After running test yesterday I'll stand by the 19' Supra which is a car I had never used before and never intended on using. After chasing NA top ghost around for a while the final turn is the only place that S-FR seems to excel but during an actual race nobody in S-FR will have the balls to go around the outside on that corner, lol.

I'm very interested in this race, leave it up to top split to turn open class into a one make :banghead:

Curious if S-FR and Supra both lose same amount of time with full tank or if S-FR has much lighter tank being race car, could be difference.

I think they all have a generic 100 liter...

Is nobody entering Manufacturers tomorrow?? It's hardly been mentioned!

I'm going to enter early and hope that a) I don't crash, b) I'm not ridiculously slow and c) others in the race don't know to fuel save.

I think I'll be OK on one of these at least!

I'll be entering without any hopes. I'm useless at any form of Nurburgring but will just try to keep the thing on track and see what happens. Haven't done much practice at all, maybe try to get some in tomorrow morning

I will be. Debating strategy between no stopping hards, or 1H-2M/2M-1H with fuel save still. Will probably come down to how qualifying goes in the end.

Been preparing for this since the last Gr.3 round - WRX handles great with brake balance -2 but inevitably loses time on the faster portions. 3H + fuel saving seems to be the way to go based on the test lobbies I've been in.

will not enter. I tried with the Citroen but it is horrible to drive on this track. And not just a little, I am about 10 seconds slower in it then in for example an AMG or RCZ. Also had a lot of work again so not enough time to practice.

Worse is that i suffer from being stupid and doing very eratic driving so best not to enter and bother the real sim drivers :D

good luck to you though, hope you will do well!!!

Same with my Lambo. She was salivating at all the corners she could kill me on. But I found my eye in practice. It'll need a Grandma outlap and in the race the 1 stop is safest and will allow me to have decent tyres all race which was the main cause apart from my ineptitude of my spins.

This next round is the second fuel saving race in a row for Manufacturer and my car has a big American V8. I’m not going to waste my time.

Figure 2 meds and 1 hard with slight fuel saving and fill, but with good position might save more. Can't see the point in no stopping, I make over 10 secs per lap with meds so they pay for themselves and since your stopping you can fuel if needed.

My thoughts on whether to enter the next Manu and Nations cup race:

I'm running in the N24 this round. Not really hopeful for much as I have a good habit lately of binning it once a race, but who knows. Seems that it could be a mix of fuel saving versus pitting. In my FR I was good for 3 laps on hards due to the fuel saving needed to make it to the end. And I have good pace if I can keep in slipstream for the 2 long straight blasts. But definitely will be battling to keep it on track. Biggest challenge will be the strat difference at the start as both race starts in the lobby I had last night were a bit chaotic to put it lightly.

Edit: just remembered the last time we had Gr3 at the N24 I qualified great, missed my brake marker for turn 1 and destroyed the race for myself and lots of people. Pulled over and lapped dead last for the rest of it. Maybe getting through turn 1 and that chicane might be my biggest challenge to keeping my head mentally in the game tonight.

I'm definitely entering this race because I think my RSR shouldn't be much of a fuel hogger and I did some practice runs on saving some fuel.

You need to be making closer to 15 seconds per lap on mediums to save the pitstop time. People are losing 25-30 seconds stopping, and nobody I've seen in practice who has stopped has recovered their original position.

If you can go 15+ seconds faster on mediums versus hards you've got a shot, but otherwise the safe bet is the no stop. The slightly lower pace required to make fuel last will also help prevent mistakes so that's an added bonus.

Try a practice run going flat out for two laps on mediums and then tell me what sort of shape the tyres are in at the end of lap 2...

Those time differences are about right. I felt so slow trying to fuel save but was about 8 to 9 seconds a lap slower (when I didnt crash) than going full chat. No way I can overcome all that with traffic if I dont have a huge lead. That and the Hards dont fall off nearly half as bad as the mediums

Done a couple of test and yes no stopping is the optimal, but I struggle more on the 3rd hard lap than the 2nd med. Just did one and my last lap was going to be 20 secs down on the 2nd and then I ran out so it was 1 min virtually dead slower. Now in traffic and fighting maybe I can fuel save better, but maybe I end up going off track more and those meds feel really dodgy on the last lap. I really think it's going to be situational and I really don't know what I'm going to do. Even from the front, should I risk trying to pull away or settle in and hope I don't screw the last lap up. As I'm B/S this race will be won by the guy who makes fewest mistakes and although no stop is optimal I don't know if that will be best for me.

Good luck to you all entering the green hell today.

I have no choice but to skip this round as I have done only 1 lap on this track in my life (LH challenge) and I had zero time to prepare for this in the last few days. Plus I don't think the Ford GT is the best car to drive around there... I'll be watching a stream though!

I do like the Nordschleife, but the combo of having to do a 10-minute out lap in qualifying, drive on the GP portion of the track (which I hate), then do another fuel-saving race, makes this a combo I have no real interest in.
Didn't we start before the start last time here? Maybe I'm just going crazy but it's going though my head that what happened. I'll post how stupid I am in 15 mins.

EDIT: yes I'm stupid!!! Still Q3 with a slightly spoiled lap so can't complain.

I'm in the GT and you are right. Racing Hard and fuelsaving isn't it's strong side.
