fuel map 6 for the last two laps, ran out of fuel 3/4 way round the final lap. I did lose slip early on which doesn't help. Poor guy in a GTR had to fuel twice and ended up 1 minute 20 seconds behind the winner.

Going to take some practice with shifting and mapping to keep it to a one stop.

Tried the Vette too and made it to the end after stopping lap 7, but was set to fuel map 3 for the whole second stint and short shifting also. Didn't have any slipstream.

Cheers, Its doable then! Thats all i need to know! :) I was still running fuel map 1 until last few laps hoping my extreme short shifting would suffice

Was in that same race as Tiger and tested a no stop. Crossed the finish line with 0.0 fuel left. I was 1 min 12 seconds behind the winner but that includes penalties and loss of time from a spin. Should be somewhere around a min. Needless to say there was no slip, 1000% shortshifting and 80% of the race on map 6 (rest map 4). This will not work, so going for something else tonight. Anyone care to join? Either 20 or 23 hours-ish

Was the 7 laps at full beans or was there fuel management there too?
map 1, short shifting. Just wanted to see how far i could get using just map 1 and shifting. Knew i wouldn't reach the end, so gives me a benchmark to try something else next time. Bit more management of the map and i'll get to lap 8 which will be fine for finishing with just a one stop. Needed an extra lap of fuel to avoid the map 6 at the end.

Ah right. I didn't know if it was worth going all out in stint 1 to get the gap. But yeah avoiding the 2nd stop sounds very key here. Luckily in DR B I'll likely be with people going flat out all the time meaning at least 2 stops so avoiding it can net me a few positions. Sounds like it'll need a fair bit of practice.
The car owes me after playing up on Weds.

Just wondering if the fuel depletion and tyre wear rates in custom race are the same as in the actual event - can anyone confirm? Planning on running some simulation runs but no idea when I'll get a chance to do them.

Custom race against AI? If so you can change all the settings beforehand including tyre wear and fuel, grip reduction needs to be on Real and Boost Off, I always also just race against one AI opponent as I find them incredibly annoying!

Yup, that was my plan exactly.

Should be as long as you put BoP on for your car
So copy all the settings exactly as per the event notice and BOP and should be same? I've heard some people stating they're not quite the same, but I'll test on that basis anyway.

Not looking forward to this fuel management race next week in Manu. Not a track I am familiar with and I'm guessing a V12 will be pretty thirsty (seemed that way at Suzuka). At least there is a week to practice.

In contrast, tomorrow's Mini adventure seems to require no more than practicing that single braking point!

And Wednesday's Nations race looks like a straight sprint too. Only 12 laps at Autopolis short with racing mediums, tyre wear x5 in gr4. Unless I'm missing something, that's another no-stopper.

I think you have to stop and I still need some saving to make the 1 stop work. Don't know if the 3 secs to change tyres is worth it as tyres should last.

Mini's will just be bumpers cars and whoever bumps best will win....unless you can get out front and have a clean race and I'm not usually that good on the circuit. Might miss it.

Yeah another sprint and not exactly exciting either IMO.

But then 3 laps N24 GR.3. and 23 laps of Big Willow .....AH just seen what we're driving maybe not, but I'll test that one out it might be fun. It's the Red Bull X2014 junior BTW.
